Wow, the kind of predator-prey relationship seen here is extremely fascinating.
Question:
Did the queen and her colony ever socialize or display any kind of bonding behavior?
Thank you!
Yes, there would be times especially with older queens that they trusted her enough to be in pretty close proximity and knew her body language enough to trust that she was just vibing
@@TalesofKaimere Was a nice idea ! It's rare se unique that a carnivore specie wil be good toward a herbivores one with a beneficial behavior.
Love that you were able to incorporate a lot of your old concepts back from when you were a kid into the lore of Kaimere. It’s cool to see some of the early sketches to. Maybe one day you can dedicate an episode to old/abandoned concepts and your childhood drawings of the setting, I love learning about the creative process for fantasy settings.
As for the Queen and her hadrosaurs, they kind of remind me of the Tyrannosaurus from Michael Swanwick’s Bones of the Earth. Tyrannosaurus in that book were “ranchers”, protecting herds of prey animals for exclusive rights to them. It’s always a fun concept to work with.
Notes/precision from Keenan socials account about this episode :
- Carcharodontosaurs as a whole persisted on Kaimere as the apex predators of Arvel until the conclusion of the Tyrant Dynasty. Ni’Khari and Kairulan carchs only lasted through the first age before being replace by Allioramines Tyrannosaurs.
On Arvel, Carcharodontosaurs lived and hunted Argentinosaurus relatives sauropods, and died alongside them at the Tyrants Dynasty Extinction.
Some of the Carcharodontosaurs (like the one at 4:30) developted a convergent evolution with the famous genus Concavenator by developping a dorsal fin. The uses of this latter are unknown, but likely for mating uses.
- The Gurkan first colorful illustration design of the DeviantArt post of Jul 16, 2021 was a placeholder. A Kritosaurus for another project. HOWEVER, since it's was use on an official post for "Tales of Kaimere" lore universe, this design and animal (thus being not the genus Kritosaurus itself) remain as an effect canon to the lore. But, for maintaining thing logics, this design is more or less handed over as an extinct relative of the Gurkan (this is why he was mistaken with him in the first place, inside in Kaimere universe perspective).
- The Gurkan and Nehamu are the only surviving members of their respective famillies, the Hadrosaurs and Tyrannosaurs, in Modern Kaimere. But the very lasts documented by Kaimeran naturalists INSIDE the Known World.
In fact, there indeed a possibilty that others related species like them (having the same generalist niche) may exist outside the Known World, since the realm beyond the borders of this region are very unknown and not fully well documented, but it's just we don't know currently for sure if their existence is an actuality.
However, since the Ceratopsid, one of the three tyrants with the two latter, are confirmed to be very present on the Eastern Continent and doing well on this landmass, the chances that Hadrosaurs and Tyranossaurs species existence outside the Known World remain enough high!
- The two Permian landmass, Permian Continent and Permian Island, Crown of Kairul, Kaishel and the Artic Continent, were all savings by the Volcanic eruptions that lead to the Tyrants Dynasty Extinction.
The Jurassic Island was a little impacted, but only his extreme south point was touched by the ashes cloud.
Also, since Kaimere is a good 60% larger than Earth, the Jurassic Island is a bit larger than Australia in term of size.
Hold on, if Kaimere is 60% bigger than Earth wouldn't it's higher gravity either kill or force earth animals to change there body plans significantly?
@@qwertyuiop1141 Technicaly yes, but Keenan have once in another comment that something natural made in sort that the gravity remain like on Earth.
I don't remember what was the awnser precisely, but is something natural and don't have something with the Portal or magic activity.
@@dudotolivier6363
Kaimere is less dense
I'm gonna include these creatures in my fantasy world too, but they're numbers will be more appreciable.
Plus, if Kaimere was made to be a movie, I'd use that theme you used here! Congrats on the release of Songs of the Inland Sea!
Also, Omegatyrannus?! That is an awesome name for a Tyrannosaur!
You discussed many of the iconic clades here. But I'd still like to know more about some of the others like the Therizinosaurs and the like.
Deskant has some really fantastic pieces I’m so glad his work is on Epidemic Sounds! Someday I will explore the therizinosaurs in greater detail. Definitely something I want to unpack more.
@@TalesofKaimere Therizinosaurs are present on Kaishel, and Pakardia with a single specie.
But outside these two landmass, their situation on the others realms of Kaimere is unknown.
Wow, the Jurassic Islands shifted quite a long ways between the start of the Tyrant Dynasty and the present day.
But what was happening on Arvel at this time?
I love all of your childhood drawns/sketches !
Even the unfinished ones are great looking (the style is here)!
And we can clearly see here and here the first appearance (or at least concept) of many famous current Kaimere creatures. And Yes, many of them look like the Tyrants of the Tyrants Dynasty of this episode.
At 16:50 and 17:07, we can see the first Rahrak concept (an Pakardian abelisaurid and creature that is not yet today presented)
Also, just me but, the Baryonyx-like spinosaurid at 17:20 remind me a Velocidrome from Monster Hunter.
This was awesome! I like how you only mentioned the Tyrant Dynasty in previous videos and finally made a dedicated video about it. I wonder if you’ll ever do a video about the Age of Witches or when the Homunculi were free to run amok.
Thank you!! Both are on the agenda!
I have been waiting for an exploration of the Tyrant Dynasty since I first saw a tyrannosaur with radical skull adornments in one of the first videos of yours I watched. This did not disappoint! So awesome!
Thanks so much! Was so excited to get the sponsorship!!
It warms my heart to know that you have lore and design dating back to your childhood. I write a fantasy series and it's a similar thing with me, back when I was a little one swinging toy swords and fighting monsters 😊
Love the use of dynamic music this episode. The part where the music is really somber and then transitions to wild when the thescelosaurs show up really works. Wish we saw more clades like ankylosaurs or other herbivores but I understand you can't do everything.
1. Speaking of other herbivores, did other non sauropod groups reach the prolific sizes of hadro/tyrannosaurs?
2. Do queens ever fight off the males with the w word I won't risk cause of youtube? Alternatively, do new and inexperienced patriarchs ever try to fight the queen?
3. What hunts Gurkan up north?
4. Which clades were the aquatic rulers during the dynasty?
Absolutely. I ended up deciding to focus on the tyrants and hadrosaurs rather than make it too much of a wide-lens overview. There's so much to cover with this topic I definitely have other clades that deserve mention. Just because these two dominated the prairies overlooks the greater diversity of the forests, mountains, and wetlands.
1. There were some record-breaking titans, but I haven't sorted much of the others.
2. Queens often fought off males unless they were ready to mate, at which point they would meet potential mates at the edge of their territory. Not looking to let them scope her food source.
3. Uktan are their main if not only predator. Not much else is big enough to mess with them.
4. Mosasaurs and plesiosaurs.
@@TalesofKaimere it's make send for the two lasts.
The Gurkan is a small Hadrosaurs specie, compared to his relatives, but still big compared to a man and to every others kinds of mammalian predators.
Females can be targeted by many predators whatevers they are, but since they are herds animals, the fact to be togethers and protected by adult males Gurkan, twice their size, must be a good defence.
The Tyrant Dynasty Extinction was provoked by volcanoes that free a huge ashes cloud who have affected the vegetation growth on the continents by blocking sunlight and making chaos in the food chain.
The Seas were mostly sparsed and left, and as an effect, the Mosasaurs and Elasmosaurs remain overall untouched by this event whithout great casualities.
This was a very cool topic. The dinosaurs from the Tyrant Dynasty seem incredibly badass, plus I love learning more about kaimeran tyrants, they are one of my favourite dinosaur groups after all. The diferent group succesions are a very cool idea too. I assume charcarodontosaurids and other fauna from the south hemisphere (like I assume the megaraptorans and abelisaurids) came during the earlier cretaceous dynasty, albeit considering the portal have been harvesting fauna more recently from multiple parts of the world it surprises me most of the relevant fauna of the tyrant dynasty came from Asia almost exclusively. The dinamic between tyrants and hadrosaurs was surprising, I love the idea of the queen guarding their own herd of hadrosaurs.
I also agree with you, it's more fun to play with small generalist fauna when creating worlds than just making already big and mean beasts bigger and meaner. My own world have also changed a lot from the conception as a terraformed Mars filled with prehistoric fauna to abandoned flatworld with a hydrogen core and bionic organisms. It's always fun to look back at scrapped concepts and creatures that have been reworked since their conception.
Awesome!! Love your tyrants and your project! Could you perhaps do an episode on the plesiosaurs since they've been on the sidelines for sometime now. Either way, great episode
I am in talks with a sponsor as we speak!
It's great that you put forward the Alioramines/Alioraminae Tyrannosaurs !
Because these Tyrannosaurs (in which Qianzhousaurus and Alioramus belong) aren't as much used in medias.
But these animals were very interesting, and way more differents than they bigger and more robust counterparts.
Being more generalist, flexible, and adaptible than the others, which you shown here in this video.
Also, I like a lot that the Nehamu is in fact a Alioramine rather than a Tyrannosaurines or Tarbosaurines that just become smaller.
What do you think would happen if the north amerixan tyrannosaurs ankylosaur horned dinosaurs and hadrosaurs were harvested instead of the asian dinosaura and there was harvest in early creatsocus china would things be thw same
I find that great and cool that the dinosaurs of all the clades mentionned in this video (Tyrannosaurid, Hadrosaurid, Ceratopsid and etc...) come from the End Cretaceous Asia livestock and not from the generic so ridiculousely famous and popular North America one (with T-rex, Triceratops, Edmontosaurs etc...). Thing that who have been not original (not to a boring or bad level, but not extraordinary either) so this latter livestock is put in front of us everytime in paleomedia.
So, it's original, refreshing and good to see instead the Asian livestock one, with Tarbosaurus for example. And even if this fauna still well-known and famous too by the public, she's not as put forward in media than his more popular North Amerca one.
And also because, if we can say one thing to note, is that in final... that don't change anything !
The Asian and North American Dinosaurs Livestocks were completely identical in term of animals clades, with all the dinosaurs famillies and groups in one of the two continent being as present on the other, with the same clades being in the same ecological niches and dominance, and with species having the same physical appearance and size without too many notable differences !
Also, it's important to mention that all the American Livestock descend of many waves from the Asian one !
With many Asian-North American Great Wildlife Exchange ! (in short, like the Great Inter-American Wildlife Exchange who occured in Ice Age Pleistocene between North and South American with Giant Ground Sloth, Smilodon, Mastodont, etc...)
There even two distinct waves of Tyrannosaurid that occured from Asia. The first will give the Albertosaurines/Albertosaurinae subfamilly with the slender and light Albertosaurus and Gorgosaurus members, and the second will brought the big, heavy and robust Tyrannosaurs such T-rex or Daspletosaurus who will outcompeted to extinction the members of the first wave.
So, yes, a clever idea and move you have here Keenan !
Some more questions:
1. How big where the largest ceratopsians in the Tyrant Dynasty?
2. You said in one of your posts that there were 25 meter pliosaurs. Were they in the Tyrant Dynasty and how long did they last?
3. What were the temporal ranges of each of these 3 epochs?
4. During the first epoch, how did the neotenic tarbosaurines and alioramines niche partition?
One of the reason that Hadrosaurs, Tyrannossaurs and some others clades declined so quickly is also the fact that they were all already highly specialized animals when the Portal take them on Earth.
As recent studies have revealed/shown strongly, at the End Creteacous (Late Cretaceous, Maastrichtian period, between about 72.1 to 66-65 Ma), all the dinosaurs clades and fauna were all specialized forms, to a point that they cannot go farer than they were. They were so specialized that they manage to convert and edit (without really wanting it and knowing iy) the entire Earth, to terraformed her to their needs (increasing for example highly the tempature level, like us, Homo sapien humans, we do currently).
That lead them to no more really change and evolved since there were no real need, and to a low diversity, with even genus and species that lived during 3-4 millions years without evolving.
And since the youngs of the big specialized species outcompeted the smaller and more generalist species' relatives of the bigger ones, thee was only bigs species of each clades. Making a good lack in diversity.
At the end of the Tyrant Dysnaty, they were all highly specialized... speciazilized animals (in short, they were twice specialized than at the start).
So, at this point, they were all twice more vulnerable than on Earth when the meteor impact the Earth.
The 3:09 and 15: 53 pictures are set/take place in the Second Age of the Tyrant Dynasty, since the Tyrannosaurid in the middle is a Robust Alioramine.
The thing interesting to note in addition, is that this picture also revealed that the Dinosauroid Troodontid were already sapient at this time. Making them the first and most oldest sapient being on kaimere since the biginning of the planet !
... As far as we know. Wouldn't be surprissed if some, earlier dynasties had their own sapient taxa...
What if the Triassic ever got a harvest and creatures like rauscians and phytosaurs were taken during the Permian dynasty
Relevant Question !
The Chasmosaurines Ceratopsid, one of the pillars of this dynasty alongside Hadrosaurs and Tyrannosaurs, were all North American animals. But, outside two exception with the Sinoceratops and Turanoceratops in Asia, there was any Ceratopsid that lived in Asia at the end of the Cretaceous.
So, from where the Ceratopsid of this Dynasty and Modern Kaimere descend from ?
(the Psittacosauridae and Protoceratopsidae, who lived in Asia, obviousely, come from this Cretaceous Asian harvest, but not the Chamosaurines of the Tyrant Dynasty).
First of all love this episodes and second I would love to see episodes Diving into Kaimere's past. but this episodes does leave me with one question: what was the marine ecology of Tyrant Dynasty?
Thanks and good question! The marine ecology of the tyrant dynasty included greater mosasaur diversity, and there were no giant sharks or cetaceans so they had a stronger monopoly on the tropics. Elasmosaurs dominated the colder waters.
Hey ! Keenan ! Just in case, here a list of potential candidates of Wild Cattles species and their extinct relatives you can integrate into Kaimere (following your world depiction).
Bovinae (Wild Cattle/Cows) :
- African forest buffalo/Dwarf buffalo (Syncerus caffer nanus),
- Kouprey (Bos sauveli), Saola (Pseudoryx nghetinhensis),
- Nilgai antelope (Boselaphus tragocamelus),
- Four-horned antelope (Tetracerus quadricornis),
- Tragoportax (extinct),
- Dubois’antilope (Duboisia santeng, extinct),
- Ugandax (extinct),
- Leptobos (extinct),
- an Ice Age European Bison specie (any specific specie. Bisons are very flexible bovids who can lived either in wood or grassland biomes).
Already present : Giant Buffalo (Syncerus antiquus), Auroch (Bos primmigenius), Asiatic water buffalo.
Wild cattles are successfull animals most of the time, even in areas with bigs predators, thank to their horns.
They do very well even in dense tropical forest biomes, where they reveal being as good browers animals (who eat leaves, soft shoots, or fruits of high-growing, generally woody plants such as shrubs) than good grazers.
Hope that will give you ideas ! 😀
Because I like a lot to give you list of some animals species that you can put somewhere for later just in case.
Because like that, you have, when you will decide to speak on a specific family (in sme month or years, that doesn't matter), at least already a "base" to work on (and will give you less work at maximum, because these kind of selection and research must be very tiring).
It's alway just a small nice touch from us, your followers.
I knew that Tyrants were huge, but not that massive. I'm glad it did surpass my wildest expectations. This is one episode that I will never forget. Especially the morale of the story...
While I expected to see the infiltrators of the dynasty evolve, and it's a shame Kaimere had many, many, many extinct megafauna, but tbh, the brontotheres were probably the most interesting mammalian megafauna gone extinct.
On the topic of the Carcharadontosaurines, it's sad that they went extinct faster than I thought. But the latest Hadrosaurus were something else entirely. Tbh, I never thought that Tarbosaurines would surpass the T-Rex... But, if, and this is a huge If, Kaimere harvested the T-Rex, how would it end up?
Also, to think that the Omegatyrant were That gargantuan in size was scary. I don't wanna know how badly if they managed to leap through time somehow and end up fighting... Anything really come to think about it. These are not dinosaurs, they're Dragons killers!
My note for this amazing episode? 30/10!
Carcharadontosaurines mentioned in this episode don't last long because the Asian Tyrannosaurs were better and more flewible in term of diet.
However, this concern only about the ones present on the Ni’Khari and Kairul landmass !
Carcharadontosaurines as a whole survived on Arvel until the conclusion of the Tyrant Dynasty. Because Arvel was, at this time, isolated from the others landmass, and as an effect, Tyrannosaurs can't go there.
But the same ashes cloud of the Tyrant Dynasty Extinction affect Arvel, and the same thing that happened to the Tyrannosaurs happened to the Arvelith Carchs.
@@dudotolivier6363 I know. I thought they survived in the entire world of Kaimere, until the Dynastic extinction. But tbh, these Tyrants are terrifying to say the least.
Fascinating episode as always Keenan! The Tyrant Dynasty was epic
Thank you! Was lots of fun to dive into!
Random Question : (sorry if it's a little long)
1 - If the Insectivorous bats, Frugivorous Flying Foxes bats and Vampire/Hemathophagious Bats are well present on Kaimere, are there also the Nectarivores bats (like the Mexican long-tongued bat Choeronycteris mexicana), Piscivorous bats (like Myotis vivesi and the Noctilionidae), and Carnivorous bats (like the Woolly false vampire Bat, Chrotopterus auritus, or the Spectral bat, Vampyrum spectrum) too ?
2 - Outside the Sharkomora giant vampire bat, are there others normal Demosdus vampire bat on Kaimere ?
3 - Since Hylobatid apes have in general a marked sexual dimorphism, can we consider the old H’achake/Garden Ape design as a female version of the specie, with the current design being the one of the males ?
4 - In order to maintain the old Gigantopithecus design canon, can we consider him as a depiction of a rare form of the specie, suffering from gigantism mutation ? And who would also explain the anatomical issues you mentioned before since this mutation don’t only make larger the specimen but also touch the physiognomy of some of his traits ?
5 - In the first book, somewhere, the protagonist refers to the Harkundi terror bird as an “ostrich-like” bird. But you have confirmed that the African Ostrich (Struthio camelus) don’t make it due to the enantiornithean ratites-like birds. So, is it possible that some other Ostriches species, giants ones, like the Asiatic/Asian Ostrich (Struthio asiaticus) or species from the giant Pachystruthio genus (that can live in the Highlands of Arvel since they are cold species) ?
6 - Are Seridic Wetland like the Okanvango Delta of Africa ?
7 - Since the Gaur/Gayal/Seladang bovid (Bos gaurus) was a jungle animal, who mostly is a browser, why he didn’t make it in Kaimere ?
8 - It’s possible that, during the Mercantil Age, Dinosaurs were brought and sold on Earth due to Free States trades with Earth humans ? And if yes, their population should have not sufficient to maintain a good population, especially for escaped specimens to become feral ?
9 - This latter is interesting, because she will do the link with many believes legends and cryptids myths depicting mythological reptilians and dinosaurs-like creatures in our cultures (especially the ones in the Americas) and will be great to make the link with the presumed records/testimonies of living dinosaurs who occurred time to time even today in our modern era. Don't you think?
The next book, Anthology 2, will have 3 at least 3 stories, and maybe 11 like in Anthology 1.
- Haunted Legacy (who follow protagonnist facing the Silent Ones on a boat)
- an unnamed story who follow protagonnists of Frost and Famine facing again mutanted Xuul.
- Tempered in Ash and Blood (who follow Goliath, a moqrin-gaqrin orca hybrid and some of his cousins, when separated from their pod. Despiste being animals, the story will be in the first narration because moqrin orca are sapient).
Others stories such the one with the Man-Eater Kurujaku hunted by one of the Anthology 1 protagonnists, the documentary stylized stories on a adult Kurujaku, Sea Sloth and Kraken, will also maybe be published in this one, but some can be in an other book too.
I have been excited for this for so long! Thank you so much for making this!
Absolutely!!
Lovely!!! I love these designs!!
Thank you!!
I love seeing new animals rise to prominence, but seeing that some examples survived is also cool.
Love this episode. Didn't expect many of the species to be descendants of asian representatives rather than those from North America, let alone the dynamic between hadrosaurs and tyrannosaurs becoming so specialized to each other's lifestyles during the later part of the dynasty. It's fascinating. Nice job.
However, related to this episode, my question is that if Ornithominids were also harvested, then what happened to them? (I remember from the Hippo episode that one which resembled Dinocheirus were shown to be extinct in the known world, but that was about it. I would've assumed the smaller, ostrich-like ornithomimids would've done well either to the present (but now rare) or to at least before the arrival of ratites.)
I haven’t finalized them, but in my current plan they were largely outcompeted by elasmerians and then by ratites. At most only the rhea has reached the eastern continent so ornithomimosaurs will probably be more prevalent over there
@@TalesofKaimere You forget to mention the Enanornithean birds analogous to ratites that also exist on Kaimere, and are the main reasons why African Ostrich and Cassowary birds don't make it on Kaimere.

A lot of neat stuff here. The tyrant and hadrosaur designs are spectacularly done. This video adds a lot of context to how Kaimere was back then I’m terms of its fauna that I felt was genuinely needed.
I actually have a question as well that’s not exactly relevant but is still worth asking: what happened to “The Lost Hellfighter”? Last I heard it was being looked over by an editor and one of your fans.

As always the art was awesome!!! Do we get to see the Amonites next week? I can't wait to see more of them, as I know next to nothing about these shelled creatures!!!
I will buy this next second Anthology book the day one of it's release !
But I hope than the colored illustrations at he end will be in colors, and not in black and white.
Because I don't know why (if it's an error of the printing version that I received there two month, or another thing) but all the illustrations between pages 490-494 meant to be in color in Anthology 1 were in black and white !
Which was sad, because of all the illustration of this first book, there were the only mean to be in color normally.
Whithout mentioning that the yellow animals of the SongBird's Laments picture are almost invisible because of this.
I will maybe buy again Anthology 1, but that was a sad time for me.
Hope than Anthology 2 and The Lost Hellfighter will escape this destiny...
Nice video Keenan but I hope this isn't our last last look into the tyrant dynasty since I remembering you mentioned that the carcandotasaurs held on in Arveil during the tyrant dynasty.I wanna hear about those sometimes in the future. Also I remember you saying on deviantart that you are planning to have two nehamu relatives on the Kairul. Were those scrapped. Also did the tyrants survive on the crown of Kairul since from the looks of the map it barely looks affected.
There’s so much more to cover! Went for an overview perspective with an emphasis on the tyrants but there’s plenty more material to cover
Hey Keenan. I apologize if you have answered this question already, but I have been curious since I have seen it on your world map. Is the arctic continent of Kaimere as habitable as the Antarctic one(Kaishel)?
I've said very little about the North Pole. As that continent has a circumpolar current, there is very little of it that is habitable, although its surrounding oceans are among the most productive habitats on the planet.
I like the irony of the tyrant dynasty's end, the tyrannosaurs used to be the ones in the shadow and now they became a similar thing to what they were oppressed by... the allosauroids.
Who returned with a vengance in the form of the megaraptorans
O My GOD! I was waiting for episode about Tyrant Dynasty for so long and it's awesome also I'm so positively surprised to see my drawing in your episode :D

Also, I have one question about hadrosaurs nesting colonies. You many times said about ceratopians being their guardians of those herds while here you said only about Queens and Patriarchas, were ceratopians their protectors only in wetlands?
@@hinskiemaso9198 I can imagined that is both as canon, with some colonies been protected by the Omegatyrannus species and others beeing protected by the Ceratopsian.

I'd honestly like to dive a bit deeper into the Tyrant Dynasty. What kinds of ceratopsids were present?
Oh there’s definitely a lot more to cover. Only had a limited budget and decided to focus on the tyrants. A macro lens wouldn’t have allowed me to showcase the sheer diversity of the dynasty and figured a focus would help show change over time, but a downside is that dozens of other dominant clades didn’t have time for art and discussion. Certainly a lot more to explore down the road!
we need more Tyrant dysnasty videos
i agree
You know, in terms of dinosaur diversity late cretaceous Asis is a better version of N Américas hell creek and where most of my dinosaurs are descended from. while most N american taxa is extinct, tarbosaurines and alioramines both thrive
Hadrosaurs have grown into smaller ungulate like forms with the remaining giants holding out in remote areas while most large forms have been replaced by thescelosaurs
Therizinosaurs share their generalists omnivore niche with sloths though they outnumber them do to *E G G S* LBT reference, and cause I'm biased

Dracontyrannids : these are another family from the alioramids and are the most unique of them for they spans across Asia and Europe and have a unique set of skills , such as when they are young they have a ability like the bombarder beetle but different, they spray a burning hot chemical from their mouth to irritate predators but when older they loose this ability in favour of a savager life style as for the name they get that from their temporary ability and their horns , resembling more like gazelle horns

Great video as always!
Thank you!!
will we get a episode that explores the polar continents? or maybe one on the Permian continent or islands?
Depends on sponsors but it is a topic I want to explore down the road!
great video
(repost from last episode due to RUclips tomfoolery. Hopefully this time it gets through)
Shame that gorillas are now extinct on Kaimere (except for Flying Gorilla with his new game on the app store Flying Gorilla)
1. Since we see Tukudu now, how's Odaga doing? Any plans for a redesign and do they still brawl?
2. Are the chimps still around?
3. Do Angaru ever just make a big mob and end Oritaku? And considering their high intelligence has any individual tried to leave Pakardia either with getting onto human boats or making their own?
4. What do Kaimerans think of humans originating from apes? Do they know and accept the fact or do they have separate contradicing beliefs?
5. Are there any big apes outside the known world?
6. Did the First Children ever make any King Kong style giant ape homunculi?
I don't really buy Hadrosaurs being replaced by Thescelosaurids in large herbivore niches. Hadrosaurs were EXTREMELY efficient at what they did, & their ancestors were doing it since at least the Early Cretaceous. With there generalistic diets, fast breeding, quick maturity rates, isle hopping abilities, a history of out-competing other groups of large herbivores & the most efficient chewing system of ANY Dinosaur even if Hadrosaurs survived in small numbers it would be hard to imagine them not just bouncing back after the volcanism period...
But if you're not above taking some suggestions, I would propose a similar thing what you did with the Sauropods with a fringe subfamily taking over after the extinction period. For example, there were Lambeosaurines present in the Tyrant Dynasty just pushed to the fringes. What if Lambeo's took over after the volcanism period? Hear me out, the reasoning is if they were marginal species they were smaller in size & less dependent on the status quo (Perhaps even surviving in small island-hopping forms) so weren't dependent on the Chasmosaurine, giant Saurolophine, Tyrannosaur, Sauropod balancing game of the old age. And after the extinction event these small forms return to the mainland & can coevolve with at the time still small megaraptorians & predatory mammals.
And for the cherry on top, there is backing for this in the fossil record. In Cretaceous Asia there was a climatic overhaul between the early & mid Maastrichtian period which killed off a lot of the large herbivores. Before the overhaul the ecology was dominated by giant Saurolophines like Shantungosaurus, Saurolophus & Barsboldia, but after this those genera seem to die out & were replaced by Lambeosaurines like Amurosaurus, Olorotitan & Chanosaurus. And we do know through fragmentary remains in both the Hell's Creek & Ojo Alamo formations that Lambeosaurines were existing at the fringes even in North America.
You can still keep the mid to small sized Thescelosaurids such as the smaller diggers & runners since they're small enough to avoid competition with the hadrosaurs. But the giant species might need to be replaced.
I appreciate the thought, but it's not that the thescelosaurs outcompeted the hadrosaurs. They simply stepped up when the niches were vacant after the extinction. I will address a few hadrosaurs survivors later this month, but for the most part I want a clean ecological slate. It's not that I'm above taking suggestions, just I want to have the room for a new group of herbivores to get the opportunity to take up the mantle.
@@TalesofKaimere I'm aware of the surviving forms of Hadrosaur, that's why I brought this up. Though I must add, with the presumed extinction of the Deinocheirids in the known world the aquatic niches for the Thescelosaurids can still work.
I'm also a worldbuilder, just like you, but I don't share my creations. I always find your work very unusual and intresting, probably better than mine😶
Ps. Have you tought about episode about bovines in Kaimere? I would love to see maybe some species of buffalo/bison in your world.
There already is
Thank you! Bovines are going to get an episode eventually, just haven’t had a sponsor!
@@TalesofKaimere Btw, great coincidence !, I justly made a list of potential candidates species of Wild Cattle for Kaimere somewhere in this comments video list !
It's just in case to give you ideas (and, of course, following Kaimere and Known World conditions).
Suggestion for a video, troodontids and dinosauroids. I noticed a small spear wielding dinosaur in one of the tyrant dynasty drawings and I'm quite curious on it.
It's a Dinosauroid.
On Kaimere, a group a Troodontid became sapient and give to several species.
They survived the Tyrant Dynasty Extinction (because when you're sapient, everything is easier because you understand what's happen) and are technically the first sapient creatures of Kaimere.
They become extinct in the Known World due to the First Childrens and Cockatrices but are still alive on the Eastern Continent.
How well do you think reguwlr troodonts did on kaimere
Tarbosaurus huh? well they have a more narrow skull than T-Rex, what confused me is that it looked like you made rabbit-like ears, would predators see this as an opportunity to exploit its weakness? but overall not bad.
The Queen protecting behavior toward the Hadrosaurs Agricolasaurus' Herds work only with one single specie of Omegatyrannus in particular or it's a common bond that every Tyrannosaurs species of this same genus shares ?
(and also, Omegatyrannus name is a reference to the Omega Rex boss from Jurassic World The Game ?)
The herd protection was consistent across all species of Omegatyrannus, but practiced with the most complexity by the Ni’khari and Kairulan species.
Omegatyrannus has no reference as it’s source. Just means ‘last tyrant’.
Great video 👍
I really like the idea of the hadrosaurs and tyrannosaurs having some sort of pseudo-ranching(?) relationship! I have some questions though.
What does the Queen get in return for the protection of the colony? A guaranteed source of food in times of scarcity?
Does the Patriarch only fend of predators when the Queen is away hunting or does he work together with the Queen to fend off predators?
Queen mostly gets a reliable food source out of the deal. While much of her hunting is outside the colony, any colony members that die are hers to scavenge, and in a herd of several hundred to a couple thousand, that could happen once a week or so which was enough for her.
The patriarch and Queen would sometimes work together but not all the time.
@@TalesofKaimere Thanks for the answers! Love your project.
@@TalesofKaimere Speaking of which, would the queen "protect" the colony in the process by eating the herbivores that compete with the hadrosaurs?
@@ryanchen1819 Don't think that go "that" far.
May I ask are there representatives of extinct Gondwanatheres in Kaimere other than Xenarthrans like Notoungulates in Kaimere? Or maybe even terrestrial crocodiles or Giant squamates from lizards and snakes?
There the Macrauchenia aka Baru as example. But for know, it's unclear if others Native South American Ongulates made it too on Kaimere.
Barinasuchid and Sebecid aren't stated for now,
But Notosuchia are present in great diversity.

Are the patriarchs actually able to stand on 2 legs? Given the stiffness of the hadrosaur spine, and the weight of the animal? Saurolophines probably weren't able to walk bipedal as adults for more than a quick run.
I loved the video and I have a question sense spinosaurus and theriz are my favorite dinosaurs are there any relic populations of either still on kimer
There are very likely still therizinosaurs in Kairul and possibly Kaishel but not in the known world. Spinosaurs are most likely extinct.
Will you do a dedicated video when Anthology 2 will be available to buy ?
Because for now, it's preorder, right ?
So inspiring!!!!
Thank you!!
I have a question here,So Omegatyrannus evolved from tarbosaurus who were brought to kaimere but what about tyrannosaurus?Shouldn't tyrannosaurus been brought to kaimere soon enough and what about the other hell creeck formation animals?
Why most of these video are in a low quality?!
I like the idea of an individual being a farmer of a herd... I think I'll appropriate it.
Aside from tyrannosaurs, hadrosaurs, ceratopsians, and titanosaurs, what other dinosaurs were common during the dynasty?
Ankylosaurid, Dromaeosaurid, Troodontid, Abelisaurid and Ornithomimid were all abundants.
Today, the Ornithomimid and Troodontid are only found in the Eastern Continent, the others still in Modern Kaimere in relatively correct diversity.
The raptors at 19:38 are Deinonychus, and their preys maybe a Tenontosaurus (I don't remember).
Why did you take the design of this depiction to simply put on for the Indrakai ?
What is the name of your editor for book 1 ?
is it the same for book 2 ?
it's agree for all the others books you will published in the future ?
Imagine the queen and the patriarch clocking in like the wolf and the sheep dog from Looney tunes
Should be a funny scene XD
Do you know any unique prehistoric mammals or snapsids I can use in my own project im trying it to use the family’s in yours 😅
what are the 6 hadrosaur species? 2:52
So these tyrannosaurs are larger than Rex since the largest specimen Tyrannosaurus rex Scotty is 10 tons pretty interesting
Yup! Many species reached or exceeded the size of T. rex
Do you ever have plans to release a Kamairean beastiary? I'd pick that up in a heart beat haha
I am indeed! One of the many projects I’m chipping away at. Will likely be released after the Lost Hellfighter is published as it canonically takes place after Elijah’s story

Sorry for being off topic, but why many of your kaimere animal drawings in deviantart are marked as "content indicated for mature audiences" ?
Thank you! I have no idea why that would be. Some of my earlier pieces depicted mild animal violence, so I assume that’s why my account might have been labeled as such but really I have no idea
@@TalesofKaimere I suspected that could have been some algorithm shenanigan, but just found wierd that were not even the pics with some animal violence but just random images like the An'Garu, the Black Cockatrice and even some spectember entries
And thank you for answering
What would *you* say about the status of Kaimere? is it in a new Dynasty? or is it still within a Dark Age?
I'd say it's in a new dynasty, since there's a relatively consistent biota planetwide. While the known world is in a bit of biodiversity turmoil, most animals coming in from the Miocene onward have a minimal impact on most regions. It's not the clades of the Tyrant Dynasty, but mammals have generally failed to take on large dominant niches aside from a few exceptions beyond the known world.
What were the largest mammals in the Tyrant Dynasty?
Probably no more than a few hundred pounds, with a few short-lived exceptions after the Oligocene harvest
@@TalesofKaimere The biggest were the Indricotheres-sized brontotheres, but they don't survived to Modern Kaimere.
I am curious since this family was mentioned in the video, are there still any therizinosaurs still surviving into the modern era of kaimere?
Still undecided
Present on Kaishel and Pakardia, but unknown in the others regions.
Could you do a video on the jurassic island
Someday!
Got a question. The crescent sea is a really cool name and I've just begun my own seed world project a few months ago and recently a sea has formed that looks like a crescent but I don't want to call it the crescent sea (since that what's you're is called). Any recomendations?
The Half-moon Sea ?
Idk. Maybe Imisilinos Sea (that's Greek for crescent). However I think that's a bit long. I'm just gonna have to brainstorm the idea for a few days. BTW if you want to read my project it's first few chapters will be published on Wattpad (i know wattpad has a bad reputation but I can't be bothered to make a website, write a book or make RUclips videos though RUclips might be my next step) once I've finished the first Era. It's called Terra 2.
@@mysterioussoup3393 I'm interested ! Terra 2. Maybe a simple but nice title to this project.
What is the description of this seed world ? (main animals, plants clades) ?
Hmm maybe the Sickle or Scythe Sea? I certainly don't mind if you use the Crescent Sea especially since mine is named after the continent, and the sea itself isn't crescent shaped.
so which genus is the antler rex in the beginning of the ep and the one at the end? or is that one not canion ?
It’s canon, but not in the genera listed for the third epoch. That one was one of the Alioramine predators in the second epoch
Which were the ceratopsians of the tyrant dynasty?
Ooh, does the crown of Kairul still maintain this previous dynasty?
There a chance, but small.
Altrought, sure that during the extinction event, creatures from the south may have take refuge in this place.
It has a few relics, and is the most likely place for persistent tyrannosaurs
@@TalesofKaimere interesting! I'm looking forward to discovering more!

8:05 crop milk
Indeed. It is a cursed notion.
Did Albertosaurs ever get harvested in Kaimere?
There was a North American harvest in the Campanian so probably!
2:38 Where is Therizinosaurus? Are they safe? Are they alright?
They are present on Pakardia with one specie, and on Kaishel (because Pakardia was previousely part of this contiennt so it's a indication that reveal this fact) and maybe on the Eastern Continent.
What happened to the therizinosaurs that were brought into Kaimere?
They went strong for 50 million years. Might still be present in Kairul I haven’t decided
@@TalesofKaimere They are already present on Kaishel and Pakardia !
Are any of the past dynasties surviving beyond the known world?
Absolutely! The Permian Dynasty has two regions, a Jurassic dynasty has a large island, and Kaishel has many relics of the first dynasty
@@TalesofKaimere what about Kairul?
@@KnightlyNerd Kairul have most of the Oligocene Harvest Legacy, who compose almost 90% of the Cenozoïc animals on this landmass. With some inclusion of Miocene animals like the Deinotherium aka Koga, and a really small percent of Pleistocene animal.
@@KnightlyNerd On Kaishel, there also several Jurassic legacy era animals that survived, like Dicreosaurid sauropod and Iguanodontid ornithopod.
Ankylosaurid and Therizinosaurs are also present on this cold continent, with representatives who go to the Known World with Pakardia when this landmass broke from Kaishel.
Before Pakardia arrived on the Known World, Ankylosaurid were already present on both continents (having the same success than the titanosaurs thank to their reproduction method).
So what next for this month?
Next up we have ammonites!
So all the tyrannosaurs here come from Asia that means T-Rex never came to this world or did it?
That is correct: T. rex was never harvested
