I love how much David Hyde Pierce and Kelsey Grammer complement each other in this programme. David is so good at the big, outrageous physical stuff, which is perfect because of how Niles is normal so prim and proper, but Kelsey is so good at being somehow subtle and cartoonish at the same time. A wonderful pairing!
@@EdnaK728 I love the idea that British spelling is aggressive! I now have this vision of someone swapping the two letters at the end of "center" in the manner that one might snap the neck of a foe by sharply twisting their head.

0:45 It's just brilliant, how DHP does this little body movement to emphasize the aggression with which he pushes the door bell again and then the shift of his eyes piercing into the direction of Frasier. Watching "Frasier" is like watching Jazz musicians doing magic.
The episode where Niles feels sick and he's just trying to not ride in the elevator but he ends up riding it like 6 times, his physical reactions are hilarious, he bearly says 2 words as well. So clever and funny, god I miss this show 😅

Niles ironing his pants and cutting his finger and fainting and burning the sofa and Eddie eating the pasta and.............absolute Keaton, Chaplin, Lloyd, Laurel and Hardy!!! David Hyde Pierce; genius stuff! Thank you very much for this. Brilliant sitcom and cast.
My favorite is in an episode where Niles zips up Daphnes zipper in the back of her dress and gets his tie hopelessly stuck in the zipper. He's caught in back of her kind of bent over. Frasier sees him and drily says, " Niles, you seem to have something on your tie."

I know it's not exactly an original opinion but this show succeeded in a big way with how lucky it was to have David Hyde Pierce play Niles. To this day I don't think it's been topped as the most believable brother dynamic in TV history
I think the show worked so well because they made Niles like Frasier, instead of how writers usually do with making the sibling a complete opposite. It was more believable having them be similar and gave them more material to work with.
One of my favorite’s is when Niles can’t sleep because of Daphne can’t sleep. What had me rolling was when he jumped over her & flew off the bed 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for your uploads

I don’t always like physical comedy, but find DHP is just brilliantly funny - everything from the physicality to the facial expressions is on point. One of my favourites is the one where he does yoga, and how even his pinkie is inflexible.
One of the funniest Niles moment is not shown here. He was showing Martin his karate training and he accidentally kicked Daphne in the behind and she threw up a tray of food she was carrying.

He was also great in “the powers that be” too bad the show was cancelled before it caught an audience
