Thanks. DCS is new but I used to write articles for 10-4 and still do for MovinOut. If you've ever heard of a Fernando that worked for Pittsburgh Power from 2007 to 2015. Well...that's me. I prefer DDEC IV's because the EEPROMs are better, the operating systems have more features and most DDEC IVs don't have a circuit board on the bottom of the case that gets submerged if oil/fuel/water gets in. On the other hand DDEC IIIs don't have a battery to worry about. I have a lot more to say but I'll just do another video as soon as I get the hang of Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas. So your DDEC has no comms huh? Being a 95 you originally had a DDEC III no doubt about that. Besides contaminant damage EEPROM failure is the most common problem with DDEC IIIs. The thing that's funny about your case is once EEPROM failure progresses to the point where comms go down, the truck stops running. The ECM gets "stuck in boot". Think of it like a PC that only shows you the BIOS screen but can't load windows. That said the fact that your truck is still running tells me that your ECM is not stuck in boot and likely has a comms issue. It may need a new multiplexing chip. I can't be sure without looking at it though.

I really don't know how to put this nicely...Let me just say this...The Series 60 DDECIII 4000 rpm program has been around for almost 20 years and the guy who made it was a former DMR employee and never made a version of it that runs on DDEC IVs because he retired before the DDEC IVs came out. His program among many others got on the internet and is now downloaded by Detroit "programmers" who know little more about programming then how to click the "Program ECM" tab from their library of stolen work and hold out their hand to get paid. I've made my own version that turns well over 5000 rpm, produces over 120 degrees of injector pulsewidth, has three switchable stages, runs on DDEC IV hardware and any software version I want. (See my video's intro) I even demonstrated the program on my mobile test bench at the 2016 Mid America Trucking show. I have the only copy, it's dangerous and will never be used on a live engine. If you commit yourself to truly understanding how this technology works you'll find the DDEC part number and software versions don't matter anymore.

DDEC III 60 Series: No cruise control, oil pressure and coolant sensor lights come on intermittently. I've done all obvious tests. ECM is recognizing engine speed, all switches, oil pressure and coolant temp. I switched out the Kysor warning light display, the EDM and both sensors to no avail. I have a fault code 53 and a couple others involving nonvolatile memory. I have gone right down to the ECM but I have no way of truly knowing what the issue is without testing the ECM somehow. What would your next step be in determining if the ECM is the problem?
I could check it out but if I want to stay in business I also need to make money. To make money I need to make repairs and for repairs I need good parts. Try finding good parts for a 30 year old computer. Parts suppliers just aren't interested in making those parts anymore unless you throw $150,000 at them. If you feel your DDEC II series 60 isn't worth the time and investment of doing a DDEC IV conversion then you should look at getting rid of it.

Hello, I have 2 ecm that will run over 4000 rpm. they are only used for competition pulling and racing and never on highway maybe you can call me if that is ok.
The degree I have hasn't been as useful as my experience and experience isn't half as useful as having real passion for this sort of work. If you've got the passion and put the time in rest will come regardless of what kind of degree or former trailing you have.
The DDEC Vs that are on those don't usually have the contamination issues that older and newer (DDECVIs) have. Your internal battery might be getting low but I don't like changing them on a DDEC V unless RTC voltage is less than half a volt or you need to make a write to memory. If your talking about programming...well...in 2010 I was very proud of the work I had done with the DDEC V. In 2013 things changed and since then I can no longer do the kind of DDEC V programming everyone has grown to want. I can improve your horsepower with your current setup but I can't delete anything.
I'm not finding an exact match to that code and it may be passing through an OEM side chassis controller. s214-01 could relate to SID 214 FMI 1 which is triggered by low internal ecm battery voltage. If the DDEC is more than 10 years old there is a good chance the battery in the DDEC could have low voltage.
I have 60 series 1999 peterbrilt with motor fully redone but some time on the it produce unwant power which i dont need on the plain road but not always, turbo boost to full force and the speed guage will dance from 110 km to back 90 km only does when the speed guage is not stable i have changed speed sensor can you help i will pay for ur service
Try unplugging the transmission tailshaft sensor. If after you unplug the sensor the problem gets worse then get someone to disable your vehicle speed limiter. If your problem goes away then you need to run some fresh wires between the DDEC and the tailshaft sensor. If not get progressive shift disabled.
If your Series 60 is an early 98 it could have DDEC III controls, otherwise the 23519307 DDEC IVs are hard to find these days. I've been sold out for months.

Supper fine
What type of degree is required to repair and work with the ECMS specifically. I've currently been working in the field for 5 years .
The degree I have hasn't been as useful as my experience and experience isn't half as useful as having real passion for this sort of work. If you've got the passion and put the time in rest will come regardless of what kind of degree or former trailing you have.
Pls send me ecm internal diagram if u have(Detroit 60 series diesel engine)
What's the cost Of A Tune UP To EMC of a 2006 Freightliner colombia?
The DDEC Vs that are on those don't usually have the contamination issues that older and newer (DDECVIs) have. Your internal battery might be getting low but I don't like changing them on a DDEC V unless RTC voltage is less than half a volt or you need to make a write to memory. If your talking about programming...well...in 2010 I was very proud of the work I had done with the DDEC V. In 2013 things changed and since then I can no longer do the kind of DDEC V programming everyone has grown to want. I can improve your horsepower with your current setup but I can't delete anything.
can anyone tell me what this code is 128s214-01 on a60 series Detroit 430 help please somebody anybody.thx.

I'm getting ready to buy a new ecm for my 98 kw t600 12.7 detroit
If your Series 60 is an early 98 it could have DDEC III controls, otherwise the 23519307 DDEC IVs are hard to find these days. I've been sold out for months.
Hello can I gain fuel economy and increase horsepower and torque
as far as 5000 rpm being dangerous NTPA super semies run up to 6500 rpm. I had a 8v92 running 5200 rpm that i ran for a few years.
Have fun with all that, and best of luck
I wouldn’t want to be around a Detroit doing 5000rpm. 🧨💣💥💥🧯🚒
imagine that
good lack,, good technology,,
