What always gets me about this scene is that, in the time it took Martin to set this up he probably could have gone to the doctor and gotten his prescription filled out and picked up :=)
The other thing that I think is brilliant about this is that I don’t think Niles would try to have Martin get him out of the ticket if he actually had done something wrong, so even from the very beginning he had seen through the whole ploy and played along because he knew that’s what was expected.
This is from an episode called Junior Agent, from season 9. I think that's kind of sad that I knew that off the top of my head. I watch too much Frasier. :p
@ULGROTHA Did you say "protestors" or "looters and arsonists"? You know, in those USA these expressions seem to sound more and more alike. Its probably the accent or something.
I wonder if they ever thought about making a spin-off based on Niles and Daphne... I mean it's too late now. Either way "Cheers" and "Frasier" were wonderful enough.
@akirren No such thing ! (as watching too muchFrasier!) It was such good quality tv- well written, acted and it was such a good ensemble cast- each character could hold their own in the show!

If I'm honest the only real thing I see that's similar about Sheldon and Niles is the somewhat fastidious or compulsive habits, but their characters aren't very similar at all. The only real connection is David Hyde Pierce and Jim Parson's joint ability to play characters that they can embody so well. I'm not a Big Bang Theory fan and I dislike Sheldon's character as I find him irritating, self-absorbed and overly clinical when it comes to emotions but I can't deny that Parsons plays the character admirably and you can't really imagine anyone else being Sheldon, just as I can't imagine anyone except DHP playing Niles.
David Hyde Pierce and Jim Parsons are both gay but that's like saying they both have white skin. I saw more of a comparison between Niles and Barney from HIMYM. But that's more they look similar (blonde hair and suit) and are both wealthy. And they do play they're roles very well. The actors are known by three names and Neil Patrick Harris is also gay.
Well, that's funny, we know sheldon's an Aspie (it's been confirmed) and I have long suspected Niles as being a fellow Aspie too. He exhibits quite a lot of the traits, so does Frasier to an extent but not as much. I think I will make a video exploring this at some point in the near future. 🤔
1:53 Niles rewrite me that prescription for me right now...remember I can get out of this car and tell him to go to town on you with violation tickets. He can make you have a very bad day and believe me, you don't want that...
Watching the show, you sort of think Niles is Marty's favorite of his two sons. Of course Marty loved them both but Frasier wasn't one to stay planted in Seattle, especially in the relationship department. Niles seemed more inclined to settle in Seattle and with relationships more than Frasier did. Marty did at least see Niles more because he was in the city, while Frasier was building a life of his own on the East Coast. Marty also seemed to hang out with Niles a little more than Frasier even though he lived with Frasier.
Given most Doctor's handwriting Martin could hand that in and still end up with something.
And probably get the wrong thing too :=)
This was actually just one of the many times that proved to me that Niles was the most intellectually smart of the family, and that he was just very emotionally blind when it came to himself. Best character on the show, in my opinion. :)
