My experience : Continue running amazon, stay local, and don’t venture too far with an MC that is under 90 days. It is very risky to do consistent OTR with an MC that’s under 90 days. Once your MC is over 90 days then I recommend you go OTR in the Midwest, but just be careful during the winter time. Check out the video “Box Truck Sauce! The Golden Triangle!”. That video and their channel is very helpful.
Oh, and make sure you know the laws. That means pulling into weigh stations, having your IFTA sticker/permit, ELD hours, no sleeping in your truck (it’s illegal and will get you cited), and research more about the laws of having a DOT and MC.

I feel you I wanna stay local too if I can run like 2 loads a day I'm good plus I'm like 5mins from the Amazon warehouse soo the money right in my hands I'm not trying to run that hard I want to work 5days a week be off on weekends work amonth then take a week off I'm so ready for this journey
Can you sleep in the truck in a rest area?
@@CWTGD you can, but it is illegal. Don’t listen to all those videos saying that you can-they’re full of crap. You must have a legal sleeper in your truck in order to be able to legally sleep in it. Insurance will also not cover you If you’re ever in an accident and can’t prove to them that you have done a proper and legal 10 hour reset.

Just subscribed. This guy is the honest i have seen on RUclips. Cant thank enough for this video since i am actually waiting on my amazon to be approved. People be saying its not worth it, but i have a friend here in nj that is averaging $4k and more per week with a rental. So i know this is worth it. Thanks so much bro! Keep getting that bag! 💯💯💯 the people who say it isn't worth usually aren't willing to go where the money is. One of my next videos actually speaks about that! Don't get me wrong it's a grind, but if you're willing to work, the money is there!

@@davidv6408 only down side of amazon i would say is the cancellations. But if you are patient, like look for loads going to MA and do one over there and get one the next day coming back and it would be the same as doing otr or regional i must say. Rentals, i would wait on Budget just keep in mind they will activate your account within7-10 b-days and from there on you have to find a truck it can take a while. The prices on Penske-Ryder and Enterprise wont make sense for you. Good luck.! 🙏🏼

Great video , are you doing local driving when it come to getting the loads … I’m interested in getting a box truck but can really only do local loads . Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance .
All my loads so far have been local post office runs from Amazon. If there isn't an Amazon near you, go on indeed and type in "box truck owner Operator" in the search bar for your area and im certain you will see listings for companies needing Box trucks!

@@martinhenderson5503 great question! So to sign up for amazon you simply go to their site! relay.amazon.com They have a few requirements you have to meet before you can get approved. Appling is the city where the closest amazon warehouse is located (to me)
How you get load
Oh wow! I just bought the garmin ELD as well as the garmin7000, do you have the both or just the ELD?
The garmin7000 works just fine, its the ELD that gave me issues. From the research I did on it(after I bought it) apparently Amazon had had these ELDs sitting on the shelves for years, and some of the ones they ship out are no longer in compliance or haven't been tested for defects. You may have success with your but in my experience it gave me nothing but problems.
I've been using garmin GPS systems my whole life pretty much, I still trust the brand just not for my ELD.

Wow! That’s awesome, me and my husband are planning on starting our own Box truck business.. can you give us any tips on trucks. We were thinking about renting out a truck to start. Should we buy a truck?
My suggestion is to go with the option thats best for your situation. Trucks prices are currently inflated, but if you come into this business with a plan you can make it back in a reasonable time frame. Renting is a great option as well because you wouldn't be responsible for any maintenance cost associated with the truck!

I've seen 24 ft trucks at amazon all the time. You can definitely use it, you'll just have to be prepared to consolidate pallets when necessary
Good afternoon, Do you know if an IRS Form 2290 will be required for the box trucks. Also, are Fuel Tax License Agreements required? Thanks for the great videos!
My understanding is that you wouldn't need to worry about the 2290 form if your vehicle is under 55,000lbs. IFTA is not required. Thank you for watching!!

Hey brother I'm looking to get into the box trucking industry. How much total u think you will need to start leasing a truck including app fees and insurance and what not?
I can't necessarily give you a direct answer on that because there are too many variables that could increase/decrease your cost, ive seen people start their box truck business with as little as $5000 leasing all the way up to 20k leasing(sometimes higher)
Call and get as many quotes as you can, write up a business plan and be ready to execute once you get that truck!

Is Appling the new Amazon facility that is by Augusta? Im not sure if its new or what not, but I saw a billboard advertisement for it.
Yes, there are actually two facilities here in augusta, and they are literally across the street from each other.

@@jrr7031 I will double check but I'm almost certain amazon doesn't require you to have a lift gate. I have one but I never have to use it because amazon has automatic ramps that "attach" to your truck once you're backed up to the dock door
@@ridingwiththerutledges true....but ive seen...u know them ramps be broken or u know the overhang lower roof wont let u get close enough to reach the dock ramp. Its the only thing stopping me from signing up.

I'm confused, do you have to find loads daily via amazon or are there contracts?
Amazon has both a load board and contracts. I can't speak on contracts Because I've never had one with them, but the load board officially updates every Friday. You can either book your loads ahead of time or just book them daily, its up to you!

Although I've never had a bad experience with the gps, I can say they have dropped the ball in recent years with their standards!

What's up bro. I'm just getting started with the box truck hustle. I noticed your eld problems and was just wondering, how did you continue to haul for Amazon? Did you use paper log or did you just work with the eld that was giving you issues
I used the ELD and just corrected the errors on the log at the end of work day. Eventually it stopped working altogether so I kept a paper log for about 3 days until my new ELD came in.
Thanks..... I have KEEP TRUCKIN also. The wrong cable was sent, so I'm ordering the correct cable. Believe Im going to have to use the paper log so I can get $$$. Thx

Is there any way at all to tell which loads may be cancelled in advance??? Is there a pattern that anyone has noticed so far??? Depending on the cost per mile, one of those cancelled orders could take a few completed orders just to break even overall. $175 t.o.n.u. payout is disrespectful.
Man you can say that again! Thing is from what I've seen there isn't a pattern. It just depends on what is going on inside of the facility. I never have a clue what I'm picking up, occasionally when I've cleared out my lane, they add extra pallets to my load if its going to the same place, which means they took from another load to add to mine. I know that's a mouthful but thats pretty much how some cancelations are caused.
Amazon also only pays that 175 if its within a 2 hour window of the job.
What is ROC with Amazon
Basically your point of contact if you have any questions or concerns while running a load!

I switched to the keep trucking ELD, its been working perfectly!
The garmin eld would add hours without my knowledge, connection issues, it say I was on duty while I was off duty, etc. Their troubleshooting/tech support was useless!
It was a major headache, my advice switch to keep trucking!

Wasn't you suppose to put that sticker outside of your truck like near the door. How is the DOT suppose to know you have and ELD if they don't see the sticker. They are more than likely gonna probably pull you in to check and make sure you have an ELD and that can waste time⌚
So there are no regulations on where to put the sticker for your ELD. If the DOT wants to pull you over they'll do it anyway regardless of the sticker. You are right though, it wouldn't hurt to have it on the outside if it can possibly prevent an inspection
How do you find a dispatcher?
Join box truck groups and look for dispatchers with references! Get on the phone with them, tell them your goals and if its a match go for it!

Definitely! 99% of the folks I come in contact with at the post office are awesome, but that 1% act like we're their enemy 🤣🤣

The eld isn't necessarily for amazon, its for the DOT. If you get inspected (while on an amazon run) you could be fined if you do not have an eld.
