40 lb bag of salt for water softener. Comes in pellets. I drilled holes into a stump like this and stuffed each hole with pellets. Used brown sugar on the top. They dug the stump out of the ground, now it’s an old stuff in a salt water hole.

You're attracting them so that you can hunt them? Thumbs down.

Bait isn't a guarantee, deer quickly adapt to hunting and become nocturnal. Also some areas it is good to keep the herd size down, I've seen places where they overpopulate and everything edible in reach is gone and the deer are undersize and skinny.

Even "on the cheap" you are around $1.50/lb. I just use this - "American Stockman Champion's Choice Selenium 90 Trace Mineral Salt 50 lb. $12.99" from Tractor Supply for around $.26/lb. The deer love it. I have too many bears to use the Kool Aid.

I have heard the bears like it. We don’t have many bears here. So I don’t have to worry about it. I have seen 1. 4 years ago in my driveway.
