Roma Bakery celebrates 70 years, $4M expansion planned

An iconic and loved business in Hamilton, Roma Bakery is turning 70 this weekend.
The owners of Roma Bakery & Deli say it started out as a door-to-door bread delivery service in 1952 and they can’t believe how much it’s grown.
Roma Pizza is sold in approximately 70 stores throughout Hamilton, Halton, and Niagara.
On Sunday they’re celebrating the big day with customers and staff. “We’ll have some gathering out front and giving away some free product to our loyal customers who have been coming here for years and some people for generations,” Anthony Di Filippo said.
Roma Bakery is also planning a $4 million expansion. They will be adding onto the existing building and adding a second level for offices and lunchroom to better serve their staff.
