Please don't take any notice of criticism from ignorant people; it is very obvious you are doing the best you can ;the amount of time and trouble you go to is amazing.
I’ve actually never seen any criticism on this channel- not in any of the comments here today . It’s one of the most positive channels with positive followers on RUclips!
Look at you go girl. Cuttin’ it up. Bummer about the egg. Maybe they are still learning about being parents. Maybe they kicked the egg out knowing it wasn’t gonna make it? Have a blessed day. Glad you are feeling better!❤️🤍💙❣️🤍💙
lol...yeah...please surprise us...lol I am wayyy too emotionally invested in this! But it's only because I love your animals and am fascinated by these birds!!
Don't give up! The third time is a charm. Make a big box in that area. We can handle the ups and the downs. We are with you, Brooke, on this journey. Don't keep us out.
Great nest box! You’re so thoughtful of all your birds and animals. With all the hard work you do for their care, it warms my heart my heart! Continue showing the crown pigeons nesting.
Your viewers, including me, are already involved in the life-story about these Victorian Crown Pigeons. Please continue to report on these birds. If you don’t, it would be like tearing out the last few chapters of a good novel that you already have begun to read. I’d like you to reconsider your decision.
❤yes, please let us be a part of the next chapter ❤😊❤ of the Victorian Crown Pigeons. Unless it was too exhausting for you to share. Then we want you to take care of our Brooke. ❤
This is really heartbreaking. It is so confusing too as it was developing so well for some time. I guess even the parents have a hard time getting the egg to successfully hatch. Maybe they need to be a bit more mature. Who knows. Maybe next time. xxxx
Hi Brooke, too bad about the baby bird. One day, Cog Hill will get a baby crown Victorian baby. Hopefully, next time. Those little baby goats grew up fast.
I know Brooke and Jason are more disappointed than we are. The sturdy platform was a brilliant idea! Kudos to Bonus Mom Brooke! Since the 2 VCPs observed Brooke and Jason installing their new 'birthing room platform' hopefully they will learn the Smith's version of Teamwork and the next egg will be viable.
Thank you for always being positive and sharing with us. Nature will let them have the baby when it’s time and we will all be here for it. Love y’all. Be good ❤
Brooke Jason and Mary Carl, we all know you always do your best for the animals in your care, sad but I am sure they will try again hun, just like nugget and goldie will! And we will be there with you when it happens! Best to you all xxx
You tried your best Brooke and thank you taking us along. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the egg - it was great seeing the inside of this egg. We are here to share in your joys and in your sadness because we are here for you Jason and MC. God bless you as you continue to take care of His creation. His Peace
From all I've heard and read, VC pigeons often have a hard time figuring out parenting. Sometimes it takes several years for them to successfully hatch an egg and then a couple of years after that to actually raise a chick to maturity. I'm kind of surprised the egg developed as far as it did. I guess what I'm trying to say is ya'll are doing just fine. Don't get discouraged. They will figure it out.
Aww that sucks! You take so good care of them, and accidents do happen. As sad as it is, you know now that they CAN produce offspring, they just need to not roll their egg out of the nest no more!
Good morning all. Sorry for the Victorian pigeons. I would put a shade cloth over the next to protect them from the sun. Hope next time will be the one and have a baby Victorian pigeon.
Morgan at Gold Shaw farm is having trouble hatching his goslings too, almost at the same time frame as your Pigeon looks to have got to. You sure are helping them propagate, doing everything.
Brooke, sorry about the Victorian Crown pigeon egg. Hopefully they will consider the new nesting box you built as a 'five star resort' for their next baby! ❤😊
Each time there’s progress. First time the entire egg disappeared. This time it didn’t thrive, but you know it was fertilized and developing before it failed to thrive. With the new nesting box and shade cloth hopefully the next egg they lay will go full term and produce a living baby.
Well darn. Sorry about the egg. At least you know they are capable of breeding. Hopefully you’ll get a successful hatching soon. God Bless them for trying so hard.
Oh no. So sad and sorry to hear this. Not the outcome we wanted. I do appreciate the documentation of real life. Sometimes life throws us several curve balls and strikes until we hit that home run. Helps to know I’m not the only one experiencing this day to day stuff. Sending y’all and those sweet birds hugs.
There's always a next time and it could be the charm with a hatched egg and a baby crown pigeon. All the best, God bless and good luck. Prayers and fingers crossed. 🙏🏼✝🛐🐦🐦
Yes Brooke third time's a charm👍. I think all the improvements that you are making will help make it a successful hitch. And the addition of the shade cloth will add a lot of comfort for them...
That's so sad. But I know you won't give up. They'll build another nest, maybe some where else . I know this broke your heart but I think you're on the right track.
I am so sorry their baby didn't survive but I'm glad you have designed a new nest for them! I'm praying this new baby will survive! The Cog Squad has definitely had a lot of HOPE for this to become a reality!!❤
At least you know the egg was furtile. So sorry it didn't mature. When is their normal time nesting in the wild. Early spring or later? They may not want to try again this late. would shade cloth over it help?
I gather that they like to be hidden while nesting. Maybe enclose the shaded area or move them closer to the corner and plant taller bushes outside. Hope this is helpful. This is from the Louisville Zoo website. Nests are solid, compact, and built of dead stems, sticks, and leaves. They are low to the ground, usually about 12-50 feet from ground level. They prefer areas with tall hedges and thickets to woodlands.
If you go back and watch the videos in their history, you'll find out why that location was chosen. They actually spoke to a keeper after they weren't laying in the sheltered location and this is what was decided. It worked and they started laying.
Keep on sharing. We’ve come this far with you We don’t want to be left out on the next trial. Please. I consider the baby bird a positive thing. They will get it right eventually
Please don't take any notice of criticism from ignorant people; it is very obvious you are doing the best you can ;the amount of time and trouble you go to is amazing.
Agreed, Lord, didn’t anyone ever tell them if you can’t say anything nice don’t say it? I’m sure Brooke is devastated 🙏🏻🩵
Very well said. Amen.
Agreed
I don’t think there will be a problem if it’s not the last one. It doesn’t matter Brooke, your birds, your farm. God bless.
I’ve actually never seen any criticism on this channel- not in any of the comments here today . It’s one of the most positive channels with positive followers on RUclips!
Don’t hesitate to report an egg. This is real life on a farm, good for educating people on that.
❤❤Very encouraging that the egg was fertile! It will happen.
They may have pushed the egg out other day cause they already knew baby was gone
That's my thoughts....
Hello Brooke, the baby didn't die from the fall. The baby died naturally, they know it and they kicked the egg out of the nest.
That totally makes sense.
Was thinking the same
At least the egg was fertile, they will continue to try.😊
Brooke - Mary Carl may be the bird expert, but you are the bird nanny! Thank you for all you do for your animals, AND for sharing with us!
lol. Love it!! Bird Nanny. U got that right!!
@@peggysmith5202❤yes yes yes! We do get to witness the absolute best Nanny in the whole wide world ❤😊
so sorry about the baby... BUT now you know they can have a baby... I think 3rd times a charm!! next one will be a success!!
Hey don't give up....keep showing the Crown Pigeons
That's sad, but it is their second egg. Maybe 3rd time is the charm.
Brooke I enjoy the stories about the VCP it is the opportunity to learn new things that I would not have known about otherwise. Thanks❤❤
lol...yeah...please surprise us...lol I am wayyy too emotionally invested in this! But it's only because I love your animals and am fascinated by these birds!!
Don't give up! The third time is a charm. Make a big box in that area. We can handle the ups and the downs. We are with you, Brooke, on this journey. Don't keep us out.
So sorry Brooke hopefully next time we will succeed.❤
You’ve provided a great home for the Crown Vic’s Brooke. Hugs
Oh, so sad😢 But please keep showing everything that happens in the future… it’s very educational.
Great nest box! You’re so thoughtful of all your birds and animals. With all the hard work you do for their care, it warms my heart my heart! Continue showing the crown pigeons nesting.
Mrs. Cog Hill "Gitter Done" Farm. :D
Of course you should show us when another egg comes! I loved watching both times. We’re in this with you guys!
I know you’re so disappointed. We are, too. But, please keep showing us. I so enjoy it! And, YES, the third time is the charm! 🙏🏻

Sorry to hear about no baby Victorian crown pigeon
Hi Brooke, too bad about the baby bird. One day, Cog Hill will get a baby crown Victorian baby. Hopefully, next time. Those little baby goats grew up fast.
Aww...we're getting closer to a baby. Maybe the 3rd time is the charm❤

Go, Mrs Cog!
Three times a charm, hoping for success.
Good morning Brooke, sorry about the Victorian crown pigeons. Blessings to Cog Hill and all the fur/feather babies.
Thank you for always being positive and sharing with us. Nature will let them have the baby when it’s time and we will all be here for it. Love y’all. Be good ❤

Ooooh noooo! So sad to see the title of your video. Maybe next year. 😢❤
Aww that sucks! You take so good care of them, and accidents do happen. As sad as it is, you know now that they CAN produce offspring, they just need to not roll their egg out of the nest no more!
Keep showing the pigeons 😁
Hi Brooke. The VC pigeons are learning. I’m sure that they will be proud pigeon parents soon. Keep up the good work and good care.
Thank you for sharing the egg and the story of the VCPs. I want to know when they lay again.
Good morning all. Sorry for the Victorian pigeons. I would put a shade cloth over the next to protect them from the sun.
Hope next time will be the one and have a baby Victorian pigeon.
I feel it will happen third time's a charm❤❤❤ God bless you all. God bless those Victoria Crown pigeons with a baby❤
Morgan at Gold Shaw farm is having trouble hatching his goslings too, almost at the same time frame as your Pigeon looks to have got to. You sure are helping them propagate, doing everything.
Maybe the Victoria Crowne pigeons are just practicing? So sorry Brooke😔 Please always let us know when they sit Brooke 🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
Never quit Brooke making changes and discovering improvements always helps .
Brooke, sorry about the Victorian Crown pigeon egg. Hopefully they will consider the new nesting box you built as a 'five star resort' for their next baby! ❤😊
So sorry, it’s amazing how they just quit sitting on the nest! Thank you!
So sad, but nature happens. You are doing everything you can. Thanks for keeping us updated, I hope you all have a great rest of the week.
Don’t give up, Brooke! I’m sure those two pigeons won’t give up.
3rd time is the charm, put a new dead tree in there.
I agree. Never give up, even if you’re birds in love.💖
I’m so sorry about the egg!!!! But there was a baby in there so we know they are capable!! And yay on the new nesting box!!! 3rd times the charm ❤❤❤
Great job brooke on the new victorian nest platform......now lets just let nature take its course girl.❤❤❤❤❤
They may have known the baby died and kicked it out
I think so too
Agree
Possibly!
I agree.
I would agree with that! Nature is ingrained in the wildlife. So that is a very good possibility!
Sad that the little egg didn't make it to hatching but there's still hope now with the new box. Good luck.
This is it. Until next time. 😊
Never give up 😊
The new/old nest is amazing, praying it's just the ticket. 💕
Don't give up Brook, third time will be charm! And please don't keep it from us..we can handle it. ❤

The third time is the charm Brooke! Keep trying, we believe in you.
Mother Nature is a tricky thing also Scott is stunning
Aww I’m sorry, Brooke. ❤️
Great Job 🤞🏽
Each time there’s progress. First time the entire egg disappeared. This time it didn’t thrive, but you know it was fertilized and developing before it failed to thrive. With the new nesting box and shade cloth hopefully the next egg they lay will go full term and produce a living baby.
Good idea to put the old nest in the new box ❤ 3rd time is the charm 😊.
Bless your heart Brooke! If a baby does not hatch out, it’s not because you did not try! Praying they build another nest and a ❤ hatches out!🐦
Ya'll are a team to help the birds
Too bad about the egg; however now you have an opportunity to modify the nesting area as you've mentioned before.
Nice job. Educational. Third time's the charge for sure.
Oh that's so sad.Hopefully one day they succeed and hatch an offspring.
There's always a next time and it could be the charm with a hatched egg and a baby crown pigeon. All the best, God bless and good luck. Prayers and fingers crossed. 🙏🏼✝🛐🐦🐦
Third time lucky 🤞you have done all you can for a successful hatch
You did everything you could.
Yes Brooke third time's a charm👍. I think all the improvements that you are making will help make it a successful hitch. And the addition of the shade cloth will add a lot of comfort for them...
It is okay Brooke, someday it will happen
Good morning Brooke. That’s a mystery with the pigeons, maybe next time? 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Sorry Brooke about the egg. 😢 Hopefully, they'll try again.
That's so sad. But I know you won't give up. They'll build another nest, maybe some where else . I know this broke your heart but I think you're on the right track.
So awesome to see you feeling so much better.
Hey again! ❤ Sad news 😢 Good job on the new nesting box. Third time's the charm!!! 🐣
Aw so sorry it didn’t hatch

Brooke, so sorry that the egg failed, but your new platform is great. Third time lucky, we will soon have a chick 😊
So sorry Brooke I believe they will one day as well. ❤🙏
Thank you both so much, inviting us into your beautiful home and family. 😊
You are both good people😍
So sad the egg didn't make it. I am so rooting for the Victorian crown birds to succeed. Thanks for helping them so much, Brooke
❇️💞❇️
At least you know the egg was furtile. So sorry it didn't mature. When is their normal time nesting in the wild. Early spring or later? They may not want to try again this late. would shade cloth over it help?

So sad to hear the chick failed to develop fully! I know they'll try again and hopefully will be successful!
🤞Fingers crossed third times a charm.
Brooke I think the 3rd tome will be a charm. Love the new nesting box.
I like your platform idea.
Your are such a good person..
Keep us posted Brooke

What a great idea for the new nest. Good luck!
So sorry the baby didn't hatch... love you all so much! Continued prayers! God bless ❤
So very sorry, Brooke. The birds are lucky to have you as their advocate.
Keep on sharing. We’ve come this far with you We don’t want to be left out on the next trial. Please. I consider the baby bird a positive thing. They will get it right eventually
