You’re the first u tube person that’s got through to me about scales and notes and how to enjoy the process. 🎵😁🎸🕺🏾🎸. Thank you Taylor ! Your truly a teachers teacher
Very good video. I've watched a ton of RUclips videos and you are the first one that explained how to identify the major and minor finger patterns up and down the fret board. You just got another subscriber.
I remember when I was shown this scale and how it could be moved around to play any key, I was blown away... You have a really clear and concise way of teaching, thank you for the lessons and keep up the great work, what you're teaching in some of these lessons has taken me years by myself to work out and even with a teacher it hasn't been so clear as how you teach it 🙂
I am new to your channel, and I have so many guitar channels and to be honest your channel has explained techniques and how to figure out chords and what chord you are playing better than all the other guitar channels🤘🏻 Thank you for taking the time to explain the guitar neck and open up the neck for me.. Craig
What a fantastic lesson plan! I majored in elementary education and wrote many lesson plans. I have a feeling you may have some teaching skills under your belt. I've been playing for a while but seeing the relative major minor from your perspective opened a lot of doors and gave me ideas to explore. Thanks
Really helpful - I think the penny has finally dropped thanks to this video! One thing threw me slightly at first though - I would have found it easier to follow if the fretboard diagram was facing the same way as the guitar - but that's probably just me😉 Thanks again 👍
Nothing really! Those are just two different terms you can use to describe the same idea. The big takeaway is to use the notes of the scale and combine them in a way that sounds like you're speaking a musical phrase (AKA a sentence).
Make sure your kind of flip it upside in your head. It’s meant to be from the perspective of you looking down at the strings while holding your guitar, where the bottom of the diagram is the low e string and the top of the diagram is the high e string 👍🏻
That is why so many new players get confused. Why not just flip the diagram around and invert the strings to match what is being played. Love your style of teaching otherwise. Thanks
The most common way that the fretboard is notated is from the player’s point of view, with the nut to the left and the high e string at the top. That way you don’t have to flip it both horizontally and vertically to use while playing it yourself.

Wow! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I understand more and more how to play on all the fretboard. Sooo cool! You are an amazing teacher.
Thank you Claudette! Glad to hear that this was helpful to you and happy to have you as a student!!

Good info, thx, bro. Never too old to keep learning (making sense of years of just doing).

Absolutely awesome. Thank you for sharing your tips ❤
Glad you enjoyed this one!
I finally understood. THANKS
Such a great explanation, thanks a bunch.
Thank you Taylor ❤
Thank you!
Hey mate… thanks for that… this all makes sense now, couldn’t get my head around how to apply the CAGED system
Thank you for making the beginner guitar scale easy
Wow. Thanks so much!
The guitar whisperer ✨✨ just started playing man. Loving it!! Do you do any lessons to make sure there’s no bad habits here & there
Hi could you do some solos on the guitar and show them what key you doing it next time
Thank you
Great suggestion! Will do!
Hey Taylor great stuff. A small clip mic next to your mouth would level up your videos. But great work!!
Thanks for the tip!
You are awesome, keep it up please. How about some easy lead stuff.
There’s also a root note on the high E string , which is the same as the root note on the low E string
Correct!
Nice work. Thanks. What is the difference between a sentence and a phrase in musical terms?

Thanks, mate @@TaylorDeanBarnett
thank you sir, 👍 & GOD BLESS
Excellent
Hope it comes with a backing track
Taylor, are you playing a G5445T?
Hey Jimi! This one is a Gretsch electromatic!
what is this scale called please?
It's the first position of the pentatonic scale.
There are 5 positions total that link together.
I think your diagram is wrong…🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

@@georgemajor9589It's weird right? The way Taylor explained it, looking down, helped my brain put it all together and lock it in to my memory.
Nice scale toturial..now I understand..I just got confused of the diagram 😊
your scale is upside down and reversed
All scale diagrams are written this way
