A third grade boy attended that hokey Christmas parade last November. Maybe he wanted to catch a glimpse of Santa or just collect some of the candy being thrown to the onlookers. He began that day with the hope and optimism of any normal, eight-year-old boy heading towards Christmas. He ended up in the morgue -- his skull separated from his spinal cord. With every single one of Brooks' indefensible outbursts (morally and legally), I think of that little boy's constitutional right to "life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness", all of which were robbed from him in the blink of an eye by Darryl Brooks. The poser in the ill-fitting, donated suit will, in the very near future, be released from the constraints of the name "Darryl Brooks". He's going to be a number -- nothing more than another numbered lifer in the penitentiary. Keep your fingers crossed -- this guy is going for a mistrial, and while the judge is hyper-focused on an already pristine record, he's amping up the chaos and hatred in that courtroom to a near fever pitch. He wants someone to explode in order to secure his mistrial. Accusing a trial judge of judicial misconduct was enough to keep him out of the courtroom for the day -- not a 40 minute break in the trial, the conclusion of which featured a non-responsive, still defiant Brooks. Let's hope the judge rethinks her failing approach to escalating antics of Darryl Brooks.
