For those of us that were in our teens and early 20’s when this was first released, 1985/6 , I defy anyone to find a song that is more evocative of that time. I have immediate goosebumps and tears of happiness! Pure joy 👌🏻 And what’s so bloody amazing about this video is that you can see that joy in each and Every one of these peoples faces 😊 This has just made my entire year 👍🏻 Thank you SO much 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Well... I always thought that Roger Waters was involved here... but it was David Gilmore instead... Dream Academy did sound a little Pink Floyish in that song. But this Chor here is superb.
Came here via Dario G (who sadly passed today), he sampled the original song & released it as Sunchyme ...found this video after looking for different version of the original - marvellous (as it goes I'm from a ((very) northern English town - almost Scotland, which gives the song more resonanance)
I just want to spend the rest of my time on earth involved in something so...HUMAN like this. Just put me in the middle, to sing and drink a pint or 10 for eternity.
In my opinion, for what it’s worth, this is the best version of this great song that I’ve heard. I can’t stop playing it whenever I need to be cheered up.
I grew up in a small town in northern Ohio. I live gulf side in Florida in an Urban area...Jesus...what am I doing HERE!? I need to go back to life in my northern town.
Like the best songs, this evokes a mood and a memory. Seeing a chorus of strangers perform it just makes it more powerful. As the train rolled out of sight, bye-bye.
I'm in agreement with Susan Keller. A moment in time captured of good that is still in this world, no agenda, no motives just the joy of a song that we know and love. Enjoy life we are all in this together. This will be probably my most favorite rendition of all time of this song. Love it! Thank you Pub Choir for posting this.
I had a bad childhood, made some friends around the time this was released, and things got good. I made the mistake of moving away and they've been bad ever since. I'll go back to my friends one day. This was beautiful.
Inspiring! Astrid, what joy you bring!!! How wonderful would this be for our regional areas suffering drought. Oh, if there could only be a pub choir in all of our towns going through such hard times.
No puedo dejar de maravillarme por lo que estoy escuchando. Como tantas voces juntas pueden vibrar de ese modo!!!!pufff. Es lo que necesitamos en un mundo como este. Bravo!!!!A seguir por esa senda.
Just walked past the salvation army band in croydon and immidiately this song came to mind.oh to live in a northern town.come to croydon if you want to see grim.😂
Amazingly gut wrenching, brought tears to my eyes,i remember the original when i was a teen.i never heard of Pub Choir before, hope to see in London maybe in November
Is it weird that I’m tearing up? I feel like this is what the world needs todo more of right now!
Agreed. Especially with this song.
You are not alone :)
Me too I had to stop and start again next
Not in the slightest. This is what it sounds like when power and goodness harmonize.
Not weird at all. You have a heart, something sadly lacking in a vast majority of humanity in these times.
I'm from Northern England, and I well remember this song being released round about 1985.
Well played Aussie's, you've done us Northerners proud.✊️
I teared up, too. This, like the best songs, evokes a mood and memory.
I'm from northeastern New England USA and this song always made me feel so proud to be from a northern town ❤
Absolutely brilliant to see so many happy people
This channel is underrated
The world needs more of this......desperately and immediately.
It still does and forever more.
These must be my people; They drink and sing my favorite song!🥰
and in a pub...
Still haven't worked out why this hasn't had a million views....
I'm telling as many people as I can about this-----pure JOY !!! What a beautiful break from all our troubles!
This blew my mind. How powerful. I would have broken down in tears. I already did. Beautiful, just beautiful.🤯
A great crowd of Australians...............fantastic singing
Fantastic - the taiko drums really made it! :-)

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a “good” singer…when you get this many people sharing a moment, everyone sounds great.
