You need to keep the sensor that is designed for your engine! Swap the connector on the harness for the one that corresponds with your engine's sensor and be sure to wire it correctly for your set-up. Use the custom drop-down menu to choose your cam and crank sensor type under the ignition tab. thx J
Are the connectors wired the same?
@@screamerobsz0644 yes...I think so as I haven't done it yet have had it confirmed. As for the connector you can just file the tang off in the plug to go from the 58t plug to 24t sensor
@@screamerobsz0644 Yes, unless you are using a timing cover mounted 1X sensor on a 4X wheel. If so you will need to swap the A and C pins in the connector. Thx J
I have a 550-905 kit “ls2” 24x 1x motor and swapping the pins cause the cam sensor to read nothing and have the crank sensor go crazy. I swapped it back to normal and it runs just fine. So don’t listen to this guy
Yeah I’m starting to see that this video is full of shit and the folks over at Holley know just as much about their product as the clowns do over at fi-tech.
Ok, not sure what the issue is, but this is NOT true in all cases, I have a 550-010 setup, running a 24xcrank 6.0, LS9 cam, front mounted cam sensor, 1X gear. Was told to follow this video by Holley tech dept, engine would not start, only back fired, was told cam sensor was bad, $70 later(new GM) no change, numerous calls/emails got nowhere. The cam syc light would go red when you tried to start. After 3 weeks of jerking around I swapped the wires back to original position, started right up, so something screwy here.
How did you set it up in the wizard when you changed the wires back to normal, as a 58, 24, or custom in the software? Pretty sure I’m having the same exact issue right now and I’m about to swap them back to normal
@@JackmeriusTaktheritrix just set as 24T which is what I have, has run fine
