I have a question, and I think it's quite an important one since the argument isn't really touched well in any of the videos.
For work reasons I find myself in need of quite a few headphone mixes, and when the engineer has to take care of 15 different headphone mixes it can be quite challenging. Some time ago I bought a separate monitoring system so that every musician can have his own mix. I'm now using quite an old audio interface and I'm routing 16 outputs to my monitoring system and those are the different channels that every musician can mix in his headphones.
Now my question is: how can I use the Low Latency mixer of the Universal Control to send 16 outputs from my inputs?
Basically I'm asking how I can record 24 inputs and route them out to the adat out 1-16 for my monitoring system. Am I restricted to only those mixes on the side panel (mix 1/2, 3/4 etc)? Can they be routed to any output or only to my main and ADAT 1-8?
I know for a fact that this used to be possible with the old Universal Control, is that possible today?
Also, someone on the Presonus Forum has posted the same question in February 2016 about his setup with the Behringer monitoring system, it would be nice if this matter could be solved.

Just recently bought the Studio 192 (fantastic interface).
I have a a few question regarding monitor mixes and the DAW returns in UC surface (at 3:54 i the video) when using UC Surface with another DAW (eg. ProTools). In Studio One all works neatly as well as if I use ProTools and route directly to headphone outputs using sends (having bypassed the UC Surface Mixer)
Now, how do I use the different eight DAW returns (or four stereo pairs) in UC Surface with Pro Tools (or some other DAW)?
    1) I notice that my main mix returns on DAW 1 (I have channels stereo linked) and I can set up the volume etc for different monitor mixes.
    2) But if I'd like to create a headphone mix where , for example, the bas player has a separate click track volume return on next DAW fader and a separate return of the bas drum och another DAW return fader. How can I "path the mixer" so I can get different returns from the DAW to appear on different DAW channels i UC surface?
Keep up the good work /Pat

I use SONOR. How do I get to those monitor routing options in the initial screen?

I was wondering, I noticed on the videos ive been watching videos on this the fat channell works on all the inputs and if more inputs are added via the dp 88 the fat channell can be applied on those aswell in studio one! but if Im using another daw will fat channell work on the extra dp88 preamp channel's ?

How do I route and integrate the UC surface with Pro Tools

Can I clarify something? Am I right in saying that if I integrate this with Studio One Pro (which I already have after upgrading from Artist version supplied with a 1818VSL), I do not really need to touch the UC interface software once it is all set up? I have seen other videos showing the link for example on the channel strip. So if I understand it correctly, when I use the channel strip plugins within Studio One when recording, this is using them from the DSP in the 192? If I commit the channel strip to 'tape' using POST on a track then the plugin is done and dusted so to speak, but if I do not commit, then the software plugin version is used which matches the hardware DSP version due to the link button? I'm just trying to understand to what extent the UC console would be needed generally when recording in to Studio One, as input levels etc would all be done on the device itself. The only time I really need to touch the console for the 1818VSL is when using the channel strip effects or the PRE effects reverb and delay.

Curious, when in speaker switching mode, does the volume knob on the front control all the speakers even when you switch.

im trying to mix out to an analog console with outboard gear. i have been using the UC surface to route my outputs to sub 1 through sub 4.. only problem i have with uc surface is i only have 4 stereo outs or 8 mono outs. i have a presonus digimax fs with 8 i/o. Studio One recognizes the outputs but uc surface wont allow me to route outputs to the digimax! even though i was able to route the outputs in studio one!
do i just need to bypass UC surface to get outputs to work? or what can i do to get audio out of the digimax!

I'm curious to know 2 things:1- Presonus Studio One 3 has a notoriety for CPU spikes...will this '192' unit alleviate this problem? I shouldn't be having this problem, but I am while I run Win.7 professional, 32G RAM, i7 3770k CPU on a MOTU 828mk3 hybrid soundcard.2.How and where would you connect a MIDI controller to trigger virtual instruments? Thanks.

This is a disappointing video right off the bat. The interface that she is using looks nothing like my interface. The "gear" in her setup is not in the same place as in my setup. I don't know how she got to where she did. The Universal Control in her dock is not in my dock. How did it get there? No idea. This is not helpful. Going to look for another video and hope it is more helpful.

      +reginaldperiwinkle Hey Reginald.
Sorry to let you down. I'm not sure if you're referring to the hardware recording interface or the user interface depicted on the screen. If you're referring to what's on the screen, that is the I/O setup in Studio One, which can be found in the Options or Preferences menu.
You can get UC Surface at the following link: www.presonus.com/products/Studio-192/downloads
