I have ordered this for my iPad 9th gen. Apple store calls it a 5th gen. Interesting that it has 5 backlight levels. There may be some other improvements since your review.

I actually like how the keyboard comes off the case so I could still use the kickstand for the iPad when watching videos or movies. The one for the iPad Pro 11 having the keyboard permenently attachted makes sense since the 3 Pins are on the back of the iPad I guess, still looks a bit chunky regardless.

So would it be safe to say that your favorite or best recommendation is the Logitech Combo Touch with the Trackpad? I would like the keyboard and to have the iPad fully covered. I returned the Apple's Smart keyboard because the back isn't covered.

No. You’d need to get the folio touch keyboard for that.

Yes it’s the exact same except no pencil holder, now it’s magnetic. Much nicer in my opinion.

I’ve found my battery life to be just fine! I’m sure it slightly drains, but not noticeably.

there is the folio touch (linked in description) which would work with the Pro. Not sure about hyperdrive. depends on which one.

Seems to be very nice although it almost cost half the price of the iPad itself.
So, since a mouse can be added with Bluetooth if needed. How good is the touchpad ?
I hate the touchpads reacting to my thumbs when typing, this is VERY annoying. So if it happens, I'd prefer going with folio and a mouse rather than this very expensive (yet very well made) option.

No idea, I would reach out to Logitech to exchange. Mine works just fine. Sometimes need to detach and reattach. Try updating iPad as well?

I bought this combo touch recently, and from the very first day have had issues. The cursor would disappear, the trackpad would become un responsive. Went through apple forum, seems like I’m not the only one with this issue. Either it is a software issue or a hardware.
I got the Logitech combo touch right after I watch this video, and I really like. However, I update the software and the trackpad just not working anymore. I don’t see the cursor on the screen. Do you have any idea for me to fixed it.?
It’s the best! Have you checked the iPad settings? If settings are fine, it’s possible that Apple messed it up in the iPad OS and will prob fix soon. That’s really annoying.

No Bluetooth connection. It’s very similar to the new one! Highly recommend.

You and me BOTH! I dont NEED the new iPad Air, but it's lovely. If you want that OLED with deep blacks which will look great for movies/tv or use professional apps, could be worth it! Both keyboards seem great, although the Folio's keyboard doesn't detach.

Hi what is the difference between combo touch and folio touch, website says they both work for iPad air and iPad pro
Combo touch is made for iPad 7th and 8th gen, and iPad Air 3rd gen. Folio touch works with iPad Air 4th gen and iPad Pro. There are minor differences. The keyboard doesn’t detach from the folio touch.

No issues at all. Besides I sometimes need to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard when I first start using in order for it to work.

So, doing research for my new iPad Air 4 purchase soon and I'm not quite sure which keyboard I should get. I definitely don't think the Magic Keyboard is in my budget range so that is out of the question.
I definitely prefer portability and versatility (especially if I'm taking the iPad everywhere with me while leaving my MBP at home). I also do forsee moderate drawing, surfing, emails/calendar management, and streaming. *Edit*: I noticed that you could flip the iPad around on the Smart Folio with the keyboard acting as a shield pointing to the ceiling. Is there a comfortable drawing position with the Combo Touch?
Is the Combo Touch Keyboard a good option if I'm looking for a moderate laptop replacement for drawing and portability? Or, would the Smart Keyboard Folio be more practical and easy to carry? Thoughts? :) Appreciate it and sorry for all the questions!
The Combo Touch is a wayyyy better option than the Keyboard folio for drawing. For your new iPad Air 4, you'll actually get the Folio Touch by Logitecn (linked in video description). It's basically the same, but has the flip around keyboard instead of detachable.

Not really. I’ve never noticed much of a decline in battery life and the iPad already has awesome battery life.

The keyboard will work with both devices, but there are different versions for each. The one I reviewed works with iPad 7th and 8th gen. There is a link to the iPad Air 3rd gen version in video description. Both are labeled.
