Is there any way to make the kugel without eggs, or with a substitute? I would like to make this for my husband and my son, but my husband cannot have eggs.
Just a suggestion from a recipe I got years ago from my then neighbor who invited me and my daughter for a Shabbos day meal....We came home and both of us said in unison "we must get that kugel recipe" :). Add water or seltzer to the kugel....Here's the recipe: 8 med red potatoes, 1 medium onion, 1 cup water or seltzer, 1/2 cup oil, 3 or 4 eggs, 1 Tbsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper (to taste). Start by beating the eggs, water/seltzer, oil, salt&pepper, then start the potato & onion in food processor and very quickly (so the potatoes don't turn brown) mix into the egg mixture very well. Preheat oven to 450, bake for half hour and then lower oven to 350 for 1 1/2 hrs. Funny thing is that she actually included the skin in her kugel, and I know how healthy it is, but I could never (still to this day) get myself to do this. Been watching your videos and enjoying very much your beautiful, happy personality. Much nachas from your lovely family.
You could use vegan chocolate sprinkles to roll them in. Chopped pecans also look pretty, as do shredded coconut and cocoa dust. If you like it edgy you could even roll them in cocoa nibs, cinnamon or ground coffee. Btw, those date balls are full of sugar. It's not sugar free and shouldn't be advertised as such. It's just free of any added sugar. I love how great you and your husband work together in the kitchen. Must be a lot of fun to cook those shabbos dinners together. What else are you serving on the side?
Great recipes! I usually cook without measuring things, but if I bake I use measurements. I also use all kinds of nuts and seed in my pesto (I don't like the piney flavor of pine nuts).I have a question: do you invite non jewish people to your Shabbos dinner? Have a happy and blessed dinner tonight! Oh! I almost forgot: your dog is super cute and your food processor is a very hard worker heheheh!
Haha that was so type 3 of you how you knew there would be date pits and you just dived in!! I would have cut open every single one to look for them. I'm a type 2/4. Funny Love these recipes!

Sara No-h from my experience chia seeds make a perfect egg because they jell up, or you could just use matzah meal or bread crumbs.

For most fruits the nutrients are strongest in the peels.
Sadly with chemical sprays now only organic fruit vegs are safe.
