My wife of 39 yrs old died of breast cancer in 2011. We use to watch this show together and just laugh our butts off. I still love watching the reruns today. I can still here her laughter in a show she loved so much. Thank you Frasier for the wonderful memories.

I can picture this so easily. Mine and I are watching through the box set now for the first time. We've never laughed so much at any tv show. It's a great way to spend time with somebody. Casting wasn't always great for smaller parts, especially when they brought in English characters. I'm watching it atm as an English person and man, some of those accents are godawful. I spent much, even most of my life at loose ends, struggling to figure out what I was supposed to be doing in this world. I tried being an actor, a lawyer, a teacher... nothing suited me. I was watching an episode of Frasier one night, and it struck me. In the episode, Frasier was struggling to get to Frasier Crane Day celebrations, and just when he was able to get there, he chose to stay and help a man in need. Frasier was intelligent, principled, noble and tasteful... qualities I like to think I have myself. I realized, THAT was the life I wanted.
So, I returned to school (at 40... they dubbed me "Grandpa Frosh"), and pursued a degree in psychology. I graduated with honours, owing a great debt to Kelsey Grammer and the creators of Frasier, for inspiring me to reach for what I truly needed to be.
I love the show, I love the characters, and I love everyone involved in its creation.
RIP John Mahoney, he'll never be forgotten.
And, to Bebe Neuwirth, hubba hubba. Had to be said.

I was laughing so hard because that's truly one of the best scenes ever written for television, and seeing John hardly being able to say the line without bursting into laughter was awesome. But suddenly in the middle of laughing, I stopped. I just couldn't anymore because all I could think is he's gone now. I wanted to cry. So yes, R.I.P. John Mahoney. You are sorely missed.

I like the one where Niles has a sword fight with the German, and there's a muddle in the translation : the maid translates , it goes along the line and ends with Frasier :
    then the mistake is discovered.
Also the bit where Niles is on the piano, taunting the German, waves the sword and it flies away.

Another of my favorites is "High Holidays"...
Niles never had a moment of teenage rebellion, so he decided to. He gets a pot brownie from Roz (her neighbor makes them!). Martin eats it, thinking it's a regular brownie, and replaces it with one from the Cafe Nervosa.
Niles goes about acting like an idiot, and blaming it on "the ganja". While Martin is stoned off his ass, thinking he took too much cough syrup.
      It's HYSTERICAL!!!
John Mahoney stole the show in that episode!!!

This show was so unbelievably wholesome. That's the single word I can think of that makes sense. It was wholesome without any children, with no marriages (for most of it), with no religions, with no politics, (other then one episode) a severe lack of drama. I love this show still. It's amazing because it was also a show that didn't involve young super attractive types. Peri and Jane are very attractive, don't get me wrong, but they aren't that category of unrealistic. The characters they played were never even made out to be anything amazing physically. Roz hooked up with many younger dudes. Daphne was a goddess to Niles. She was attractive to everyone else. That's how they wrote it, performed it and it was amazing.
