What a great way to start beginning guitar players. Get them playing melodies, scales, and even chords. Eventually, students would be able to create their own custom chords on the fly and riffs after learning chord theory and applying it to your lessons. Everything about playing the guitar can begin and build on this lesson. Fantastic!
My husband just bought me a guitar yesterday and I tried a couple different RUclips video's and I really started to think WHY did I do this!!! But then your videos came up and my husband said try this one and I'M SOOOO HAPPY and BELEIVE I can ACTUALLY PLAY! thanks sooooo much. I subscribed and will play at least an hour everyday with JOY!!!!
Get a note book, write down the days you practice, how long you practice, and what you practice. Don’t put your guitar away!!!! If it’s away it’s forgotten! Play every day no matter what you have 30 minutes a day everyone does. We waste so much time each day on our stupid phones. And in 90 days you will play. The only way to play is to play.
Awesome to hear and thank you for watching! Congratulations on starting your guitar journey!!!

Hi Taylor, I've watched many guitar videos, both teachers and players (big fan of so many amazing guitarists on Candyrat) and I find you are now one of my favorite instructors- everything you cover is so straight forward, uncomplicated and applicable to help me improve my playing which at this point in my life is for personal enjoyment.

By far, one of the most interesting, most helpful introductory level, "Hi, we're actually MAKING music and exploring this new instrument" kind of lesson's I've seen yet. So glad I stumbled across this :) Thanks for sharing! Learning a new instrument requires effort, naturally, and some can be monotonous and boring at times, but it's supposed to be fun-- the goal is to enjoy it. All work and no play makes for a very dull time. Thank you for making it fun!
Like this instruction. Good teacher 😊
Love this 😊
Thanks Tailor for the lesson, very easy to follow.
Great lesson, thank you.

Great lesson. It also teaches where the notes are on the strings which is always good to know.

Great video.
And playing a Taylor guitar makes anyone sound good.
Tks
Kinda glad I did not know this a few years ago. It probably would have kept me content far too long😂
Brilliant for new player
Take my money! Excellent vid thank you!
That was awesome. Very helpful. I was already doing something like that, but I never thought about it before the way you explained it. I'm finding that when I try to do it with just my fingers it's not loud enough. So I have to use my pic and go back and forth between two strings to make it louder. Still sounds good but probably a little more difficult that way.
Tune that guitar man. PS excellent lesson.
I wish I woukd have looked at this for my first lesson.
Genuinely useful for making nice sounds AND reinforcing understanding of music theory and fretboard layout!
I'm a novice learning on my own with no knowledge of scales chords or being able to read music. This seems simple enough. I hope I don't mess it up 😏👍
Thanks sir
What a lesson. That's been so helpful. I am wondering...would this also be a way to learn 'modes' as I think it may fit..? However, my theory is basic.
Super
THATS THE SIMPLEST WAY IVE HEARD YET ON THE GUITAR.
great lesson Sir.just subscribed ,looking forward to more lessons etc.
Nice
Awesome son...
👌
Might help to know the major scale is 8 notes with whole notes (2 frets in between) for all the notes except the 3 to 4 and 7 to 8 which have half notes (1 fret interval). Using the high E open as the first note (as done in the video) you can then go 2 frets, 2 frets, 1 fret, 2 frets, 2 frets, 1 fret (= an E one octave[8] higher than you started). So, when starting on open B (the 5th note in the key of E major) then 2 frets, 2 frets, 1 fret gets you to the 8th note of the scale, an E! Then continue down the neck whole, whole, half, whole, whole, half and your at a B on the 12th fret one octave higher from your starting point (open B).
Sure
This is also called Shankaraabharanam Raagam, Sa,Re2,Ga2,Ma1,Pa,Da2, Nee2& Sa .
Think of Doe Ray me Fa So La Ti Doe.
Good lesson. Use all strings while staying in the same key. I’m trying to reach myself guitar.
👍👍👍👍👍
Got one......!
I’m assuming this can be done with all the keys. I play piano and have a great scales book. What about the low A and E atringd.
APPRECIATE THIS! MY BIG QUESTION IS WILL THIS SAME TRICK WORK ON THE OTHER KEYS LIKE A,D, F,C to learn the notes fast up and down the keyboard 🤔? Anybody please answer.
Why not
Little Drummer Boy on E string.
Taylor thanks ❣️ for sharing your talent
