Sometimes I may go 5 years between cups of coffee and sometimes I drink it everyday a few months. You have the kindest husband I have ever seen.
Brooke, I'm glad you figured the egg 🥚 mystery out. So the nest isn't made for both of them switching out. And now the egg is back under them and we just wait. I hope we get a little baby. That dessert looked really good.
My grandmother, back in the '50s, would never throw anything away that was useful. Having raised six children during the depression, she learned to use everything. I was working in their garden, one Saturday, and was called in for lunch and was served a grey jiggling cube for dessert. I looked at it kinda funny and grandma took it away, sprinkled some sugar on it with dollop of whipped cream and said "now taste it ", so I did. It was coffee jello! And it was amazing.
The chance that the netting caught.. and saved that egg

What I googled said the parents are notoriously clumsy with their eggs and chicks. Prayers for their baby.
Makes sense that the egg fell off. Hope the new baby still hatches, if it doesn't it's not your fault. The Victoria Crown Pidgeons are new to this and so are you!
I love it when long standing couples discover something new about each other/ the relationship of minimal consequence. Things like realizing the other hasnt made coffee when you come to think of it on second thought.
Maybe Jason wakes up earlier (+makes coffee)real early!

Me too, I cried some, I thought it was like finding long lost family. They’ve always said cattle are herding animals, that was proved. I initially worried because Moody was so big and Mildred so small, it’s uplifting to see that wasn’t a problem.

Hello Cog Hill family! Ahhh, a girl after my own heart! I was raised making my own whipped cream...the canned type never had occurred to me until recently. The only difference was that Mom used to put just a pinch of salt in the cream. :) I'll try this coffee gelatin!! And, so good you found the egg...hope you didn't get pecked!

Instead of a box maybe you could add large limbs under the nest to keep it more stable. Since that’s where they seem to like.

Wow Brooke you are always there to help your animals when they need you the most…I am very grateful for that…I wonder if you and Jason could make a sturdier structure for the nest by using some of the large to medium tree branches from the farm …. If you cut them on an angle or notch them they can be secured together…perhaps the VCPigeons would like that natural structure….of course this will be done after their current nesting time. Thank you for the update, blessings to you and your family.

In the nick of time! Glad you found it. I think it will hatch this time. Suggestion: purchase some cooling towels for you, Jason, and Mary Carl. They do work to keep you cooler.
When my mom was very young.. in the 50's. She was to bring a coffee cake to the church bake sale. She didn't understand she needed to make coffee. She just added the coffee grounds!!!!😅

I am 76 years old and when I was a child my gram made coffee jello every Saturday as we would go over for Sunday night supper. I even have pastel anchor hocking pedestal dessert cups she would put it in. My favorite.
Did she serve her jello plain or add a topping?
She served it plain or just with whipped cream, except gramp who added vanilla or coffee ice cream

Hey~！Thanx for introducing Coffee Jelly! (I'm from Japan) Big summer time dessert! Usually we cut up the jelly into cubes and put it in milk (or cream) and add syrup. OR cut it up in chunks, put inside a Sundae type Cup - add whip cream (or vanilla ice cream) and top it with coco powder. ☺ YUM~~
