Most of them are. With a few exceptions They all treat there developers horribly and crunch them to oblivion. They don’t care about the player of the user. They just care about impressing investors making a profit.
Recent update: SONY RETRACTED THE PLAYSTATION LINK REQUIREMENT! It was announced a few hours ago on 5/5/2024. There was a massive move by players in the Discord, reddit, and other sites to change their negative reviews back to positive. Both to support the game again, show their love to the devs for helping convince Sony, and to bring in more users into the amazing community of Helldivers.
Steam pulling it from the store, not deleting the negative reviews and giving refunds also played a major part. If this was entirely on Sony's end then they would have not gone back on this dumb decision. GabeN gave them the heat.
And after many years of peace where only a few skirmishes had occurred between some small groups, the console wars begin once more, not due petty debates between gamers but due corporate greed.
Disagreed, because creating EA, Epic Games and Ubisoft accounts on consoles means that your games cross progress over to other platforms, and you can get rewards from playing other games (playing rocket league can give Fortnite rewards, playing games like Extraction can give rewards in Six Siege, etc.) And they don’t even force you to make the accounts to play, it’s just advised that you do.

This whole thing was because Arrowhead wanted to be associated with Sony, and have an ability to more extensively ban people. It isn't just Sony, its Arrowhead too.
Data breaches. Selling private user data. Inflating share prices. Inflating PSN user count. I am and always was an Xbox hater and a PS lover. Now I hate both.
Xbox doesn't really have much of a reason to hate it, sony's breaches and leaks make obvious sense, but the xbox is something odd to hate. (not saying console wars, playstation as a console is fine but the breaches are bad) hating the companies that make them makes sense, but not much can be done considering how many industries they work in relating to tech.
The sad thing is Sony dosent care if Helldivers dies, they want the data, and if the game dies, thats just a missed oppritunity, someone else will make them a good game later.
You have it backwards.. this was arrowheads idea and Sony just went along with it. Because it makes moderation of the game easier for arrowhead, and Sony gets more accounts.

The saddest part of this was, the only drop of players was to countries that were not included as they requested the refund due to coming changes. The number of those players outside of 69 countries is small as evident on steam DB did not show huge drop. It saddened me that most players kept playing instead of stopping for a week to really send a message. What PlayStation saw is that Helldivers 2 is incredibly popular. Obviously the players want to keep playing it. Make it so that they HAVE to have a PSN account, because they would do anything to keep playing Helldivers 2. If anyone with power at Microsoft by happenstance reads this or any similar comment, make that game happen, follow the pre halo 4 art style, make everything consistent with each era and you could have a game of the year title that will likely draw a ton of players now seeing as Sony has ballsed up Helldivers already.

Refund it and give it a bad review (reasons are in different comments)
What PlayStation saw is that Helldivers 2 is incredibly popular. Obviously the players want to keep playing it. Make it so that they HAVE to have a PSN account, because they would do anything to keep playing Helldivers 2.
They think that because people love the game so much, they can get the player base to do whatever PS wants and Sony gets rich off of it.
However, all it’s gonna end up doing is killing Helldivers 2z
It was supposed to be implemented from the beginning and some people did. Now everyone is upset even though EVERY OTHER GAMING COMPANY does the same thing.
Funnily enough, I agree with you. Sony is really just giving helldivers 2 the shaft, and I forsee this being a big issue down the pipeline
@@Equinox-rq3ighow does that boot taste mate?
@@Equinox-rq3ig yeah but it wasn’t. Part of what made it so popular is so many people could play it together.
Had you needed a PSN account from the beginning I doubt it would be as popular.
It was a marketing strategy to hook people on Helldivers 2 and to make them want to do anything to play it more.
It’s pure evil and they know it.
@@brandenmarcum430 not to mention that PSN isn't available everywhere, so some people will lose access to playing Helldivers 2 altogether.
We won divers! We've pushed back the automoton forces codenamed 'Snoy' which attempted to take out a significant portion of our fellow helldivers!
(They said oops nevermind after the whole community instantly abandoned the game and review bombed it as well as mass requesting refunds.)
I don't know why, but after hearing that there are no rewards for doing so, I felt like it was a threat.
We need to boycott or protest or something! We cant let them win from this.
If you start I'll do my part :3
@@garaltxabushi8214you better be doing your part soldier
What can we do exactly? I'm not being full of despair, I want genuine ideas. I'm all for sticking it to them.
Would you like to know more? (If somebody got that reference do let me know).
Protest with your wallet. Get your money back. It's the only language these corporate jackasses speak.
They just announced it isn’t going through, I guess they noticed people weren’t happy
It was a test to see if people really stop playing. They will quietly try again with another game or later on with the same game.
@@joeytruett5250 the numbers didn't even drop, the count was still 100k+.
The 200k negative reviews were probably from people who stopped playing a month ago.

The fact this will be on my birthday and I have a ps5 is just confusing as hell to me tbh. Like Sony wtf?!
I love how the entirety of Helldivers was ruined with A SINGLE update.
So, what drug did all these game company's take to think like this? Because this is how you lose an entire playerbase.
Money
@@rickvanderleck3604what money?!
Money to sniff on
If the entire player base is made up of cry babies like you, yes, I hope it loses them all.
People need to read this was always the plan with helldivers even before they released it
Best not to look at Helldiver’s review if you haven’t already. Ratings Dropped, well, faster than a Helldiver within a span of 48 hours.
That’s good for arrow head and the player base
If they did it from the start that would be one thing, but adding a stipulation to play AFTER the initial purchase is scummy and should be considered breach of contract, even though I know it isn’t.
I completely agree. What really makes me think it should be illegal is the forced deadline too. That feels unbelievably illegal to do to someone who already owns the game. How many people are taking a break from the game, and come back a month from now just to find out they are screwed?
It was in the contract though they were always going to do this
@@EepyBoyoit's not a contract, it's terms and conditions and they don't have that much legal power
Worst part is all the countries where PSN isn’t available. They’re just screwed, oh well!
Actually most countries have laws against this stuff many countries would help u force steam to give a refund if the game is no longer playable at alo
