    You can say what you want about Bobby Brown but his music was catchy as hell. It still holds up today IMO.

  • @dtrn254
    @dtrn254 7 лет назад +591

    yep...Bobby Brown really made an original musical statement. He was not Michael Jackson....wasn't trying to be. But he was competitive and cocky. Bobby innovated the black male R&B archetype...creating a mix of acrobatic & sexualized dance with smooth and hard music instincts. Brown lead the way for Usher, Chris Brown, Jason D. etc....this is not recognized often as his contribution to pop music overall.

    The new generation don't UNDERSTAND !!!
    Bobby Brown was the Chris Brown of the 80s !!!
    He could Dance his Ass off & He was FLY !!!!!!
    He had every young black boy rocking the Gumby High top Fade.
    And he was NATURALLY SEXY !

      He was not Chris Brown... He was a real talent who could sing and was big all over the world... Chris Brown only big to color struck Americans who value light skin to talent thus music is what it is today....

    • @patrickblack8869
      @patrickblack8869 9 лет назад +14

      I'm didn't say ANYTHING about his Skin Color ... I was referring to his talents !! And Chris Brown is Known all over the World as well .. Plus he has been a solo artist Longer than Bobby .. Once again I was referring To Bobby Brown and the new generation not Knowing his History or Influence in the 80s

    • @Babatunde24
      @Babatunde24 9 лет назад +2

      Patrick Black bobby been a solo artist since 85 when girlfriend dropped and bobby still active....bobby been a solo artist longer that Chris been alive...bobby was known in khazatan....Chris brown local.... And always will be

      @patrickblack8869 9 лет назад +2

      Like I don't know that :(((.
      You are not getting my point . I'm not comparing the two . I was referring to the New generation not Knowing Bobby's History and using Chris Brown a artist know to them .. Period !!! If you think Chris Brown is Local than Guess again Bobby only had 3 albums !!! Chris Brown is the new generation Bobby as far as dancing and singing . That's ALL I was saying . Like MTV is not show all over the WORLD ! #COOL IT NOW

      KDM he probably would’ve went crazy. Janet Jackson was very funny acting. She thought more of herself than she really was. Bobby probably genuinely wanted to be with someone and settle down and at that time Janet wouldn’t have been the right fit. In fact, I don’t think she would’ve wanted to gate any black man then.

Whitney upgraded him to the bigger boys in narcotics. He loves her enough to keep it to himself. I respect Bobby. Def the Chris Brown of the 80's. Are you here to enjoy a video are comment on how someone use to look?. IMO all of them were cute during the Candy Girl era, especially Bobby my favorite and that's how I saw them. Bobby had nice features and I loved the signature gap. My personal preference is chocolate men. I agree, he most definitely got Finer, Sexier, and more Handsome as he got older. Donna Maria They didn't portray to be that either. When Bobby went to jail for gyrating on that girl at his concert, he literally planned to do that to add to his bad boy image. His monicker was, Bobby Brown the bad boy of R&B. But throughout the movie it seemed like he was trying to portray that he didn't look for trouble but trouble always found him. In other words, he's not a bad boy but he wants everyone to finally know that he's a good guy underneath the bad boy image. Why do you think it was so easy for e everyone to believe he put Whitney onto drugs?

    • @tgirl1762
      @tgirl1762 4 года назад +1

      @@officiallytera6831 First of all he didn't create the "Bad Boy" image people saw him that way because he didn't follow rules and always getting into trouble because of it. He didn't like to be told what to do especially when it came his music and performances as you saw when he was in New Edition. Him and the other guys had ideas of how they wanted their music, sound, and look to be but the label wanted their way on top of not paying them. That's why Bobby issues the most. So when Bobby finally got to kind of showcase his style and do things his way he decided he wasn't gonna let nobody tell him what to do. The thing with the girl on stage was him not giving a fuck what officers said. It was a part of his show and nobody was gonna tell him not to do it not even the police and that's where it came from.

It's like Drake right now, we love him but it's time for something new. It's like Warriors and Cavs, they've been running the NBA for the past couple years, fans are tired of the same old same old. Sadly, his relationship with Whitney (who I love) ruined the both of them. Who knows who Bobby could have been if they had not married... Also, his MJ/Prince comment sounded cocky but I think he meant, he was just a regular guy, as opposed to MJ and Prince larger-than-life alter egos...

Artist of today follow BB's footprint...Usher, Chris Brown, with the raw dance crews not MJ's. He was a different type of artist than MJ. Bobby was just raw with a swag. I forgot that about him. It was so odd seeing him with Whitney at first, because he was cooler than her. Clive was trying to make Whitney the next Diana Ross and it was just weird seeing them together, plus she was older than Janet Jackson.
