Bryshere did a GREAT job portraying Michael.... he has the same demeanor as Michael...
thought i was the only one who noticed that.. its scary how much they resemble each other. especially based on their demeanors. makes you forget all about empire watching him. which means he did a great job
Michael actually took bryshere to Boston for 2 weeks so he can get that Boston attitude
i say the same thing every time i watch this 😭
He even sounds like him
Yes you was loyal from the start Ralph. You could have done it alone , but you thought about your friends and that was a very selfless act. That's a true friend.
Robin Saunders 💯
Robin Saunders costed him his solo career tho...reason why he never blew up in the first place
Shake n' Blake for real he had potential to be the next MJ aswell as Bobby
Exactly Maurice Star wanted him and Ralph wanted his friends with him
Bryshere & Mike literally speak in the same way
I mean Mike said it...if it wasn't for Johnny they wouldn't have made it to the Heartbreak album...that's some real humble shit man...
DejaStar07 That’s because he doesn't trust Ralph. I think they would have made it. Ralph is still there.

Monica Rance Nah, when JG came into that group, he just what they needed to make that transition into a more, mature sound.
@@Lemondoor BUT WITHOUT JOHNNY EVEN IF IT WAS RELEASED WITH THE RIGINAL 4 IT WOULDN'T IMPACTED AS IT DID REMINDS ME OF DENNIS EDWARDS AND EDDIE KENDRIX
This movie is the highlight of my year. Love New Edition
it was good, but you are reaching. Have you had children yet? gotten married? have the job of your dreams? tasted the best meal of your life? the years not over. You are caught up in the moment girl. Settle down :-)
I'm a teen I have lots of time to do that stuff.
Mine too it was better then expected
May Flower It really was.
Kennedy Stalling Yes, awesome job!!!👍👍
I loved watching the movie it's just that bet has too many damn commercials
dj oldskool I totally agree, too many Comercials
dj oldskool Black folks always complaining. If it's not one damn thing is another.
Where is the lie?? I was like come on....why all these damn commercials?
What u mean where's the lie... i said the gotta get paid this time the commercials pay these people
The movie should've went to the box office
I love that New Edition was so transparent in sharing their truth. #NE4Life
Yea they kept it real and most ppl act like they got a perfect life
jgfavor1 Me too!!!!!
yeah, because i never knew the rest of them besides bobby was drinking, and smoking like that! not to mention ricky bell getting addicted to cocaine!!
Yes, that was pretty cool of them to share all their dirt for our entertainment purposes! Lol. But, as one of them said they are just working out some these issues as the movie was made. They didn't know how each other felt about certain situations.
It's therapeutic for them.
Yazz sounded just like MIke
Yazz was off the chain!
Luv the Bobby Brown Actor he really did a great job
There's a David Ruffin in every group
it seems like it doesn't it?
LaKeisha Wallace yep 😂
Without David Ruffin y'all ain't nothing😂😂😂😂
Vega lee 😂😂😭😭
Vega lee 😆😆😆😆
Johnny joining NE and Bobby being voted out worked out well because Johnny _gave_ and _brought_ them the maturing sound. Bobby had _lived_ and did it all so when he got voted out it and while _King of Stage_ might've been unsuccessful, _Don't Be Cruel_ made him into an R&B monster and bigger than the group. It all balanced everything out. And we would've never got those five great classic and iconic albums from each member, that only gave NE more life and room to breathe.
David Richardson right ... it had to happen
David Richardson Ur so right. Sometimes we don't know fate has her hands all up in our lives. Changing things around without permission or discussion. But fate definitely puts us in our place. Fatr gives us our life. Fate gives us a story
King Of Stage had a number #1 R&B song in Girlfriend plus a few other songs (Spending Time, Baby I Wanna Tell You Something, Seventeen) on the album are tite. But DBC blew him up into a superstar with the mass crossover appeal.
David Richardson which is ironic cause johnny gill was a fan of thier music way before he joined the group
David Richardson ALSO Bobby was sick and tired doing bubblegum music and wanted to do real people's music in terms of grown-up R&B music. I believe Ray Parker, Jr gave him the right song which was "Mr Telephone Man" in 1984.
Loved that part about Ralph and Johnny. They truly hit it off. The movie was so good that could have made it a full series.
You can tell even till this day there is still tension between all of them
Well thank god they put the mess aside to get the movie done
Yup
That's why they had divisions like RBRM and Johnny/Ralph for awhile
Not anymore, after the movie you can see them meeting up with each other when they can
To be so YOUNG at the time, Michael Bivins had INCREDIBLE foresight and he knew how to make business moves to keep that group together. While egos were flying, Bivins was grounded. It may not have been cool for him not to tell Ralph he was bringing in Johnny, but I RESPECT a power move that keeps things grounded when everyone is being emotional. Michael Bivins saved that group! It's no wonder to me that BBD is still hot!
Bivins was one of the main egos flyin. It was primarily his behavior that alienated Ralph from the group, and then he has the temerity to be offended when he and his mom gets ignored. Mike fully intended to push Ralph out of the group with zero respect or gratitude for where Ralph had led them. Ralph never wanted a solo career; he only pulled that because of how hostile BBD were to him, even after all the sacrifices he made for them. Bivins was selfish and disrespectful, and likely jealous. He looked out for himself, but from a broader picture there's nothing Noble about how he handled things.
Mike biv is my cool cat like me
@@ExtravertmE Umm..Nope. N.E. were spent by '86. Ralph was ALREADY talking going solo by then. They had to do a Cover Album and Tour they HATED.
One of the best stories ever told.......the talent was unbelievable! The little guys and the older ones were fabulous!
man I love this group even more, amazing transparency!!! this movie is great!!!
Bobby knew he was effin up, why he acting all innocent like he don't know why they cut him out lol
Princess Rodriquez He truly doesn't get it. None of them accept their part in the discord. They all think it's the other guy.
Monica Rance I was thinking the same thing. They all keep blaming each other lol
THEY WERE CORRUPTED FROM OUTSIDE EVILS....SIGNIN BUM DEALS STARTIN WITH MAURICE STAR AND JUMP SHOOT PRODUCTIONS BILL DURN PLUS JHERYL BUSBY...HE DIED UNDER STRESS
BOBBY HAD THE RIGHT TO BE PISSED....THO HE CONDUCTED HIMSELF FOUL OBNOXIOUS HE WAS TIRED OF GITTIN PAID PEANUTS AND POPCORN BESIDES GROUPIES ALCOHOL AND WEED...THOSE CHAPERONES HAD TO BE SNEEKIN DAT WEED TO NEW EDITION
I hate how Jump & Shoot Production were portrait. There was no Gary Evans. It was Martin Machat, Steven Machat, Bill Dern & Rick Smith. They were the managers that made Bobby leave, they were the managers that wanted to market New Edition to white american teens, they were the managers forcing that Blue Moon album on us. It no wonder Bobby rebelled. Look at how they made them dress. Look at the All for Love cover. Bobby is the only one being a hood kid on that cover. Steven Machat actually managed Bobby after leaving. He is the one who put out that Ralph singing Every Little Step rumor.
Ronnie is aging well!
Rena Williams yes, he still looks the same
Rena Williams not with that big ass forehead
Rena Williams Mike, Ricky, and Ronnie look great aging
King's Queen True! Can't say the same about Ralph! Hmmmm
NOT THAT BIG ADS FOREHEAD HE'S NOT
I always loved new edition but after seeing the movie i grew more love for them seeing their story & all the stuff they went thru
Much RESPECT to NEW EDITION,(Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, Ralph, & Johnny), and all entertainers who endure pain and stress on our behalf.
they need to do a En Vogue movie on BET too
The movie as a whole was very good . It showed everybody true side . Love when yall song Can you Stand the rain . Love that song . One of yall best to me.
This was the very best biography I've seen! better than Aaliyah, TLC, the temptation and Whitney Houston. Damn good job.
You must've watched the wrong the temptation.
I loved this one as well but the Temptations is one of my favorites
ima let you finish, but I gotta say that Love new edition, but the JACKSONS had one of the greatest Black music biopics of all time!!!(in my Kanye West voice)
Cy B Don't forget Little Richard, James Brown, Notorious B.I.G. and Ray Charles.
Oh naw not the temps😂 let's not get carried away
Ralph said "doing Bobby Brown shit" lmao! We are still fascinated with Bobby til this day. I guess Bobby was NE's David Ruffin, better ending I hope.
I busted out cause we all know what that means 😂😂😂
in the whip snortin coco gettin dome...bobby brown a beast for that 😂😂😂
I just finished watching this incredible story of New Edition. I tell you I havent seen a story told like this since the Temptations. I was able to watch T.V. again and enjoy it with family. also living those years over again reminising about things that happend during those times and singing along with the songs we all grew up with during the movie. I thank New Edition and BET for putting together such a historical musical event.
Bobby wasn't about to sell himself short he knew he was a star in the making now he had a messed up way going about it but he had confidence in himself
😂Rizz said, he just started doin bobby brown sh!t😂😂😂. Damn Bobby got his own label. To turn up means to Bobby Brown it. He was the original hell raiser.
Out of all the comments I've read, I didn't see anyone comment about Ricky Bell and his bout with cocaine and especially in the bathroom on the floor. My heart REALLY went out to him. My prayer is that, NO, none of them are going to forget everything that's happened...but PLEASE forgive each other. Time is too short and too much stuff is happening to be holding grudges and being mad.
dammmmm Bobby lmfao.. straight savage on stage.. grabbing mics, Talking shit on stage fighting on stage.. boy oh boy.. getting my popcorn ready lol
that was a very good movie it showed how best friends go through some things but remain loyal to each other thank GOD for each other cause he put ya together, luv u guys and b good to each other life to short
All jokes aside I am very impressed over the past few years how Bobby Brown evolve despite the hard hits he took with his ex-wife and kids dying this man is also human I also think he can make a good comeback as well my cousin met him one time at a concert up in Detroit years ago and said he literally went out his way to come and say hi to him because he wanted to comment on the outfit my cousin was wearing and said he was a very down-to-earth person believe it or not
Bobby Brown lie to much
I love that they are all so real and just told it like it was...not bashing each other, just saying what it was. Most people will try to glaze it over. Much respect!
I was at the concert in Oakland when Bobby Brown sang mr telephone man for about 20+ min New Edition had the lights shut down Bobby ran off the stage & the rest followed & then fighting lol damn memories...
Midnight Blac Did guns really go off at the concert as in the movie?
Wrong tour
Wow...this must have been therapeutic for them. Notice that not once did Bobby deny that the portrayal of him was accurate...getting rid of Bobby and bringing in Johnny was the best thing that could have happened for the group. I remember seeing them in concert at Madison Square Garden in the '80s with Al B Sure and Bobby. Bobby performed solo and with the group. And he showed out as usual. Nothing but love for these young men.
Dede.. What you have to remember is one of the reason why this movie is so good, is because the whole group was on the set telling their story through the actors. It's almost like an autobiography movie.
Mike and yazz have the same voice or is it just me
Tatiana Franklin yes they sound just alike. He did a great job portraying him.
Ugh. I pray that you all reach forgiveness and healing for one another. Your fans love you so much! We respect you for the music you've given us. Be strong guys!
Finishing with the BET 25 Special was great. Even though they changed Bob's performance at the end. In reality, Ralph and Ronnie backed up Bob and the rest came out at the very end.
Very emotional for me...great biopic .....very very real..
Real good movie. Good portrayal by those young men. Good trip down memory lane. NE & their solo albums had hit after hit.
30 years from now, we'll be watching the Chris Brown story...and we'll find out what really happened in the car that night with Rihanna.
CocoaBae 86 I know 1 thing ... it wasn't domestic violence...it was a fight!
He talked about it in his documentary on netflix. You can look up the scene on youtube
CocoaBae 86 Yep. It's funny how it takes that many years for truth to come out.
CocoaBae 86 Rihanna head butted the shit out of Chris breezy that night
Exactly
The NE Movie was great!! I'm a white guy from New Orleans who loves rock & roll BUT! I also love Michael Jackson, New Edition, Rick James who I saw in concert in the Louisiana Superdome back in 1982. I'm 51 & back then people my age know you didn't have cameras everywhere you went so we got away with so many things! I'm talkin about sex, drugs & rock & roll!! Great times!! Other groups I grew up with, Cameo, Midnight Star, etc.
I Loved the movie! And ive always been a fan of the group..their talent..their hard work and dedocation. It all paid off !
it was great it make you cry they are something to be proud of.
It was so so good! You can tell there was compassion in the group, hard work and yall wanted to entertain, and I appreciate ev'thing you brought to us!! When you have a group of people, esp'ly as young, you're going to have a difference of opinion - no matter what. Ya'll went through those ups and downs and still came together and was able to capture many hearts of the people cause that's what you wanted to do. Nods to the cast cause they did the work baby! They acted and sang their hearts and was goooood at it, OMG!!
They still beefin smh lol come on guys y'all are brothers
Bobby was an entertainer, let's not forget lol
I always wondered what happened with them i was always looking for their performance's and latest music and now I see there was deeper issues but I'm glad they were all able to work through and are all still here its never too late to repair and come back together I got so much l❤ve for these guys and their story
They first did free shows in most metropolitan cities ...Carver Middle School in Delray bch Florida. ..it was a memory i will never forget!
This is an excellent biopic.. everything was all put together brilliantly. I am glad that the members of the group were all involved in this movie and I like how the members reflected on what happened simply by working with these actors to captured those moments.
Now I just watch all the parts for the #NEWEDITIONSTORY now I can't wait for the #Boyz2Men bio pic
Boyz2Men would be nice, but I want to see an EnVogue one. I bet there was a lot of knock down, drag outs, that we nothing about:)
verbatimmags Mint condition would be popping
That's true Fredrick. I hadn't thought about them. I know that EnVogue had issues with their label as well (Sylvia Rhone), and also the stuff among themselves. I bet a movie about those 4 Divas would give those "Housewives" franchise a run for their money. I bet reality tv can't hold a candle up to the the real reality of the 4 Funky Divas:)
BTW I am listening to a new #BBD song right now featuring #Boyz2Men. It's called One more Try
May Flower Jodeci would be better. KC is like Bobby Brown. alot of drama which is good for tv
My poor babies are so dysfunctional. I wish they would communicate more without anger but at this stage in the game I doubt that will magically happen. I am just glad that they keep it together enough for us fans. #NE4life
Love the Way New addition work together to get the true story this is the best biography so far on TV I love this biography great job BET
Ralph's solo career should have blown up! He sung a lot of Bobby's parts on Bobby's album. Go play Every Little Step and you'll hear him.
GorgeouslyReal T.V. 1 verse.... and nah he should’ve had a better producer
@@kawhileonard6 thank you.
I really enjoyed watching this 3 day mini series. Thanks New Edition for your many years of hard work. I've been a fan since I was about ten years old and I'm 44 now 😍
I really enjoyed watching this!! It was a great performance and I enjoyed seeing how they matured and kept the friendship.
Best biopic I have seen. Plain & Simple.
Biv and Bryshere sounds just alike with their speaking voice !
Damn they have been through a lot 💖💖💖NewEdition💖💖
Ill Nyx SHOW BUSINESS IS SUCH A ROLLERCOASTER
The movie didn't give me a good idea as to why Bobby acted that way. His book clarifies his behavior a bit more, though.
Kory Green thank you. BBD fans want to act like we are crazy. It wasn't ALL Bobby. I wonder if he is pleased with how the movie portrayed things. Guarantee you he is not. Something is going on with Ralph too. They don't fool with those dudes like that.
summerpassion1 Have you seen how skinny Ralph's face has gotten? I know he was always a slim dude, but he looks sick now.
these guys had everything to do with the script.they coached the guys portraying them, and if you look at the credits...they are all executive producers. bell, biv, devoe was on the morning show and said all of them had to sign off on the movie,or nothing was happening.bobby was the last to sign off.so everything in the movie they agreed with.only thing the rest of them didn't know was about maurice wanting to give ralph a solo deal from the start!
Kory Green He is almost in his fifties he's getting old.
That's because Bobby only allowed so much in the movie. He plans on doing his own movie bio. BET barely got him to commit to this.
Good job BET movie was on point.👍
Finally a good Biopic. Straight outta Compton wasn't even close.
mooky That was trash as hell, I was disappointed, because it was the actual members of the group involved with directing, and writing the movie. I feel like it was so much more.. things that were left out, and one-sided. I don’t know.
Love this interview. Great movie.
I think Johnny Gil was the best thing to happen for NE. Not knocking Bobby or Ralph, but Johnny held his own.
i enjoyed this miniseries and i am glad that they were finally able to bring it on screen
I fucking LOVE NE! Ralph and Mike are my faves (Ralph's my boo and Mike is my big bro in my head😂😂).
Great Interview BET ... Thanks
i still listen to jg. he's been on my pandora.. ne story took me back now they are on my Pandora
damn Johnny all iced out and shiitt💎💎❄❄
This was a great movie of their story! I enjoyed it all the way through!
Just finished watching The New Edition Story and man I loved it..so many memories came flooding back!!!
This movie was excellent! I DVRd it...watched it three times so far, and can't wait for the DVD!
It's amazing how someone can be bad luck to other group to losing his career drugs wife daughter getting shot man this is too much Bobby I think u need to start praying cus your life timeline something wrong with it Bobby a strong man the fact that he s still alive.
One of the greatest movie's ever made!
Seems like it was a communications problem.
Love that Ralph T. is wearing them Ralph L. shades with his name on it.
This story is just like the Temptations story with another great singer David Ruffin. Both stories are exactly alike. David Ruffin was my favorite Temp and Bobby Brown was my favorite New Edition (Except for when a homeboy Johnny Gill from DC joined the group).
love tht movie
David Ruffin and Bobby Brown are not the same. Why do people keep saying that? Ruffin was a lead singer. Bobby wasnt. Ruffin wanted the Temps to change their name to David and the Temps, Bobby just wanted him time on stage and more parts on songs. Bobby wasnt trying to be the main lead, he just wanted more parts to shine. Him being dropped from the group was a lot of pressure, because he didnt want to leave. David wanted out of the Temps but on his own terms. Otis and them beat him to the punch. Bobby and David's stories are not even similar. Bobby started New Edition. David was a replacement in the Temps.
Yep David Ruffin & Bobby Brown's stories are nothing a like. You are right David Ruffin was not an original member he replace that Alvin guy. Bobby made New Edition with Ricky & Mike. Bobby was supposed to be lead but Maurice Starr made Ralph the lead, Jump & Shoot continued that format.
Coolyfett but they both were rebellious in their own way so that they did have in common
David was the lead though. He did must of the hits. Ralph was the lead of New Edition. Bobby didn't rebel against the group, he rebelled against the management. David wanted a complete name change. Nothing alike. y'all gotta think deeper.
@@FlyiDCG actually, David and Bobby ultimately rebelled against the group. Both started out against management and being controlled in the creativity. Then, both started rebelling against the group. Y not showing up and acting crazy. If everyone in a group is one board to keep doing what management wants and you're the one person that's against it, then you are rebelling against the group by acting out on stage and other places.
My take on Bobby and the group dynamic is much different than David and the group dynamic. Management for New Edition wanted Bobby gone, with the members struggling with that. Motown didn't really want David out of The Temps, but the group did because he was messing with their money. Look at both when the years pass. The guys from New Edition were enablers of Bobby's behavior. Anytime New Edition did something, they always gave Bobby a special spot to do his thing apart from the group. If you looked at The Temps, when David was gone, he was gone. They reluctantly had that reunion tour, David acted up again, and never sang with the Original Temps again. The group just wasn't having it.
@@Keepdapocket David and Bobby are not the same at all. This creativity thing you speak of doesn't apply to the Temps, as David wasn't trying to make different music, he just wanted his name featured as the star of the group similar to Diana Ross. David never had a beef with Shelly, he had beef with Otis. Bobby on the other hand didnt like what Jump & Shoot production (Bill Dern) was forcing New Edition to sing and how to dress. Bobby didn't want to leave NE, he just wanted more parts because Ralph did most of the leads. David was a lead singer, Bobby was not.
why are ppl so critical of other ppl's looks? Ralph could possibly be going through something we have no clue about
Mike Biv really loved Bob Brown
Cause he shows it in this video and in the behind the music special
Love you new edition!
This had a lot of insight.
Mike has a point New Edition wouldn't ended Bobby leave that got Johnny
All the members of new Editon own the trademark
This is the best Bio Pic ever so real ..... and I think there should be Part 4 and 5 starting from 2005 up-to 2017 until they got the Hollywood walk of Fame . BET well done!!
im just glad bobby signed on. because if he didnt im sure he would of been trying to sue for defamation of character lol.
The need to make a CashMoney movie series. They got a lot material from BG to the HotBoyz, Juvenile going solo, Turk and BG arrested, Manny Fresh leaving, Lil Wayne becoming huge, Birdman stealing all the money etc.
Good job bet finally a good movie 👏🏽
Best movie ever period
that was deep I loved it
I love all them but I love bobby brown as well 😂😂
I wonder is Ralph Tresvant health ok
Mike may have not been the lead singer in NE but he was a smart businessman!!!
Boyz II Men ABC BBD
An East Coast Family!!!
This the most I ever seen Ralph talk about NE.
Bobby brown is doing solid gold performance
Like Bobby brown did stuff solid performance on soul train
Now I know why big black was saying he looked like Johnny gill lmaooo
Wish Bobby was on the HeartBreak album...
Don't laugh y'all but Mike could play the hell outta JayZ in a movie if he lose 5 pounds and deepen his voice and he gotta get that "JayZ" laugh down pack 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
YESSSSS😫😂😂😂
Good to see. B brown.
rahsaan hill Bobby is doing real well he has own food company and I am very proud of him
