PROMISE you’ll listen to this with the sound on (bring tissues)!
Our most ambitious video EVER: 18,812 people across 15 cities with 37 musical guests, performing ONE epic song. May we present Pub Choir’s rendition of Toto's Africa. We really hope you like it. How good is it when people work together?!?
Edit: We are absolutely kicking ourselves to have made a huge mistake in the credits. We left off the name of our BRILLIANT recorder player, Hannah Coleman, and our INCREDILE two flute soloists, Jenny Ridgeway and Louise Wilson. Sorry. And thank you for being a part of our mega music adventure. We're so grateful for your time and talents!!! - Видеоклипы
This is amazing to see. No egos , No animosity towards each other....Just 1000's of people forgetting their worries and enjoying themselves as one. I imagine every single person walked away with nothing but love for one another in their hearts. Astrid Jorgensen should be awarded Australian of the year for bringing so many people together.
That’s what music does to people. Isn’t it wonderful!
Gracie
Food for the soul ❤
I had a profound emotional reaction to this. Blew me away.
This is the 52nd time I listen to this masterpiece today.....
I would love to be there crying and singing this incredibly emotional song
Same.
I'm a immigrant from South Africa. I'm very lucky to say I actually blessed the rains down in Africa
Cool!...um, actually, I'm ignorant of what that actually means! How does one bless rain???
I LOVE this song! Would be wonderful to understand it better 🎶🎶🎶🎶
I am in South Africa and love my Australian family and friends...thanks for doing our song...
Is it weird that I'm crying?
Not at all!
Those tears are precious; they come from your heart. 🥹
i was crying to
No, not at all 😢😢😢 in the world now, they have us so divided, and this just shows, we aren’t, and we are so much alike, but…
I’m not the only one!
I am one of these 18,000. So proud and humbled. A profoundly joyous experience. Thank you Astrid and the whole team 🥰
Humanity has a hope ;)
It was amazing!!!! Truly made my day.
And me crying 😭❤
How do you know your parts?
Thank you friend for sharing yourself and your musical talent. Blessings 🎉❤
I was there and it was GLORIOUS
Fabulous night in Cairns singing this amazing song. Well done everyone all 18k of us!!!!
Having experienced the rains in Africa, this has given me goosebumps and memories flooding back, Thankyou.
@PubChoir has Toto seen this yet?!? I think this is something worth them to see, amazing!
I'm just fascinated with how you were able to layer the vocals with such large groups. This is amazing!
a pub
a drink or two
a lot of enthusiasm
a bucket load of fun
catchy easy song that we probably all know
and then add in someone willing to put in the effort for the hard work
end result people having a good time
I'm impressed they got 100 men or more to sing together
@@mrtony1985 drink does that to people lol
@@mrtony1985 I absolutely understand, what you are talking about. I would have been awked in the beginning... but seeing everyone around me singing, would lead me to sing along, too. 😅
@@born8541 I respectfully disagree. I would've been frightened of this thing that I've become had I joined in.
I simply want to thank you @Pub Choir for taking my mind off all the shit of my day for 5 minutes. This video repreents humanity as i would like it to be
It's electrifying! These talented, fun loving people have turned concert going upside down!!! Absolutely brilliant! So healing in these treacherous times. God bless these people. 🙏
To every single person who participated in this amazingly joyous Toto sing-out, THANK YOU SO MUCH. It is absolutely heart-warming and if it wasn't for my ears the smile would go right around my head!! You've put a lightness in my step, I feel like I'm maintaining an altitude of 1 inch when I walk! I'm a floatin' thanks to you!! Bless you all.
This IS PHENOMENAL! My highest regards to everyone who had a hand in making this.
Who'd a thunk Toto's Africa could sound so good? 😊 I learned lyrics that I'd misheard for 41 years ... 😅
It is, after all, one of the most recognizable and beloved songs of the '80s, so I'm not too surprised.
@@hoyageorge, I always thought it was “I felt the rain down in Africa” and that still works for me because I have been blessed to feel the rain down in Africa, a long almost 50yrs ago but still as fresh in my mind today.
I was one of the thousands!! Such a great feeling to be part of something like this.
you lucky person
I think the same!! Who lucky!!!
I can see the joys and thrills on everyone's faces. You all were so fortunate to be a part of this uplifting and extraordinary event. One of my all time favorite songs! 🥰
How amazing that would have been!!👍🇨🇦
My wife and I have been following Pub Choir since their inception. We were so thrilled to hear they were coming to the United States and in particular, to San Diego! We will be heading there tonight at the House of Blues 🎉🎶🎵 🎤🎙️🎉!!!
This is so, so very good. I love this so much. "Africa" is my all-time favorite song to this day since I first heard in back in the early 80's. I wore out the cassette tape it was on listening to it on my Walkman. Just look at the joy on these peoples' faces as they sing! I feel this in my heart.
This I shared because we Need a World of LOVE not Hate! Tingling over this...The World has to Come together and it seems Music is the Way!
I really wondered if I was exaggerated in thinking that world peace could begin like this....I'm not the only one. Sending you a virtual hug from Italy.🤗
Thank goodness no matter what colour or religion we can come together with music
A good friend of mine sent me the link to this video, and told me it was a "gift". And, hours later, I must've listened to the song a dozen times, and each time, I've been crying. This is amazing. Thank you.
Thank You TOTO!
In tears. Beautiful people, souls, hearts making this happen. 150,000 views? No, this should go viral worldwide. The joy it brings. X
brought tears to my eyes as well great song
TEARS in my eyes from seeing and hearing this and SO jealous I was not in one of those places where I could join in. WOW! THANK YOU!
Same I was in tears
Thanks you to our brothers and sisters in Australia. listening to you singing our song warms my heart. We love you. South Africans and Australians have always been closely linked. My Aussie friends are some of my best! Love you!
The magic of music. The most important force in the human universe
The Brotherhood of Man in action. Everyone so joyfully, wondrously connected in laughter and song. Woes and worries don’t exist. Halls are filled. Hearts are too.
Astrid assembles her gifted musicians and team and weaves her magic to the thousands. Her charismatic presence casts a bright light over us all. A thousand thank you’s to her and all her masterful musos.
This was utterly, thrillingly unforgettable. So many voices raised in harmonious bliss. See for yourself - guarantee you won’t ever forget it.
Blessed to have been amongst the excited, happy throng at Caloundra.
PubChoir will be enriching lives the world over.
Astrid is a NATIONAL TREASURE ✨🩷✨
Sending appreciation from South Africa!!
How lovely ❤️ it was amazing to be a part of this ❤️❤️❤️
What a great night. Thanks Astrid and everyone else involved.
It was a great honour to play on stage as a part of this epic arrangement
Thank you and looking forward to next time!
This fills my heart with so much joy! I keep replaying it, over and over, and singing along. It's one of the more amazing things I've seen in a very long time. I've shared it with many people and will continue to do so. I wish I could participate in something like this.
3:50 What an amazing and awesome performance of one of my all time favourite songs. Blew me away. Reduced me to tears. I'm from the UK but consider myself very fortunate to have lived for many years in West Africa and yes I have been blessed by the rains in Africa.
So happy to have been a part of this! Such a release of happy endorphins too, doing this with good friends.
This is the first time hearing this song and I'm at work. This...just touched me and left me in visible tears. Funny enough, my parents knew the original artist and song since they grew up in the 80s. Hearing this just uplifted my mood and a good number of customers decided to stick around to sing to the song. This is just... I can't stop listening to this. Just amazing job to you all ❤
I love this song! Worth chasing up the Angels Choir (I think) appeared on AGT doing all the sound affects that go with the song (rain, thunder and lightning - amazing). It’s here on RUclips.
The massed voices here are great- so much enjoyment! ❤❤
you should listen to the version of leo morachiolli as well, it's awesome
i feel the same, you should listen to the version of Perpetuum Jazzile as well
Left me in tears, too.
As someone from Africa I can truly say this song speaks to my heart and hits me in the feels every time I hear it❤
Well done pub choir, this was fabulously done😊
Speaks to my soul
there is a rumour Toto were a bit off with "as sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serenegti"
you cannot see Kilimanjaro from Serengeti afaik ?
@@rivenoakyes, it’s over 300 km from Kilimanjaro to the Serengeti. I suppose “rises above Tsavo” doesn’t scan as well! 😅
When they say "I bless the rains down in Africa l get touched"😢
In a time when I am regularly losing faith in mankind this is such a beautiful symbol of humanity. Thank you so much, Australia and Toto!
This song has more lives than even Thriller.
I was at the first Melbourne gig as part of the tour. It was one of the best nights of my entire life!!! Thank you so much for putting on an incredible show. It felt amazing to be part of something so magical ❤❤
Heartwarming, lovely to see people together instead of anger and bitterness.
I loved this. It was so beautiful to see how happy everyone was to be part of it. Thank you to you all ❤
So humbled to be part of this. Thank you Astrid.
I am crying!!!!!!!!!!

just brilliant....🥰🥰🥰 look at everyone's faces, so full of joy !
To see and hear joy is the best thing and to all taking part - they would add feeling joy as well!
Truly bloody amazing. The participants are all to be thanked hugely but the organizers are total heroes. Well done to you all for creating something so emotionally wonderful. Kudos to you all.
"Rockhampton - Whip" is just 👌
This should be Earth's national anthem! 🧐
U guy´s bring HOPE to the world. Thank U! From Germany with love, Olaf
That was FRICKIN AWESOME!!!!! I 💜 that song anyway. But to hear it like that is mind blowing 🤯 😮 Thank you to everyone who did this. Beautifully done👏👏👏👏💜💜🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵💜💜💜
What joy you create for so many people!
Absolutely WONDERFUL.
Wow, it sounds even better here than it did singing it on the night - but it was an amazing experience as always! Thank you Astrid and all the team for all that you do!
AMAZING.... 18.000 singing in perfect harmony. So much fun!! I can't stop my feet and singing with the 18.000 people.
Love this ❤🇳🇱
We are sorrowful this week and need this beautiful musical healing. Thank you all you 18K gifted musicians for sharing this wonderful gift❤🙏🙌

This is what a positive attitude and positive thinking can achieve and its WONDERFUL.
Goosebumps..❤❤❤❤
It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
Amazing! The sheer absolute joy of 18,000 people is infectious! What a wonderful idea! I can’t stop smiling! Well done!!
👏👏👏👏🥰
GREAT PERFORMANCE! A PLEASURE TO WATCH!! WHAT A FEELING MUST IT HAVE BEEN BEEING A PART OF IT - WOHOO !!
What a brilliant feelgood event. More!
You've done it again Pub Choir Team. It was so much fun to be a part of. Great arrangement, Astrid. Thanks for bringing the joy. The rest of the world is going to love you. Safe travels. 💛
The lead lassie is magnificent, a true artist and performer x
I'm crying too and if you look at every single person they all have wonderful faces.
Just an unbelievable, unforgettable experience. Thank you to Astrid and all the team for putting this together. One of the best nights of my life!
Wow. I would have loved to have been a part of this - the goosebumps!!! I was at ‘that’ Kate Bush one and it was honestly one of the best nights out I’ve ever had! Astrid has this knack to just create these amazing arrangements and you just get chills being part of something so beautiful 🥲🥲🥲 Well done all of you, you have created something incredible! ❤
OMG why are we crying watching this? Amazing choreography and all the happy people feeling part of a much bigger whole!
This is SO SO WONDERFUL !!!!!
The joy of music ❤
Oh look at all of my joyful brothers and sisters having a good time! It made me cry, wish I was there! Congrats to all!
smashed it again... would expect nothing less
Do this in South Africa for the next road trip.
Absolutely amazing! Can’t stop watching. Love all the happy faces and this is a sad time in my life so I needed this. Thank you!
May you find peace and happiness once again❤️
With all the crap going on in the world and the division over our latest referendum, seeing people together smiling is an awesome thing. The world needs more of it.
There's nothing 100 men or more could ever do to stop me from listening to this.
To put it correctly, this IS world class. The synchronized audience clapping was the most awesome, because everybody with hand could be there for that
If only we could all get along outside of something like this incredible experience. Seeing so many taking part is heart-warming. Collaborative singing might just change the nature of humanity!
sounds like you're freightened of this thing that we've become
Yay, I was waiting to watch this….My first Pub Choir!
Oh my goodness! This was AMAZING! I have chills!
it sure was
Absolutely fabulous
Amazing!
Just WOW!! - Why have I not seen any other of these productions before? Events like this need to be promoted World Wide to show the joy of music in the International Community!! 🥰🥰
Brilliant song, fantastic video, fantastic emotions! TY! And Thank you RUclips!
What a fantastic experience. One I will always remember.
The world would be a much better place if we just learned to sing together. Bravo!
Oh Wow!!!! What a great Sound and so enjoyable and so much fun. Fantaaastic!!!!👏🎶 Well done all. PubChoir another winner 🏆. Well sung all!!!!!!❤
When Toto first released this I missed my school bus because I was mesmerized watching the video on morning TV. Best single ever? It has got to be up there...
That whip! I bet that was awesome in person. Anyone at that one? The Matildas scarves capture the moment
Brilliant.
How awesome does this sound!! The most fun I have had in ages being a part of this!
Love it! Thanks for making me smile. It takes a lot these days!
Thanks Astrid & Team!! Top night at the Tank 5 in Cairns, save travel overseas, see You next year! MUSIC IS LOVE!!!!😊😉😊
I had tears of joy watching and listening to this. I am from Sydney, and I wish to be part of this someday.
Outstanding and here we can feel the power of music, greetings from Mexico
Hello Mexico is great! Love from Oz! 🇦🇺
Pub choir videos always put tears in my eyes!
Magnificent, just magnificent!!!!!
We did Pub Choir in Cairns with a bunch of friends. Such a wonderful night. So much joy and love in that room. I'll never forget it. Astrid, you must be bonkers taking on something this big, but you did it, and I'll always be grateful for the experience 🥰🤗🙏🤩
Seriously... When many people come together for one single cause, magic does happen..... This is case in point, there was an energy during this song that transcended above the song itself, just amazing this touched my soul!
THIS IS BEYOND GORGEOUS!! Plus the effort of every single person. That lady's adlibs tooooooooo... such perfection!!
A stunning and magical moment! More than 18K voices united in song - more, please! ❤
Having so many sharing music with other like minds just radiates joy. Well done! The world needs more of this.
