Board and Batten is my favorite. Your accent wall came out beautifully and you made it seem so easy! I'm really intimidated by the miter saw and know I'll need it to cut my boards so I'm trying to get over it. Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous project!
I liked your instruction and the foam roller. I was confused how to install around a window and this video helped. I loved how yours turned out. The conifer green is nice!
What about the bottom? The board would stick out over the trim I’m pretty sure, but I guess you could put another piece behind it later on to make it flush. Normally you remove the bottom trim and add another board to make it flush then put the trim back
Ok I immediately got a flashback of old scrapbooking days. There was a teenager, I admired btw, I used to follow who scrapbooked. Is this you DREW? I love it
This is GORGGGGG!!!! And so easy to follow! I appreciate it! I’m doing the same exact color cuz yours is just delish. One question- what is the name of the color you have on the opposite walls and above the board and batten? I love how they compliment each other. Thank you for the tutorial!
Drew!!! Literally just watched some videos of yours and looking around my room, I’m trying to figure out what to do with my ceiling, and of course you’re in the algorithm for my ceiling searches 😅
This looks great! However, I can't help but question the adhesive glue being applied and how that may damage the wall if ever the boards are taken down.
Proportional spacing of 10" is better than other B&B DIY videos. Notice that the boards are not flush with the base moulding, the boards hang over the base, may not be ok for you. He nailed it. (pun intended)
I'm going to. I will be using 1x4 for the baseboard as well as the verticals. This way the thicknesses are the same. My original baseboard is way too thin and wouldn't look right with the 1x4 sitting on top of it.
Beautiful work! I love it! I plan to do this to the largest wall which is a cathedral wall. I would like the top half to be wall papered. Any recommendations on style or colors for wall paper? I love your channel. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us. ❤
I use a miter saw for all my projects. I hardly ever use a circular saw on anything where I need to make perfect cuts. Miter saws give you the flexibility of cutting a perfectly square cut every time while also being able to miter something if need be at the same time. I find that more often than not I’ll have to make adjustments here or there if walls aren’t perfectly straight. I’d definitely recommend a miter.
the thickness of your board selection overhangs the baseboard trim at the bottom kind of erratically, was this intentional or should one be trying to avoid this and taking extra care/craftsmanship into the tapering? thanks in advance
@@crystalveber1161 thanks for reply, makes sense. Also in a century home myself and finding the same... just wasn't sure if maybe the overhang was universally "accepted" as part of the style. Thanks again
I've seen in other videos where they pull off the baseboard and apply a new board to match the others so that it doesn't have that overhang and looks more cohesive.
And to stop drafts, you could have added some dimmed back lighting as night lights this idea sparked an idea for a future bedroom/room idea and I'm not good at math but I'm going to correct this and a few things I'm not so good at.
This is one of the worst videos on the subject. Baseboard is not addressed, caulking is horrible. The most important message from this video is: HOMOSEXUALITY IS GOOD.

Very well spoken and informative video
Love this. Thanks Drew.
Agreed on prices of all essentials ! Decor right now is an instant refresh, in my opinion, unless major renovations need to be done.
GREAT JOB, Drew!!!! 👏🏼

Wow. That looked so easy
Love the wall, it's beautiful. Color also.

That color is gorgeous! Love love love the wall! Thanks for the tutorial!
Good Job 👍
Hello you did a great job I wish I can do that in my apartment but I rent be looking forward for your next video God bless
He literally mentioned how this his apartment.. hence he rents.. 🤦♂️
You won’t know unless you ask your landlord. There are other videos for rental friendly versions (no nails, no glue)
Good luck!
Ok I immediately got a flashback of old scrapbooking days. There was a teenager, I admired btw, I used to follow who scrapbooked. Is this you DREW? I love it
This is fantastic!
Rental hack: use really thin mounding/“stop” wood (super lightweight!) and a ton of 3M Velcro adhesives to adhere it to the wall!

Your directions are really precise and helpful. Thanks.
Love this tutorial! Thanks for posting.
This looks so great I want this in my house. Will Home Depot precut the boards for you if you do not own a table saw?
Amazing!
What's your wall color? Love it!
Can someone please tell me the exact size of the boards used here? It’s so confusing to me as a first timer 1:18
Drew! 💕💕
Got the Safety Squints on.
BEAUTIFUL! Cost for materials?
wait but what about the very bottom of the battens sitting on the base board at the bottom? Dont they stick out???
Yes, that is why I would replace the baseboard with a 1x4.
Did you replace the baseboard?
I'm going to. I will be using 1x4 for the baseboard as well as the verticals. This way the thicknesses are the same. My original baseboard is way too thin and wouldn't look right with the 1x4 sitting on top of it.

Love it! What do you do if you have textured walls? Thanks!
You need a video that shows you how to install a quarter-inch MDF backing board, which conceals the wall
Wow Home Depot. Wow.
Nice but the price of lumber is holding me back from doing any project right now.
Love the look, but it can be more expensive to DIY than hiring the HD depot team almost!
Furring strips are $2.22 at Lowes. 1x3x8
ok this look amazing... not sure I could use the glue on a wall in a rental though
Does anyone have any thoughts on using a miter vs circular hand saw on this project?

I wonder if that could be because of the warping of his walls being inconsistent (since he said his place is from the 1920s).

Great tutorial Drew!!! I am definitely getting mines started now
How big is the Miter Saw that you use?
I was noticing you did not use batten just the board 🤔
Where is your board for the batten so bad
And to stop drafts, you could have added some dimmed back lighting as night lights this idea sparked an idea for a future bedroom/room idea and I'm not good at math but I'm going to correct this and a few things I'm not so good at.
What’s pre primed mean
Like already sanded?
That Ryobi does not go with your nail varnish ,should have bought a makita 😂
Love the video but the parts where you aren't talking and there's no music is awkward lol 😆
Lol bruh... I can't
Title should really be "How to use caulking to completely fix your terrible DIY Board and Batten wall project"
No safety goggles? come on HD
God Bless this fellow but so much of this was so wrong, we really should be watching finish carpentry professionals, not DIY'ers for specific guides.
Of course Home Depot went woke with a must use transgender

LOL
Had to turn it off as soon as I did hear him talk and the nail polish 🤮
LOL.
who is this that??? 🤢
Hey HD:
How about a how to REMOVE nail polish DIY???👎🏽🤬
You could rather use some how to remove bigotry and prejudice diy ;)
My goodness, are you serious? You should be ashamed of yourself. How about removing yourself please and your narrow minded, hateful views.

I don't think the nail polish detracted from the project. The wall came out looking pretty good. Gonna give it a try.
