I love Penny, she's actually amazing. To be completely honest with you, I'm only watching this bs of a """gaming""" event because Penny is here. I don't give a single frick about corporate overlords once again telling me, and all of us, what soulless garbage AAA money-sucking "games" we should play, and we even have to watch said "games" be "nominated". It's all such made up bs, from top to bottom. This entire show is so constantly fake, sterilized and disingenuous, and it's so filled with people that have definitely almost never touched a controller, that I'm just left thinking, how people can go through 99% of this bs show without getting nauseated is beyond me. I swear most corporations suck the life out of everything they touch.

i literally still can't believe psychonauts 2 didn't got a SINGLE award. like, its literally beyond absurd and beyond if you think its good or not, the INSANE amount of work and detail that went into that game is recognizable by anyone.
I was surprised by two things: Pyschonauts with no awards and Life is Strange getting an award.
At least this year's show was better than last year's.

I think it's really funny that I made a timeline project for the sonic game franchise for one of my high school classes literally a week before the game awards and then had to present it the day after the awards. I hypothesized that the failure of Sonic Boom and then Sonic Forces would force the Sega team to revert back into old formula in order to play it safe for a long while. I had to go up there and tell everyone that I was so horribly wrong. And I was happy to do so.
