1:12 Bombay is a Cake Eater. Banks would be proud.
Omg nice catch! Lol I bet they threw that in for fun too
Underrated comment.
He's a figurative and literal cake eater! Hahaha!

I dunno why, but seeing Emilio Esteves really hit me in the feels. Great seeing you again, Coach! We've missed you.
I hope they have appearances by the original cast... I always pictured the return of the Mighty Ducks involving Charlie being in Bombay's role as the coach...
Said the same thing bruh please have some of the OG ducks on here since Mighty Ducks is my favorite childhood movie I'll give this a shot. #QuackQuackQuack
I was thinking the same thing! They have to do this; having some of those characters talking about how hockey and Bombay made such a positive change in their lives.
Would that include Joshua Jackson, Jussie Smollett and Elden Henson?
They just need to the follow the script of Cobra Kai and they should have success. Bring back the old actors.
Joshua jackson may make an appearance
Emilio Estevez as he's gotten older has really morphed into his dad Martin Sheen. His mannerisms are so much like his dad it's hard not to see Martin Sheen. Awesome to see him on screen again, he looks great!
I recently watched The West Wing for the first time back in December and noticed that watching Martin Sheen.
It's like Denzel's son who was in the blackklansman. The whole time watching it, I was saying to myself he seems familiar, googled who it was and now I cannot see Denzel. His voice is spot on just like Denzel.
@@adamrodgers9175 OMG!!! I had the exact same experience when I watched Blackklansman! I didn't know it was his son and had to Google because his voice and mannerisms were so familiar! Impossible to unsee Denzel especially with that movie!!

I can hear a little bit of Charlie in his voice.

The Mighty Ducks are like the Hawks in the 1st Mighty Ducks movie: A Powerhouse team. They made Gordon Bombay like his character at the start of the 1st MD movie: hating both hockey and kids.
Don't know if they are like the Hawks or not. I mean we didn't really see any bullying on the teams. Just a kid wasn't good enough to be on it. Since when is that Bullying? Hawks bullied other kids. I hope that is not what they are doing because that ain't the ducks.
@@retrostuff8976 yeah seems more like they’ve just become cold and business like about the game rather than outright ruthless bullies
Not being good enough is seen as a form of bullying now.
And now the hawks are the worst team
it is a really interesting twist how they made the Ducks into the powerhouse team lol
So first cobra kai and now the mighty ducks. Are they trying to make us feel depressed that we r getting old? What's next, back to the future series? Actually that would be amazing 🤔
Little Giants
It would be amazing if this followed the Cobra Kai model. I'll happily take 5 season+ of this show.
Showgirls is the sequel we all want.
Id watch that
They won't do Back to the Future since the creator, Robert Zemeckis, said he doesn't want to continue the story. It also wouldn't be the same since Michael J. Fox retired from acting because of his Parkinson’s. Would it be fun? Probably but definitely not the same
First shot of this trailer, looks like winning became synonymous with Hendrix

Yes sir, Mr. Ducksworth. Thank you very much, Mr. Ducksworth. Quack, quack, quack, Mr. Ducksworth!

TRUE! This is going to be a trash series
@The Legendary L
No you are wrong. If you watched the trailer and still think it's worth a try. Then I challenge you. Go watch all 3 movies and then rewatch this trailer and tell me how anyone who grew up watching these movies would ever truly watch a tv series based off those movies and see this trailer and be be like yea I want to watch a series named after some awesome movies that trash on the team by telling fans hey you remember the mighty ducks well imagine they the hawks now and we are going to watch this Karen's pov of how the ducks are mean and need to be beaten cause my kid can't skate.
If they wanted to make a series about a Karen who can make a team awesome with no background in hockey then fine. But dont trash on the franchise that made it possible for you to have this terrible idea. So yes its not worth a try for fans. Liking a movie and being a fan of the movie are very different same as you might like to watch hockey but your not a fan of the game or any team.
@The Legendary L
But you see my point right?
@The Legendary L
I do apologize for the rage comment but I am a true fan and these movies helped me when I was younger with bullies and just this past year when my Dad passed away so to see them make this in this way hurts. I guess I was a lil harsh but mainly sad cause I feel like no one sees it from my point of view. I mean how could they really they didn't live my life. Look I had a custom ducks jersey made for my Dad a long time ago and now its just in my closet its hard to see it hanging there sometimes but I'm done. I just don't want to see how they villainize a team that has helped me so much. Anyways hope you have a great day.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but despite how I was borderline obsessed with these films as a kid, almost nothing about this new series excites me at all. I hate to make an unfair comparison, but I feel like Cobra Kai nailed it with their formula for updating a bygone franchise to draw in the new with the old fan base, but this just feels like taking the name and throwing Emilio Estevez at the wall and hoping something sticks.
I definitely agree. And for someone who loves 80s/90s actors this really isn’t exciting for me. I remember loving the movie when I was younger but this just isn’t doing it for me. Glad to see Emilio though.
Well I mean people said stuff exactly like what you just said about Cobra Kai when it's trailer first dropped :P
I feel the same way. It could also be a bad trailer
perfectly said.
Nailed it. Not my Mighty Ducks
Are we sure this isn't called _The Mighty Ducks: Cobra Kai_ ?
It would’ve been better to see Charlie taking on Gordon’s old role. Seeing Gordon revert back to the way he was before the first movie is depressing
I just felt it is so unnecessary to see Gordon once again being self destructive.
@@Ben-il3oc I agree. They could’ve gone about it a different way
At least they give us a good reason for it. Poor guy 😔😔😔
@@WarGrowlmon18 what was the good reason?
@@osamabad3597 He explained it in episode 3: after Gordon helps the team by slipping them a play, Alex confronts him and Gordon explains what happened. Basically after the Ducks got too hypercompetitive Gordon walked away from the team for good. I'm guessing that event happened after the old gang graduated or whatever. So Gordon walks away and becomes a college hockey coach but he is eventually forced to resign. You can see an article about that very briefly in the trailer actually. What happened was that one of Gordon's players was struggling financially, couldn't even buy tape for his stick so Gordon bought it for him. That kid went on to play pro for the Islanders fyi. But by buying that for him, Gordon inadvertently broke some NCAA rule or state law or something like that and he was forced to quietly resign and was banned from ever again coaching college hockey as a result. Then he inherited that rink from Jan, a rink that came with a ton of debt. All of that combined with Gordon's own hockey career which ended in injury all combined together to make him angry and bitter about hockey but he doesn't actually hate it, he admits that much. But helping this new team is slowly bringing out the old Gordon again and he even removes that No Hockey sign after talking with Alex about what had happened to him.
Basically they Luke Skywalker'ed Gordon Bombay to being a recluse who turned his back on everything. It tosses all of his character development from the movies in the trash.
I was thinking the same thing. You beat me to it.
Yeah, he had such a cool role in Mighty Ducks 3, it felt like his role had a satisfying conclusion. This trailer makes it look like they’re throwing all that character development away
Disney sure hates positive male role models.
For real!
Wasent gordon like a leading guy, player development as part of the JR goodwill games organization?
Now he's a chum rink owner who hates it all.
Dumb.
If you think about how big that team became in the OG trilogy it makes sense that the Ducks are the antagonists. They literally represented USA and the varsity team of a prestigious college. I'm sure the original district team was taken care of to continue the legacy since the OG team got older. If anything once they were in high school they wouldn't be Ducks as we knew them in D1. So I'm sure there's a version the Ducks in the private school and the original peewee team.
Really good to see Lauren Graham back in action again

With the series being pulled from Disney+ in a few days, I wanna say The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers was not a perfect show. They could’ve made a few improvements with the story and some characters, but I think it was real nice seeing some familiar faces being tied to the show. Big regrets are not having Gordon Bombay appear in Season 2 and Charlie Conway (Joshua Jackson) being the only OG Duck completely absent from the rest of his former teammates. Either way, it was enjoyable from certain perspectives, and having Cam Fowler appear in the final episode was a good surprise.
Wish they would bring back Charlie's mom haha, she is BEAUTIFUL

Wait, wait, hold on a second! Why does Bombay hate Hockey and Kids again?? Wasnt that a big part of his character development in the originals that he refound his love for the game and respected the kids???

Wow. Get chills from Lauren Graham’s quote at the end.
My senior year of high school year book quote(circa 2008)…was from Michael Flatley(Irish Dance phenomenon and amateur boxer which is where the quote originates from imo-Flatley is of Riverdance then his own Lord of the Dance show fame)
“Life isn’t about the number of times you get knocked down, it’s about the number of times you get back up”. Couldn’t be a more true quote. You got to take on life ready to battle, be up for the challenge at all times.
So, let me get this straight. It's a Disney reboot where the hero of the original films who got everything he worked for at the end of the original trilogy (if you will), is now shown to be a miserable failure who lost everything and hides away from and hates everything that he once stood and fought for.
I feel like this might be the "Disney formula" for reboots. I understand that continuing the story in this particular franchise would be difficult, but if that's the case then don't do it if you can't come up with a reasonable continuation that doesn't trash everything that came before it.
I don't think any of the 3 movies we hold dear actually happened. Read the article she was reading. It makes no reference to Bombay being a lawyer or coaching pee wee hockey. It doesn't mention his attempt to go pro after the first movie. In this, he is a legendary hockey player whereas he wasn't exactly in the trilogy. I don't even know if any of the trilogy is going to be canon after this.

Funny I have a small theory. I was thinking that the main mom character in this series is that girl Charlie fell in love with in the third Ducks movie. This sucks. So in a nutshell, the original Mighty Ducks have become like the Hawks. Bombay coaches a new upstart team, instead of his original Ducks. And no sign of the original cast of Ducks.
We want to move onward. We want a story more along the lines of Charlie Conway, Adam Banks, Jesse Hall, and the rest of the gang making the NHL with the Anaheim Ducks, something like that.
Have you seen pics of those actors? They're not going to pass as NHL players. Maybe Goldberg could.

Ooh, the Ducks are the villains now.
Looking forward to the prequel where the Hawks were the underdogs. 😉
I am sure DISNEY would be stupid enough to do that to try and squeeze more money out of the franchise.

But helping this new team is slowly bringing out the old Gordon again and he even removes that No Hockey sign after talking with Alex about what had happened to him.
@@WarGrowlmon18 Thanks for breaking it down! I totally missed that episode. I'm glad he went down trying to help ppl instead of self destructive behavior like in the first movie.
That’s the guy from the old mighty ducks
1:11 - 1:16 1:28 - 1:32 so this kids Mom is Rey and Coach Bombay has become hermit Luke Skywalker. That whole scene/dialouge reminds me when Rey found Luke hibernating in an unknown location.
Emilio Esteves is absolutely amazing in this. He brings so much heart, charm and character to the screen. He is everything that has been missing from tv that these new age actors will never deliver. What a legend
Disney dropped Emilio - I will never watch this series again!!
I had no idea that Disney was making a Mighty Ducks Disney+ show until I saw a trailer on TV when I was watching Superman and Lois. I got so excited when I watch the trailer for The Mighty Ducks Game Changers. Thank you Disney so much for bring back The Mighty Ducks.
Several original cast is also back
I hope Goldberg makes an appearance, as a Hobo or something.
I’m from the generation where The Ducks started. Now I understand this is a new generation, but this can’t hold a candle to original ducks. The fact that not a single og duck is in this movie, and Bombay hates kids and hockey. I will not watch this, I want to keep my childhood memories alive and well.
It's not a movie, It's a whole season and some of the of original ducks do return later on.
@@ivnjpg still not going to watch it.
This show is awesome with
The old ducks and the new ducks !!!
Coach Jack Reilly:
"Gordon if you miss this shot. Your not just letting your team down. Your letting me down too.
Notice how Gordon Bombay is eating cake.....
CAKE EATER!!
He needs to go play some real hockey.
Honestly I'd be fine with Kennan not coming back for this. He ain't the same Kennan back then. Nor do I believe he could act like the future of his character. Rather have the Bash Brothers.
This looks so fun!! We love all things 80s/90s nostalgia, so really looking forward to this!!🥰🌈🙂
if it is so . u have to ignore that serie. it has nothing to do with the spirit.
its a kids show LOL
I love it how Emilio is back at acting again and old cast from the old movies return. Hope they bring Charlie Conway back in Season 2 before the show is over because he was the king of the old Mighty Ducks movies.
Disney just let Estevez go from a news article I just read because he won't get vaccinated.
This is the most predictable storyline ever. They will end up winning the match and the coach and the mom will love each other at the end. This may have worked like 20 years ago but come on it's 2021
Maybe 30 years ago; even 20 years ago, that storyline was predictable.
I think they'll lose the first season actually, might make the final but they'll lose imo.
Who cares if it's predictable. Just have fun with it you dork. It's not Game of Thrones.
It’s more kids 😂 it’s not that serious
Yeah, it’s 2021, don’t you think we need a safe and predictable storyline now more than ever??
So we're halfway through the series and I've officially decided that Nick is my hero and possibly my spirit animal. Anyone else?
