- The MASSIVE BEAST ironically named Dolly is a custom Mercedes Unimog retired ambulance upgraded and converted by Motorcraft an Overland Camper Motorhome RV builder. This motorhome was built in Scotland Imported from Liverpool to The Port of Newark New Jersey. Dan and Geraldine are traveling North and Central America full time in this rig over the next two years. The outside is rugged and tough and the inside is elegant and high quality with high-end appliances and precision design.

The best part of this showing was how sweet & pleased his wife is & how proud he seems to be of his tiny home on wheels & also of her. Really fun to watch them. I kept thinking how nice it would be to meet them out traveling.

Great energy! They’re like a couple of teenagers that are in love and getting started with their new life. Their motorhome is built like a tank and very nice. They might want to think about getting some type of hand rail on the stairs. Another great video Patrick!

They have room for a mini split no problem.
We have already found it getting really hot inside so have started with an air chiller and fan. I suspect you are exactly right though that we will need AC sooner rather than later.

Back in the days when I was in the military we use to drive those Unimogs and Oskosh trucks. They are incredible beasts I did never get stuck not even in mud or sand and believe me I did try thousends of times an No No. They just kept going you just deflate the tires with the CTIS just push couple buttons and there you go. When you done just push the highway set up again and tires inflate back to 70 psi.

Thanks Taprica. We saw another truck that MotorCraft had done in this Subaru blue colour and we just thought yep that’s what we want. (It was maybe in part because we loved our old Unimog “Big Blue” so much) Anyhow…
the other Motorcraft vehicle’s Metal work was black. When they suggested anthracite for ours we immediately agreed and I must say we love it 😍
Have so much fun!!! We have been touring/ living in our mog for over a year full time. I built the whole thing myself. Partner myself and our cat. Enjoy every moment of it and every single person you come across coming and asking things about it. Haha. I built a slide out deck on the side and a huge custom canvas awning. Doubles the living space completely and gives a nice area to sit outside and cook up off the ground. This build of yours is spectacular! Much higher quality than ours. But I built it all on a huge budget as I’m only 30. But we couldn’t spend another day in traffic going to jobs we just couldn’t have passion for. Enjoy your new much deserved life! And let you be blessed by the unimog reliability gods =)

We would love to have done it sooner but only discovered Unimogs around 3 years ago and had 3 children to raise first.
We would also preferred to have built it ourselves but with full time jobs we might have had to wait another 5 years.

That is an amazing vehicle. It looks like a tank. Ready for the any adventure I hope it's not to heavy to go up mountains. To bad it only goes up to 50 miles an hour. 70 miles would of been better. But it's nice either way. I hope it has good mileage. Because of gas prices now it's going to cost you a pretty penny to fill it up

Wow my story is exactly the same, I had no symptoms my Doctor noticed my PSA had risen 1 point in 2 years from 1.4 to 2.4 and as a precaution sent me to a urologist and a 12 sample biopsy revealed at the age of 57 I had prostate cancer . I had a 4 hour surgery no chemo and 18 months later I am still cancer free. A few months after my surgery we bought a bumper pull RV and are currently part time warriors until I can convince the wife otherwise.

As am I! Honestly, I've probably watched almost all of your tour videos, but just to be sure I'll be bingeing them this weekend lol I've also got an RV and a Bus; ideally, the RV is for me and my 4 kids to live in and the Bus will be used to rent out as like a B&B or something as a side hustle.
I think the biggest problem, regarding my RV anyway, is that I live in a small town, on an island, in a rainforest in Alaska, called Ketchikan. It doesn't get much more remote than this and putting such a big vehicle on the ferry and getting it to the mainland is the biggest hurdle.
I figure I'll worry about crossing that bridge when I come to it though; I'm not even close to finishing my RV lol

Wow, what a great tour! That Unimog is awesome! Dan and Geraldine seem like such wonderful people, too, and I hope they have a great adventure. Thanks so much to them for the encouragement to get tested for prostate cancer, too. Scary stuff, but definitely better to catch it really early.

Sunday May 29th 2022 you Geraldine and Dan were within an hour of my home. You followed I-90 through Rockford Illinois and I am about 30 miles west near Freeport Illinois. Unfortunately I just seen this video at 6pm and your already at Madison WI. Hope you enjoy your travel through the USA. Scotland and Ireland are two places I would love to visit. You may want to take a day in the Baraboo-Wisconsin Dells area. Its only an hour from downtown Madison. Stay safe out there.

We just escaped Yellowstone after being evacuated during the floods. I don’t think even Dolly would have coped with those floods……

I thought you had taken leave, you have been so quiet. Turns out that you have been busy uploading videos and RUclips fell asleep. Because they do that a bit too often, I have taken to popping over to channels I follow who have been quiet for longer than usual. Glad I did! I just made it to your home page and I see 3 more videos that I have missed, so I have some binge watching to do this morning to catch up. But that’s okay! Nothing makes me smile quicker than a UniMog, so what a great way to start my day!
Until I can afford one of these, I picked up a Ford Super Duty E-450 which isn’t a 550 or a 650 but I am not bleeding to death. I am just starting the build and will take it to California to get it lifted, beef up the suspension and maybe put 4WD on it. I don’t want to use a ladder to get in, which would be ridiculous for a little old lady to be driving a Monster Truck but I do want it high enough to get to some of my favorite places without getting into trouble. Near the passenger steps the ground clearance is 13” which is a guarantee to high center so I want a little more freedom of movement but not for competition or anything close. Just to avoid getting myself into trouble when I turn off the highway. The only place I know who can do that competently is the guys in So Cal. I don’t suppose you know of a crew here on the East side of the Mississippi, do you, that can do that kind of job?
Fantastic couple! They are both so proud of their truck. I Would Be, Too!!! Heading to NY in a couple of weeks so this was very well timed. I am taking the kids into the city and was trying to remember where this parking spot is. Now I remember! Remember? Now I have been reminded!
