You are not the only one thinks that. Without any doubt, the best video I have ever seen. I love scuba and I usually watch underwater videos. I think this one over passed my expectations. I had to watch it twice. Cinematic effect is incredible. Stabilization is great. Lights and contrasts are perfect. Transitions between scenes are optimal. Undoubtly, no words describe it's really good quality. Thanks for delighting us like this!

@@SearenityQuest Thanks. I was there when the fluffy pink beetle appeared. Oh the gossip! I dove the ferry many times and was told not to enter. As a cave diver l didn't listen. It's a special dive and after the newer wrecks arrived it's not popular anymore, there's alot of life there now. A few years later l was saddened with the chains. Gozo has a special place in my hart, especially George from Calypso Dive Centre and the local police officer.

Because of that video, I booked Malta this September 2022. And I dont have any bad feelings about that decision- Malta seems to have all I am looking for, plenty of fish, caverns, caves and wrecks. Thanks and nice job with the vid!

Hi Emon. Sorry for the late reply , i was on a diving trip . Thanks a lot for your kind review , You do not have to be an Advanced diver to dive Malta BUT i highly recommend to either do your advanced course here or to come to dive Malta once you already are a certified advanced diver because as you pointed out as an OWD , you would not be allowed to dive most of the wrecks... which is mostly what Malta underwater is about .
Totally blown away!! Again, a masterpiece. Great music, amazing footage and perfect editing. Well done ! This is one of the best locations to dive wrecks from WW2 in Europe. I have been here many many times and still not seen all the wrecks properly. If you are into wrecks put this spot on your bucket list.

@@patrickschneider1977 The AX33 is a good camcorder , i guess there must be a housing designed for it . I personally do not like Go Pros for underwater filming even though it is a incredible and versatile camera. Nowadays i would not buy a camcorder but a DSLR

Thank you so much , it is very considerate of you , as always ! In this video you have a mix of 7 different wrecks which list you can find in the credits at the end of the video. The very first image is actually the P31 (Comino) 😉 but you're right some of the shots at the beginning are from the P29 . I sincerely hope that you can come to Malta in July , even though I unfortunately doubt it . I am afraid we all have to stay put for a (long) while.The ones I would recommend are P29 (which you already know) , Karwela in Gozo , Um el Faroud and Le Polynesien (if the viz is ok ) , the one you should not do is the Imperial eagle as it was dealt a severe blow after the last storm last year. Besides i love caves in general , the ones in Comino are real fun . Stay safe
Phenomenal short movie. I called it 'movie' because it is at a completely different level compared to other videos. There are many great underwater videos with great footage, music, etc., but this and all other videos of yours (I watched them all several times already) stands out because they are very cinematic. Every single detail is thought through. Transitions from drone footage to underwater footage are perfect. Great idea, excellent execution! I see that you have a similar set up that I have. What color filter do you use? The one that came with the Gates housing? Red or pink?

I do try to make them look as cinematic as possible and i do pay attention to little details as well , that is why i always need such a long time for editing . It is extremely nerve-racking and discouraging at times but your beautiful comments are the best reward i could wish for. I use the orange filter mounted on the Gates and color correct in post when needed . I realized at first that the AX100 really struggles with achieving an accurate manual white balance U/W. I tried with a white slate but got uneven results .Besides As you need to do a new MWB every time lightning conditions or depths change , i found the process to be very tedious . I would sometimes also miss filming some unexpected action shots while manipulating the camera . Instead , i try to get the best possible exposure and rely a lot on the fantastic Keldan lights and change the positions of the housing arms a lot. I take care of the adjustments in post.

With newer Sony camcorders like NX80 and Z90, they say that a slate is not required and that the camera determines WB based on the information from each scene when you press WB button. In your case, what is the Setting for WB in your camcorder: a set value, i.e. 5400K, Auto or something else? I usually keep it on Auto or set it to 5600K like my Keldans but it tends to give too warm color tones in some situations. Getting it right is very tricky indeed 😀 . Be safe Val

@@RobertoPiroddi Hi Roberto . Comparing both would obviously be to the advantage of Egypt . The Red Sea biodiveristy exeeds the Mediterranean one by far. The red Sea satisfies even the most demanding divers hence its incredible popularity as a diving destination . On the other hand, the Mediterranean sea in general and Malta in particular is known for its steep dropoffs and numerous wrecks . The viz here is also just incredible throughout the year . I would say that both offer different dive experiences.On land, Malta is famous for its culture and history . Take care Roberto.

@@SearenityQuest Thank you for your reply, Yann. I agree that using a white slate is not practical in most situations. This is probably one of the reasons of why Gates stopped manufacturing them. With newer Sony camcorders like NX80 and Z90, they say that a slate is not required and that the camera determines WB based on the information from each scene when you press WB button. Juan Monterey, whose full time job is to study all this staff and experiment, is achieving very good results. He is setting MWB to the scene for every single shot. In your case, what is the Setting for WB in your camcorder: a set value, i.e. 5400K, Auto or something else? I understand that when you rely on your video lights as the main source of light, you probably set WB to the K value of your lights, but what WB setting are you using for wider scenes? @@DiversLens Thank you so much for the Gates link and the RUclips one, very interesting and useful, i will check them out. I usually keep it on Auto or set it to 5600K like my Keldans but it tends to give too warm color tones in some situations. Getting it right is very tricky indeed 😀 . Be safe Val

@@RobertoPiroddi Hi Roberto . Comparing both would obviously be to the advantage of Egypt . The Red Sea biodiveristy exeeds the Mediterranean one by far. The red Sea satisfies even the most demanding divers hence its incredible popularity as a diving destination . On the other hand, the Mediterranean sea in general and Malta in particular is known for its steep dropoffs and numerous wrecks . The viz here is also just incredible throughout the year . I would say that both offer different dive experiences.On land, Malta is famous for its culture and history . Take care Roberto.
