Great job. . I debated on both cases for a while and picked the Logitech one for the following reasons: -Case protection -You can put your iPad in different angles -Trackpad is larger -Case doesn’t smudge like the magic keyboard Nicely done, thanks!

Sometimes I think Apple already has a perfect design for their products but they withheld some features on purpose, so they can release those features one by one and call it innovation. They produce laptop and not including functional keys in the magic keyboard is quite ridiculous. If other company can do it on their keyboard so can Apple. They simply just don’t want to.
I was thinking of the combo, after watching this video I bought it! I wasn’t disappointed it’s perfect and the keyboard size and response of the keys are so much better than the magic in my opinion! Thank you for this great review.
Much better than the magic keyboard tbh: - Function Keys - More durable material - Slightly bigger trackpad - More versatile with the kickstand and detachable while still having the kickstand I'd probably buy it even if it was the same price or more expensive than the magic keyboard
@@TechNowOrLater I mean, it's not that bad, just like the surface pros. At least from my experience it was still good, but not as good as lap typing with the magic keyboard

Edit: lmao I just found out that the keyboard on the new iPad designs is detachable lmao.
As an info for you towards the magic keyboards weight: the weight is intentional from apple. the majority of the weight doesn't come from magnets or "premium material", but instead from 2 large Steel-plates left and right from the trackpad. (the magnets are pretty light actually.) Those steelplates are really just regular steel. they are purely for weight. This is to counterbalance the iPads weight when floating, so it doesn't fall over. (and to open it easier...'ish)
That may explain why the magic keyboard feels more sturdy to type on than the Logitech keyboard. Imagine if Logitech added a similar reinforcement for their keyboard at the same price 🤯
I had a logitech combo touch for my 8th gen iPad, but always wished I could use the magic keyboard. Honestly, after watching this I realized the only complaint I had with the Logitech is that it takes up a bit of room if I want more of an angle. That's literally it. I think I'm gonna save $130 and get the Logitech for my M1 iPad bc I honestly don't think I could do without the function keys, I don't like that it's unprotected if you want to use it as a tablet, and I don't think the magic keyboard allows the iPad to tilt back as much as I want. With Logitech, it's easy to separate from the keyboard when I don't need it and it offers more protection. Yes, the keyboard may fall off if you drop it from too high up, but it's still protected from the rest of the case. I feel like the magic keyboard just doesn't offer the protection or enough features for the price. Now, if the magic keyboard could tilt more, still have protection when separated from the keyboard, and have function keys, then I'd be willing to spend the extra $100+.

Just received my magic keyboard for my iPad Air 4 today and from my own experience, everything looks and feels great except 2 things: 1) Trackpad is very small, I am a 6.3 tall with very long fingers. Also some apps don’t even support escape via shortcut options + period, the RUclips is an example, it doesn’t work on the app for ipad but it is supported on safari or through web browser. Like I was watching this video on my ipad and the volume was set to low so in order to increase it I had to open control center and adjust it, not a big deal but still affects the overall experience, also have to reach out and press lock button every time I want to turn off my ipad rather than have a function key to do it. I don’t mind automatic backlight for keys it works awesome so far. Other than that, very satisfied with my purchase. Got it for $160 brand new through bidding on eBay, basically half of the original price.
The fact you can detach the iPad and get some protection and it's not too thick, or turn it around and use it in tablet mode with the keyboard attached at $100 less are the game changers for me. The only thing that would make it better is if they would have kept it at the 129-159 range or at least under $200
I decided against the Apple Magic Keyboard and bought this Logitech. Mainly because the Apple case assumes that you walk around with the iPad naked. I NEED SOME PROTECTION. Can’t be any happier. I love the slim case when it’s not attached to the keyboard.

True except for price for me - I got an iPad Air 4 for significantly cheaper than a MacBook Air, and I appreciate using the iPad Air as a device for travel or on the couch. I want a keyboard and some protection, I can get the Air 4 + Logitech for £730. A MacBook Air alone is £1000, then I will pay for some form of sleeve/case/cover to avoid scratches while travelling with it. So for me, there is a gap that the iPad Air + Logitech Combo Touch fills very well. I agree that if you're buying iPad Pro then the total price is too close to MacBook Air.
I just ordered the combo touch and i am glad that ive read so many positive comment on it. I like the function keys. I like how i can just detach the keyboard and make it a full on tablet, and no need put on another cover. All in one.
Right now, I’m using the k380 & thinking about getting one of these two cases. But I can’t decide! I like how the magic keyboard can stand on its own, but I hate how it doesn’t cover the sides of the iPad. I like the Logitech bc it’s a case for the iPad & the keyboard can be easily disconnected. But I absolutely hate the kickstand.
Ok so great video by the way!! My question is the following… will the logitech case cause any issues on the ipad with the paperlike screen protector on it by having the raised border of the logitech case cause disturbance to the edges and then start raising off the protector.
Thank you for this detailed review! But i would like to know if the trackpad is as smooth as from the magic keyboard? For example when you are switching between apps

I’m curious to know if the Logitech’s keyboard would still work when detached from the rest of the case? That would be nice because I could keep the iPad’s screen at a more comfortable angle and same with the keyboard.
I’ve got the combo touch and overall it’s great, the two things that give me pause however are the kickstand and back fabric; the kickstand doesn’t feel like a hinged piece of metal but instead one that is being bent back and forth, my concern is that it will eventually loosen and snap, it also doesn’t have a clear stop point when opening it out so can be opened too far putting excess strain on the hinge/metal. The back fabric on mine has already started to crease and come away from the metal at the ‘hinge’ point and you can hear the adhesive separate as you open and close the kickstand. Have you experienced either of these with yours? Wondering if I have a defective unit.
@@photosblossomsau1624 Yeah it was the new model for the 12.9" 5th gen. Apple (in the UK at least) seemed to have an exclusivity period. I ordered mine on the 5th May, was meant to arrive on the 1st June, but ended up arriving on the 21st along with my iPad.
I have been using a Logitech case/keyboard for my Gen 2 ipad for 3 years+. I bend the kickstand all over the place and no wear and tear at all and is still strong. I ordered both of these keyboards while waiting for my 2021 12.9 to get delivered. I want to try both Keyboards myself and return the \one I like least. Based on my past positive experience with Logitech, apple better have a GREAT keyboard if I’m gonna keep it over the Combo Touch.
I wish there was a better way to secure the pencil in either case. I can totally see the pencil detaching in my backpack or when I handle the combo out in the field. Is there a better way to secure the pencil?
I finally received my Logitech combo touch keyboard today and as a person coming from the magic keyboard I would like to discuss a few things I have noticed after several hours of use. The first thing I noticed is this keyboard case makes the iPad feel more like a surface product with the way the cover feels, the kickstand, and the general look. The second thing I noticed in the worst way possible is that this case is NOT designed to be picked up and moved around with one hand unless you want the keyboard portion to dangle. The third thing I noticed is that the thunderbolt port is fairly narrow which can cause fitting issues for certain thunderbolt cables. To wrap things up IN MY OPINION the keyboard case is very well made and does a very good job, but if you actually use your iPad more like an ultra book where you move it around a lot, transfer files to and from it a lot, and use the track pad a lot you’ll quickly find out that they’re not quite equal.
With any tablet keyboard I purchase being able to still use my tablet like a tablet is a requirement. That being said only one of these comes with tablet protection all around so that removes the apple keyboard from my options.
Great comparison video you got there! Enjoy every bit of the details and the pro & con that were mentioned! I like it so much and learnt a great deal in knowing the features of each product from this video. Thank you for a great job!
If you don't type, attach the keyboard on the other side (flip it). But other than that, you gotta get use to it or just get the Magic Keyboard if it's too much to handle
@@qmng The whole purpose of these two products is to type on them like they are a laptop. Otherwise there are other much cheaper IPP cases out there to to choose from for lounging with the IPP on your lap/legs
I just got this and I’m honestly quite happy with it. I do get why people say they wish it had a charging port but I find myself not needing that or missing it. I use this a lot prepped up on my pillow cause I’m bedridden and it’s the right distance for me with it sitting on my knees with my prop pillows :) The kickstand is pretty rigid on mine and it’s a bit difficult to get the kickstand to pop out but really that’s my only complaint and the price but better price than the magic keyboard. I’m happy with it :) the keys remind me of my mechanical keyboard with speed switches so really nice experience for me.
Does the keyboard still work when you flip it to the back? I heard the back base touching your keyboard when you showed that part and I wonder if there is a way to switch it off and prevent accidental typing. 🤔
I already bought a logictech combo touch for my ipad air. I also updated the frmware but some of the keys are not working like the letter u,j,m,i,k,o,l when I type anybody have a solution for this. Read several articles in the net and was not able to find one that could fix my issue. Thanks
I'd like a folio Logitech case/keyboard that detaches but doesn't have the trackpad. I use my iPad a lot, but I still need a laptop for certain workflows so the trackpad isn't that important to me.
I like them both so much even though i lean towards the magic keyboard just because its a very pleasing using experience. I was so against the magic keyboard just because it didnt have function keys and a tablet mode but once I did some research on how to use a “tablet mode” and used in one in myself, I immediately understood the hype. I ended u buying the Logitech too and will just switch between them from time to time lol
Can you use the logitech combo touch for Ipad Air 4? The combo touch is an upgrade from the logitech folio touch but it doesn’t mention ipad air 4 at all…
Is it just me or I feel like the tilt angle on magic keyboard is very narrow, I see many saying this in Amazon reviews but not many reviewers mentioned about it. It made me realize that iPad keyboard cover will never be perfect, I may ended up getting MacBook Air instead and it's still will be cheaper too lol ...
In my opinion the only big point for Logi is that you are able to clip off the keyboard. Watching Netflix/RUclips in the train or during a flight where you only got limited table space definitely benefits from cutting off the keyboard. Besides that, imo Logi is more voluminous, looks and feels cheaper, hasn't the connectivity features to HUBs, connectors, drives set up well as apple MK provides.
It’s a hard decision. The magic keyboard is freakin’ expensive. But as a screenwriter I need a high quality keyboard. It’s all about the feeling while typing for me. For the price of iPad Pro + pencil + magic keyboard I could easily buy a MacBook Pro instead… But I just love using an iPad for daily purposes. I guess the quality/feel of the combo touch isn’t good enough for somebody writing everyday for hours…
Once I was at school with my magic keyboard and I was in a digital technologies class and I was holding my iPad and getting something and my iPad dropped from the case because there was no protection on the sides to stop it from coming off so my iPad got a crack on it… Conclusion: I don’t recommend the magic keyboard and definitely the combo. Now I just have to convince my mum to get me the combo case😂
Loved the video explanation. On the other hand, is not even available in my country. I've been watching video reviews about this particular keyboard and is the one I need. for two reasons: Versatility and price. Also because it looks like it will last more than the Magic Keyboard . I messaged Logitech and they told me it's not available and that they don't have any date of release yet. I am very disappointed because I just ordered the new 11" M1 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and I won't be able to fully use it the way I want for a while. 😩 Do you know any other similar and reliable options out there? I've been looking on Amazon but no luck so far. 😑
Yeah but you didn’t mention apple care. Get apple care for iPad and it covers the keyboard too. If I break my magic keyboard I can get a new one the same day by walking into Apple. What happens if I break the Logitech one?
Did you guys know that the keyboard also works with the older iPads which have the smart connector on the side? Yes they do, since these are using the same three pogo pins!!
I’m on the verge of keeping both. Each has a valid use case for different uses..for example traveling versus at home use ..etc.. The Logitech keyboard is easier on the wrist and smooth experience. Mk feels like small space…..thinking if getting a skin for the iPad If I go with the mk
I prefer the apple keyboard overall; I prefer the form factor and feel of the keys when typing, and the additional type c port (which lets you charge from the correct side) is great. However, I do also have the logitech, which I take to classes so I can detach the keyboard and hand-write notes when I need to. Having a full-on case on the tablet is also great for field work where sometimes I need to straight up put it on the ground.
Can i ask your opinion to which one i should buy i dont have a large budget so i wont be actually able to buy the magic keyboard and not be broke So your opinion would help
@@reshmaghadge3344 definitely the logitech combo touch. Has more durability, we can use it without the keyboard, adds protection, better keyboard layout. Definitely Logitech!
This is the best comparison I've seen between the two options. I own the 2020 MK, but if I get back to traveling a lot I may add the Combo for its protection and versatility. Though I question if the foot print of the Combo's keyboard mode would even fit on an airplane tray? I also like the finish on the Combo. Finally I wonder why the Combo case's USB-Cable opening isn't bigger. Also note, other reviewers have notes that one microphone might be covered?
I really like the fact that you can go full keyboard mode to flipping the keyboard around and going full tablet mode. The biggest thing I don't like is the footprint that is required for the Logitech vs the Magic Keyboard. I also find the Logitech price point to be a little high. Feels like its more of a $150 product and Logitech is only pushing the price up cause they can.
Even though magic keyboard is not worth this amount of money, I bought it because iPad is my main device, basically a computer and I use it in many different places, I just need it to feel stable on my lap. This is why i paid extra, for comfort. The only missing thing is esc key, i keep looking for it all the time.
You can go into settings and make one of the other keys (cmd, optional, control, etc.) an escape key. I made the option key the escape key on mine. Just go to general, keyboard, hardware keys, modifier.
I have both of these keyboards right now. Even though the Logitech has a larger trackpad, I find that it works against me a lot of the time. I find myself accidentally moving the cursor around when typing which doesn’t happen at all with the magic keyboard. I do really like the function row on the Logitech but it isn’t as lap friendly as the magic keyboard. BTW the hyperdrive DOES work with the Logitech you just have to use the dongle extension that came hyperdrive

I’m curious to know if the Logitech’s keyboard would still work when detached from the rest of the case? That would be nice because I could keep the iPad’s screen at a more comfortable angle and same with the keyboard.
No , sadly it must be connected in order to be used I believe :”(
@@DerFriskyFahmy sad.. that would be unbeatable
How long have you used it? This is huge concern since it's more expensive now than previous Folio Touch ...
@@obidean3964 Since the 21st May
@@mikeward1701 this was released on June 8th. Are you sure you have the new model?
@@photosblossomsau1624 Yeah it was the new model for the 12.9" 5th gen. Apple (in the UK at least) seemed to have an exclusivity period. I ordered mine on the 5th May, was meant to arrive on the 1st June, but ended up arriving on the 21st along with my iPad.
Would you consider reviewing the Zagg Pro Keys Keyboard (w/Trackpad) for the 11in iPad Pro/Air 4? 🥺
Also where do you get that cyan-pink wallpaper
I have been using a Logitech case/keyboard for my Gen 2 ipad for 3 years+. I bend the kickstand all over the place and no wear and tear at all and is still strong. I ordered both of these keyboards while waiting for my 2021 12.9 to get delivered. I want to try both Keyboards myself and return the \one I like least. Based on my past positive experience with Logitech, apple better have a GREAT keyboard if I’m gonna keep it over the Combo Touch.
Logitech
Love the Logitech combo. Wouldn’t change a thing
thanks for the update!
Does it work on roblox and minecraft?
Great video.Thorough and full in detail comparison. Personally I have the Apple Magic Keyboard. Keep it up!
How robust is the kickstand for just general note taking and using the Apple Pencil for long periods of time?
Very detailed review, but I am as undecided as before. But the protection an flexibility let me swing towards logi
Is the combo touch compatible with the iPad Air 4?
Great comparison video you got there! Enjoy every bit of the details and the pro & con that were mentioned! I like it so much and learnt a great deal in knowing the features of each product from this video. Thank you for a great job!
What solutions have people come up with for the logitech on your lap?
You return the Logitech and get the MK. The kickstand is a deal breaker for those wanting to lounge on the couch/recliner with the IPP
@@JTB-- yeah true
or just use the bare iPad no case if you ran out of cash and not bothered to buy one :)
Really good review, thanks mate!
Great review! I had every question I had answered in this vid.
This works with 4th gen ipad pro 12.9, but blocks a couple speaker grills. Doesn't really affect sound at all still.
Thanks
Naturally, thanks for the review.. im currently using combo touch too… i like its versatility. :D love to see the comparison for future use
If I need to score this review 0 to 10 I would give it 15. Amazing job and thank you. Have a nice day :)
I'd like a folio Logitech case/keyboard that detaches but doesn't have the trackpad. I use my iPad a lot, but I still need a laptop for certain workflows so the trackpad isn't that important to me.
Thank you, can you please comment on the weight of the Logitech with the keyboard detached?
I like them both so much even though i lean towards the magic keyboard just because its a very pleasing using experience. I was so against the magic keyboard just because it didnt have function keys and a tablet mode but once I did some research on how to use a “tablet mode” and used in one in myself, I immediately understood the hype. I ended u buying the Logitech too and will just switch between them from time to time lol
Gosh! You must be rich.
Can you use the logitech combo touch for Ipad Air 4? The combo touch is an upgrade from the logitech folio touch but it doesn’t mention ipad air 4 at all…
Hey do you think that a tempered glass screen protector and the combo touch would close properly?
Using my M1 ipp 11 inch with both and its working fine
Is it just me or I feel like the tilt angle on magic keyboard is very narrow, I see many saying this in Amazon reviews but not many reviewers mentioned about it. It made me realize that iPad keyboard cover will never be perfect, I may ended up getting MacBook Air instead and it's still will be cheaper too lol ...
any update on the speaker compatibility? did logitech redesign the casing for speakers?
With the Logitech and extended usb c hub, can you charge the iPad Pro through the usb c hub?
Id pay the price for the magic keyboard again in a heart beat. The experience is so much smoother, and the extra usbc port is super useful
How do you utilize the extra port?
Attaching a hub with extra USB ports can solve that issue with the Logitech keyboard.
@@iDB I usually connect the power to the keyboard and then a usb c to lightning to charge my phone if needed. This is really the only time I use it.
Does it work with 2020 pro?
It’s a hard decision. The magic keyboard is freakin’ expensive. But as a screenwriter I need a high quality keyboard. It’s all about the feeling while typing for me. For the price of iPad Pro + pencil + magic keyboard I could easily buy a MacBook Pro instead… But I just love using an iPad for daily purposes. I guess the quality/feel of the combo touch isn’t good enough for somebody writing everyday for hours…
Once I was at school with my magic keyboard and I was in a digital technologies class and I was holding my iPad and getting something and my iPad dropped from the case because there was no protection on the sides to stop it from coming off so my iPad got a crack on it…
Conclusion: I don’t recommend the magic keyboard and definitely the combo. Now I just have to convince my mum to get me the combo case😂
Great video thank you ♥️ I bought the combo touch and I’m excited 😆
Nice review but doesn’t the logitech cut the speakers out and distorts it
I suppose you can drill some small holes over the covered speakers & the microphone..
Hey Harris, is everything okay? You sound sad. 🙁
He just sounded calm
Cheer up.....I subscribed! ;)
Do you know any other similar and reliable options out there? I've been looking on Amazon but no luck so far. 😑
This is amazing thank u so much
Yeah but you didn’t mention apple care. Get apple care for iPad and it covers the keyboard too. If I break my magic keyboard I can get a new one the same day by walking into Apple. What happens if I break the Logitech one?
Not sure - you can look up their warranty online for it, but that's a good point.
Magic keyboard + Applecare = 450ish USD before tax? You can buy two of the Logitech combo for less money.
Great comparison.
Nice video man, thanks!
Did you guys know that the keyboard also works with the older iPads which have the smart connector on the side? Yes they do, since these are using the same three pogo pins!!
Excellent video. Thanks 👍
Great review! Thanks. Now i finally made up my mind on which one to buy. 👌👍🏻
which one
I’m thinking about getting the Logitech
I just got it yesterday and it’s pretty great. Everything works just as it’s supposed to and it feels really nice.
@@Not.jc__ thanks for the info
Still the Magic Keyboard is the best choice over other with the vital extra powerplug at the side and the convenience of the way detachable.👍👏
Logitech keypad has backlite or not ?
I’ve dropped a tablet and the screen shattered instantly
How can i protect my Apple pencil while having nothing there?
Function keys are great. You miss not having them if you are use to them.
Is it a re upload?
Sorry this is a vs .
Magic Keyboard does wobble when touching the iPad
I’m Team Logitech better and cheaper and looks more cleaner. You get more protection.
Apple expensive no more to say.
Magic KB all the way. Superior in every way. Been using mine for years.
How did you get Tom Holland to be in your thumbnail?
The weather 😏 look at the widgets on folio combo iPad
Logitech Combo Touch is very very good i just got mine :D so happy with it
I got mine 3 days ago and I’m so happy with it as well. In my opinion way better then Apple keyboard case
I’m still waiting for mine to come and I’m so excited to use it
mine is coming today :D

Logitech it is!
Can i ask your opinion to which one i should buy i dont have a large budget so i wont be actually able to buy the magic keyboard and not be broke
So your opinion would help

Chilling here with my new iPad Pro cuz it finally arrived
@@wsiedh thank you so much! I didn’t even bother myself to check if I can do such thing :)
You are welcome.
