Best solution is heated gloves, then invest in heated grips. Having both is really nice when it's freezing. But heated grips alone are never enough, the upper hand freezes :/
I used both heated grips and gloves for the last few years, clocking up 100,000ks. I've just bought a GSXS1000GT and didn't bother with the grips as I have the gloves. I immediately find that I often use the heated grips when wearing my summer gloves (unheated). I like the low bulk and feel on the light gloves. Now though I need to change my gloves if riding in the 10-20C range when I'm the past I would have just turned the grips up a bit. I'll be getting heated grips for the GT now as I'll own it for plenty of ks and enjoy the comfort of heated grips, even though I also have heated gloves
Perhaps someday Suzuki will design heated grips which integrate with the dash and switch gear. The little blinking button would go away, and the grips would be substantially cheaper as the electronics are removed (would use bike's electronics). While they're at it, make the wiring internal rather than dangling out the sides. Honda, Yamaha and BMW heated grips have all these features. It may seem trivial to most, but the completely regressive heated grips are the one problem that will prevent me from ever purchasing a Suzuki while these are the OEM offering. It's no wonder that no Suzuki comes from the factory with heated grips installed, as the dangling wires alone would be a deterrent to shoppers browsing the showroom.
Look at Daytona V2 heated grips. All controls built in to the left grip and voltage sensitive, so turn themselves off at 12.5 volts so can be wired directly to the battery without fear of leaving them on.
I found Oxford heated grips with Oxford hand muffs, it looks absolutely ridiculous but it's like putting your hand into a oven 😂 I wear thin gloves because my hands get so hot even when riding work in -2 degrees 2 weeks ago, hand guards really help to keep the wind off too
They seem to work exactly like the grips I have on my venerable 2011 VFR1200. The only difference is my LED is red. Later Hondas had 5 settings and on my 2018 NC750 you got a symbol and number on the LCD dash which was good.However the heat was poor and the VFR grips are a lot hotter.
Wow they aren't cheap, although they look good and perform well. I have the Oxford heated hand grips which work well enough for me here in South Australia. 😀
My dealer did not carry the heated grips due to geographic location(Florida). I traded my Yamaha Tracer 900 GT. The heated grips on the Yamaha were great. The Suzuki version looks cheap, and the fact that the cable rotates with the throttle is awful.
These look very similar to the heated grips I had on my Kawasaki Ninja1000SX. Far from perfect and not particularly warm in my experience, but at least they’re integrated to some extent. £450 seems an awful lot of money!
I installed $50 heated grips on my gixxer, and they were just fine. It was a little complicated to do myself, requiring a relay, but $500 for dealer installed? Ridiculous.
If this was my bike I'd be taking it back to have the throttle side refitted the correct way around. The cable should be underneath, not in front and rotating over the top of the switches,. Very poor fitment.

Also Keis chicane grips have similar features and let you set each grip differently, which is good as throttle side is insulated because of the tube
