I wanted this shifter for years. I finally pulled the trigger at the start of the year. Two days later as it was being shipped to Ricmotech I lost my job due to COVID. I had to do the right thing and cancel the order. Then a few months later I was back to work and felt safe enough to order it again. This time I ordered it directly from ProSim. It took about two almost three months to get it. Like I said above the one thing I’d wish for with that shifter is some other color options. The red and gray look good enough but it’s kind of a dated color combo. I’m really into the aesthetics of my sim setup. Black, Gold and red accents are the colors I’m kinda focused on. This black and gold ProSim H pattern would have really look good and taken that part of my setup to another level. Ha
A minor correction, dog boxes do not necessarily have straight cut or spur gears. Even if many of them do, the type of gear gear selector and the way the gears are cut is actually distinct. It's quite possible to have custom transmissions built for street and occasional track use that even mix and match straight and helical cut gears with all having dog ring style selectors. And many people have had such transmissions built for them. ( 1-st through 4th being straight cut say, and 5th being helical so it's quiet on the highway ) ( Perhaps another interesting note, is there are also herringbone gears which eliminate the axial loading of regular old helical gears for various tradeoffs )
This thing could go through an atomic bomb drop. It would still work flawlessly. This is a sim shifter made with real motorsports shifter parts. So you can slam thru the gears as hard as much as you feel like with 0 fear of breakage. IT WONT BREAK!
There was a time before the pandemic when spending $250 on a H-pattern thrustmaster shifter made me pause and question if it was worth it. Nowadays though I see the real value in high end gear. I could see this in my future.
I had just put my name in the BDH preorder list.. then I saw this was in stock at a local store and IMPULSE BUY. Seems to be the new Covid normal these days. If you want something and it is in stock, you either get it.. or wait forever for the next one to be available.
Have you driven a car with a Dogbox? Would be nice hearing someone that have tried both, comparing it to a real car. I've only seen vids of dogbox transmissions, and it looks and sounds pretty similar to what I'm feeling / hearing when using my Prosim.
Love it! I've ordered one myself. I'm using an 80/20 profile rig too. How have you mounted it? Looks like it's bolted straight onto a single profile...
Had mine since Aug. I freaking love it. Its my favorite piece of hardware on my chassis.
Looks very nice! I owned a Quaife ATB diff so I'm sure the quality would be good.

Is it possible to use the two reverse gear as two forward gears making it possible to have 8 forward gears?

Yes, used to own a classic mini with a dog box, should never have sold it. would be worth a small fortune now!

just with a couple of alloy 90 degree angle brackets. it was just a temporary job for the video but was rock solid
SimCore makes a really cool mount for it too.

Wrong. Price the components to build it. This uses real (race parts are expensive) motorsports transmission/shifter parts.
Real quaife parts are quality and not cheap
