You should have seen them in concert. I was lucky enough to see Foreigner, Elton John, KC and the Sunshine Band all in one night. What a line-up for a concert!
K.C. and The Sunshine Band were definitely high energy! Can't listen to their music without dancing to it. Those guys on the brass just had it goin'. Exciting to watch this group perform.
I remember listening to this when it first came out and I was approximately 8 years old and all I know of the song and even still kind of is "that's the way aha aha I like it aha aha!"😂 not a lot of other words to this song! But reminds me of my childhood❤
Just saw them at a casino in Louisiana about six months ago. Even in his 70's, one of the best concerts we have seen in a long time. He had his huge band, background singers and dancers and he entertained the crowd for 2 hours.
I'm 65. In my young days, I was a trumpet player. I was in all manner of bands. Funk was fun! I remember going to one particularly rough club and having to have the band very close as we went in to set up and perform. At our first break, folks were coming up to me and saying you play good for a white boy and they would hand me a drink! We are all just folks. Trying to get along through this world. I had no problems. People just want to hear decent music.
One of the biggest groups in the 70's and in disco. As a kid I used to get these K-Tel albums that had a variety of music on them from hits of the day. KC was always on them. Years later I used to go to a club in Atlanta called CLUB ANYTIME, which was a 70's club and when KC came on the floor went from packed to just insanity. The dude still tours today and he is incredible live.
I freaking love KC and the Sunshine band..if you ain't moving your dead 😅. Check out Brick house from the Commodores. Great reaction and Peace out 🙏 ☮️ ✌️
The Disco era of the 70’s was a merger of two different styles of music to me. It was a mix between funk and mainstream rock and roll. Musically the 70’s offered so many different styles of music to listen to with Rock, Disco, Heavy Metal, Soft Rock, and the emerging punk scene.
Oh Hells bells! Those lyrics that I didn’t really know back then, but I was in love (you know that puppy love for a celebrity? )actually with KC… His real name is Harry Casey… And I love this song, one of my favorites. The bit about “ when you don’t stop, when you shoot your shot” I would’ve absolutely had no idea what that lyric meant. I was a good girl and a virgin until after high school, so whether I understood what he even said on that line, I sure as heck, didn’t know what it meant. I do now! That bad little boy. 😂😂😂😂😂
Our honeymoon in Disney land in 1977. Walking along and a stage comes up out of the ground and it was KC and the sunshine band. I'd never heard them before, was a cool moment. As cool as Donald duck doing the bump with me. Got pics of that. 😂. Oh, brings good memories back to this old lady ❤
Kacey always had a smile on his face, no matter what. 💃🕺🎼 My initials were(& still are) KC, so all the way through school & after, if anyone saw me they would shout "It's KC & The Sunshine Band ". I was so proud of that. Ahhh, youth😊
He was the first performer to open a new community amphitheater in Gautier Mississippi in the Spring. My BFF, her husband and their son went. She said it was packed with people seated and on the ground. She said it was cute seeing him at 75 still kickin’ it. She said it was a great concert and he entertained all ages. People my age brought their kids, grandkids, older parents in scooters that listened to him in the 70s. She said it was not hot and there were no mosquitoes 😂. So he is still popular.
Not only was it a concert it was a performance! Black & White, unified as one through music!! As a human race we can get there again. BP let’s Go because we’re all here’s for it. 👊🏻💯🇺🇸
I was a teenager in the seventies. It was a great time to be alive. We had so much fun, and KC and the Sunshine Band were a huge part of that fun. I have their greatest hits cd in my car, and I listen to it at least once a week!
My Mother and I would watch him on Soul Train. Oh, Mr Don Cornelius helped a lot of artists ❤😂 KC is Harry Casey, Hialeah, Florida. What great musicians!
Starting in 1974 (my first year of high school), I was in a band called the Riverside (California) Entertainers. We did dance moves while playing, which was very much based on these moves by KC & the Sunshine Band. We played several of their tunes, as well as lots of other stuff that was current at that time. What a BLAST it was!!!
Thank you for reacting to this music. You have experienced a great artist that transcended race. Back then, no one cared if he was black or white..Their music was awesome. I wish today we could just enjoy the music.
BP…… These guys were absolutely huge back in the day….They have a huge catalog and were one of the absolute best party bands ever…… Dance all night long to some high energy tunes. They were also on the radio every day and every night. Super good stuff.
As I recall, Harry Casey (KC), had quit performing and was basically retired except for some studio work. One of his former female singers convinced him to tour again. We have over 20 more years of new fans to enjoy the music live, as it should be.
Not from the set of Boogie Nights, but Saturday Night fever! They even made a song for the soundtrack.... Always great to see KC and the listen to the band!! LJ
They were always fire. A lot of good songs. Get Down Tonight, Shake Your Booty, I Get Lifted. Boogie Shoes was featured on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, the biggest selling of all time until MJ's Thriller came out. Sat. Night Fever album is awesome with multiple BeeGees tunes on it as well as Open Sesame by Kool & The Gang and KJEE--cant sit still to those 🕺
Yes, KC and the Sunshine Band were one of my favorites in 70s. This song is so good. Great beat music. His voice was good. KC, this was mostly how I experienced it..THE RADIO 😂
Thanks! this song always brings me back to HS in 1977-78.. when our "pom pom" team had a routine to "Get Down Tonight".. but somebody's concerned mother told the school officials that it was "inappropriate" and we were told we couldn't use it... two days before the scheduled performance.. us kids were freaking out, but our very smart young coaches said.. don't worry... we'll just do the same routine to "That's the way I Like it".. and we did.. and I have to laugh, b/c the lyrics of this song are actually even MORE sexually suggestive than Get Down... lol.. These guys were a whole SHOW... awesome!
Harry got into a head-on car accident in 1982. He was partially paralyzed for six months. The doctors weren't sure if he'd walk again. He had to relearn how to walk, dance, and play the keyboard. I remember seeing him on TV after the accident. He came out front with the back-ups, they danced, he kind of did. He was not the same, but this was his first performance post paralysis. He was not the loose KC anymore, he was stiff and stilted, I assume he got better with time. He and the band still tour.
BP, PLEASE REACT TO the song SMOKE ON THE WATER BY THE ROCK BAND DEEP PURPLE from 1972 their MACHINE HEAD LP please please pretty please lol its 70s 🔥Tipity Top of your play list promise Take Care B,P and family
Way back in 1976 i believe it was KC and the Sunshine band played a spring dance and at a lunch time concert on our quad at San Carlos high was such a great time
*Harry Wayne Casey* his surname is where the band's name came from. They still play concerts in the US and other countries. About 100 shows a year. I had to google these guys as they were everywhere in the beginning of my clubbing days (at 15!)
KC and The Sunshine Band are so very awesome! You cannot sit still listening to this This was when music was real. No auto tune just pure raw talent. Love your reaction!
I actually just saw them two weekends ago and they still put on a good show and he still sounded awesome at 73 yrs old. Average age of the audience was probably 60 and older boy did we dance and have a good time. Course we were grabbing our knees and grabbing our backs LOL and leaving a little bit slower than we did in the '70s but it was so much fun.
They were so much fun to see live. Saw them once as a kid in Ohio and again when I was about 22 at a New Year’s celebration where there were all kinds of acts spread throughout a large venue. They didn’t disappoint.
Aw this song brings back some very fond memories from my youth. We danced the night away that's for sure to KC , the BeeGess , Donna Summers etc . I'm a huge fan of 60s 70s rock but I have to admit that bands like KC definitely got us up on our feet big time lol
They came and played our local fair maybe 15 or 20 years ago, and the Sunshine Band members may have changed over time but KC and the new band still had the same fun, funk and soul, always a great set of backup singers and the horn players. Very fun to watch them do all the greatest hits.
I just wanted to say you are having so much fun with this. The music is great, but your reaction to the music you feature is icing on the cake. Thank you.
So my music years is mainly the 80’s and my husband’s is the 70’s mainly. So now, I know a lot of the 70’s too! These guys are awesome and those, of course is a great song!!! Always gotta love those horns!! ❤❤❤
KC was HUGE in the 70's, a little white boy that had EVERYBODY dancing. man i love that man.
So true! Loved them back then.
Never knew he was white. lol. Heard it 1000s of times but never saw a video,
Love KC!😀👍
😊
Me too
You should have seen them in concert. I was lucky enough to see Foreigner, Elton John, KC and the Sunshine Band all in one night. What a line-up for a concert!
Lucky you!
@dillodefense Man you got Rock,Pop and Disco all in one night that must have been spectacular I’m so jealous good for you!!!
@@dawnmclees It was awesome!
We had the greatest lineups back in the day.
I saw them in concert. The show was incredible! Have always been a huge fan of KC and the Sunshine Band
Three decades changed music and the world forever - the 60's the 70's and the 80's Great to see it all being appreciated now!
Gen X got it right!
@@michellem2517Those od us that are tail end of the Boomers, born after 1960 share a lot more with Gen X than the Boomers.
K.C. and The Sunshine Band were definitely high energy! Can't listen to their music without dancing to it.
Those guys on the brass just had it goin'. Exciting to watch this group perform.
When I was growing up EVERYBODY loved KC & The Sunshine Band ❤
Lots of satin and sequins in the 70s - people wore colorful clothes that were fun. Not like today when everyone wears black and gray sweats.
Yeah, 70s style was definitely more colorful and decorative and had more personality.
The 70s were the best time for music and people.
You got that right lol im very proud to be a 70s BRAT at 63 now lol
I remember listening to this when it first came out and I was approximately 8 years old and all I know of the song and even still kind of is "that's the way aha aha I like it aha aha!"😂 not a lot of other words to this song! But reminds me of my childhood❤

One of the best disco groups during the 70s.
70’s Music Just Hits Different
ITS FUN ITS FUNKY IITS ROCKY, ITS ITS OUTSTANDING My faverite decade EVER
This was our life in the 70s.....we miss it while the younger generation can only dream of it 💯👍😉

My dad had this jammin in his vw van on his 8 track stereo when I was little in the 70’s, and we all loved it 😅
Horn sections, back up singers and disco dust fueled good times.
Now you understand why this song got us on the dance floor back in the day, Mr. Dancing in Your Chair. 🕺🤣
Kacey always had a smile on his face, no matter what. 💃🕺🎼
My initials were(& still are) KC, so all the way through school & after, if anyone saw me they would shout "It's KC & The Sunshine Band ". I was so proud of that. Ahhh, youth😊
The Brass Section is Tight. The sisters are on it. KC knows how to put on a show. The choreographed dance moves are amazing.

What a cutie, with his dimples! Can you imagine how many people he had to pay, with the
band and back-up singers.
We used to dance in Disco clubs in Boston. K.C. and Donna Summer (RIP) and The BeeGees. GREAT TIMES!
This was the high light of the disco era. And for a while there was no turning back.
Thank you for reacting to this music. You have experienced a great artist that transcended race. Back then, no one cared if he was black or white..Their music was awesome. I wish today we could just enjoy the music.

Please don’t go - was a hit too, lovely song.

They have several other huge hits. I always like Boogie Shoes, and Keep it Coming Love.
Keep it coming love is my favorite especially the way Boogie Man seamlessly fades into it on the album
Also: Get Down Tonight.
We saw them a few years back, and trust me, they still bring it.
IM YOUR BOOGIE MAN you have to do next! Official video! Oh my gosh!! I guess I better go listen!! 😊
They are playing Agua Caliente casino in Palm Springs on New Years Eve.
KC & Sunshine Band played with precision ! They must have spent a crazy amount of time practicing to keep it that tight.
Loved this band. Had several of their albums. We had a lot of fun in the 70s.
Yes, KC and the Sunshine Band were one of my favorites in 70s. This song is so good. Great beat music. His voice was good. KC, this was mostly how I experienced it..THE RADIO 😂

Energy. Funky Energy. Stylized Energy. Groovy Energy. Intentional Energy. Master Energy.
Those guys are WORKING! Bet it's 100 degrees on that stage. They all look like it's the end of the show.
Oooooh yeah! KC and the Sunshine Band & Wild Cherry! Great groups, and YES, they got the rhythm and soul. 70's had so much of the best music ❤
*Harry Wayne Casey* his surname is where the band's name came from. They still play concerts in the US and other countries. About 100 shows a year.

The Sunshine Band since they were from the Sunshine state - FL.
I miss horn sections!! ❤
Never thought those days would end!
I saw this wonderful band in the late seventies at a county fair! I was all of 13!!
I still have this album on vinyl. Won it in a dance contest in the 70s. 💃🏼... Great band🔥
What a great memory! I lost all my vinyl albums, tapes, everything...Vinyl and tapes do NOT like being under water!
KC and The Sunshine Band are so very awesome! You cannot sit still listening to this This was when music was real. No auto tune just pure raw talent. Love your reaction!
Love them, I grew up listening to them, took me back❤
Easily one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, his energy is electric. It is a chaotic stage show with a lot of people, dancing and wild outfits.
I saw them just a couple months ago. KC is 73 and still does hour and a half to two hours per show and not in slow motion.
Brings me back to my youth in the disco. A great song to dance on.
We were so lucky to grow up with this music!
Fun and funky. Peak disco!
One of the few disco acts I liked!
Between 1975 to 1980 they had 5 number 1 's and 1 number 2 singles!
Mitica musica discomusic degli anni70/80 ancora bella oggi
First concert I ever saw! They were amazing on stage, just good fun!
LOVED your reaction Robert! KC always put some Sunshine in my life!

I liked this song. It was performed in the movie In-Laws with Albert Brooks and Michael Douglas.
I saw these guys twice in the 70's. Loved them and still do , great reaction.......
Fun, energetic, dance-able (and skate-able) music.
This was our jam in 8th grade! 💃🏽
Horn section makes EVERYTHING better ;)
They were so much fun to see live. Saw them once as a kid in Ohio and again when I was about 22 at a New Year’s celebration where there were all kinds of acts spread throughout a large venue. They didn’t disappoint.
Give it up was one of my favorite songs of theirs. Just fun. ❤
