If you have firmware between 4.1.D.R2 and 5.42.C.R2 you can update to 5.43.A.R2 direct link above.

Hi. Like myself I updated the firmware, but it's down to your hardware. The software is full but if your system hasn't got the facility it won't work :(

No sorry , looks like you have the original Smeg console, the newest firmware is in the conversation below.
What if I couldn't see any version number in the SMEG? In the versions display info all are blank except the id for maps...
I successfully completed the usb - computer progress. But when I go to the car there is no update warning text. There is only text which tells there is no music in the usb. I tried 2 different update but I could not fix it. Help me pls
Hi this cod be down to the USB stick your using, some are not compatible, I used a generic USB which seemed to be fine

Hi , sorry for the late reply I'm not sure if you can install mirrorlink, I can't on the Smeg+ , I think it's a hardware requirement on the player, I'll have a look on the forum and see what they say :)

Paul, I have exactly the same version (and car) as you. My unit has recently started randomly rebooting and so want to try an upgrade. Did you try doing this ?

It has DAB radio, but no GPS that I know of.

Hola, tengo un Peugeot 208 de 2014 y la radio se congela varias veces, no se puede tocar nada, ni bajar el volumen ni cambiar de radio, recientemente se volvió a congelar y la radio seguía funcionando incluso sin la llave, actualizar el software solucionaría estos problemas?

Hi, you probably have the Smeg+ console the latest version of the firmware is 5.42.B.R4 , the link for the firmware is in the description above, it just has bug fixes and better compatibility, if you have no issues you might want to keep the version you have :) it's up to you, hope that helps 👍

Sorry for such a late reply, , I tried with mine and flashed it with latest firmware from the GT Line with all the bells n whistles on but it never showed up, it must be a hardware add-on , I think the only way it to get another unit 🙄
Hi what does the update actually do I have the 2015 208 not sure on the smeg model but it doesn’t have Apple car play or update any of my iPhone contacts to the system, if possible can the update give me car play
Millie hi, I think the car play is a hardware issue, the software upgrade probably won’t help, like me I upgraded hoping to get extra features but unless you have a capable player, you just get newer bug free software.

Hi, it's the full update from the GT model , but unless you already have the ability to use GPS etc it won't give you it , sorry I was hoping the same thing :/ just gives you the latest firmware with bug fixes etc
Hi, my console keeps boot looping, I followed the instructions on the video. Inserted the pendrive and nothing - Just says no music files located. Is there anything I am missing?

I recently got a 2013 208 GTi .
The version I have is Smeg 3.15 Br1 .
Is there any point in updating it .
There's only one theme I can choose which is blue ,or aquara I think it's called .
Be great to hear back on any information or help as I don't want to just buy a new radio I like original.
Hi, not really to be honest lol, this one has a red theme (well it is on mine), it wont give you any extra features unless your hardware has it built in :) The only thing i would say it might have a full bug fixes etc.

Hey, sorry I tried my 208 as well , it will only upgrade what you have, if you haven't got it already, you won't get it, I think it's down to the hardware you have :/

Hello. I have a 208 with a SMEG 3.0.J.R7 and i want to update it to 3.21.A.R1 but when I insert the USB flash it sais "Disc cannot be read". Do you have any solution for this problem? Same thing when I want to update the maps. Thanks
Hi, it might be the type of USB drive your using , and make sure it's been formatted to fat 32.
@@sp8rk it is an 8GB USB 2.0 simple flash drive, it is a Kingston. I'm sure it is formated fat32. I tried with 2 different flash drives, same problem.
I did as described and touch screen just says no music found.....
Hi you might need to try another usb drive, as some just don't work.

Hi, on the forums they recommended to keep the motor running, but I'm pretty sure I did it with the ignition on, maybe play safe and keep it running, only takes 5 - 10 mins 👍

Hi Craig, it all depends what version you have, I have a 63 plate and I'm running the Smeg+ , if you can find out what software version you have, you can find out what player you have, I'm gonna take a guess and say the 1st Smeg not the Smeg+, so you might be running 3. Something, go into the settings and find the firmware revision. :) , Also if you check out some of the other posts below , it might help :)

I'm having an issue with my SMEG rebooting every few minutes, My version is showing as smeg6.1.D.R19 with a date of 23/11/25. Which firmware do I upgrade to?
Hi, you have a lot newer player than me, all I can suggest is to sign up to the forum in my description below the video, the date looks crazy to me on your version, I'm hoping someone can help you on there :) , you might just need to reflash the firmware and you'll be ok :)

Thanks for this mate, but when I put the USB in the car it just says no music files and wont progress. I have formatted the stick to FAT 32 Any ideas??
Hi, I think most of the time it's either the type of USB stick or it's in a folder, when it should be just on the stick ( if you know what I mean) :/
Hey, if you haven’t resolved this try keeping only the update folder on the root of the usb no other folders etc and then renaming the folder name to smeg_lv2_upg

I think you have the Smeg+iv2 , not got one of those , but if you join up on the forum on the description you will find the updated firmware for your car entertainment system. I should imagine the update will work the same as us lowly Smeg+ owners 😉 good luck!!

I think it's a hardware issue, I updated mine but without the added hardware in the unit, you won't get the feature , I also haven't got it 🙄

try different usb sticks. Also it depends on previous firware, some are not compatible. This can be tricky.

Hi Sophie, sorry you have the Previous player, this is just for the SMEG+ , normally these updates are just bug fixes and slight improvements, it’s the hardware that makes the difference , it won’t give you more than you already have :(

This is only for Smeg+ , if you have the earlier Smeg player it's different firmware, check out the forum in the link, you should find the one you need, and should be the same procedure :)

the upgrade does absolutely nothing. Nothing changes, you have no satnav options like other videos show. You have no app of net access like other videos show.
Your correct, unless your hardware supports these options all you get is bug fixes.

@ I think the only way is to talk to your dealer, I have seen them for sale on eBay, but you would need to know what your doing, also the dealer could be very expensive.. ask your dealer, see what it costs :) good luck...

@MrHeavenheart hi, I have a 2015 model and it worked fine for me, but it's hardware dependant for the mirror link etc, which I have not :( , the firmware I have on the link is the gt line version with all features ( I used it but no other features showed up ).

I think so, not seen a new one as they have moved on to newer hardware , I think all the bugs have been ironed out.
