And now of all times they're planning to bring back Rayman, almost as if it only happens after over 10 years because they're being held at gunpoint about the company's future. I'm surprised this wasn't touched on here because the disbanding of the team behind the new Prince of Persia (the one good game ubisoft has done this year) for the new Rayman game, as well as people leaving that don't want to work with Michel Ancel again is definitely a rabbit hole on its own.
@KwadDamyj It's the Metroidvania one that released in January this year, which was by the same devs as most of the Rayman games. That team was disbanded after the game didn't meet Ubisoft's expectations like usual (a direct sequel that was planned was already cancelled now). This is bad because the game received very good reception and just showed that company doesn't care much for games that are more original and sell well over a longer period of time instead of in the first few weeks. Some of that team are now supposed to work with Ancel on the new possible Rayman project, but some already quitted for not wanting to work with him. He's in support of more original games and passion projects (even that cancelled sequel), but apparently to the point where he expects everyone to overwork themselves and quickly changes his own directions. It's one of the supposed reasons why he left the company originally after the development hell that is Beyond Good & Evil 2, a game where he had the same position as he now has for the Rayman project. But he got still brought back for being Rayman's creator, despite everyone giving him a bad reputation without much proof and pretty much implying he wouldn't fit into modern Ubisoft (not necessarily a bad thing tbh). This is sad to see because in the past before Ubisoft went downhill, he was pretty much seen as a french Shigeru Miyamoto who also put Ubisoft on the table in the gaming industry.
A few months back, I saw a trailer for a new indie game coming out of France that really impressed me. Gathered all the info I could on the game and the studio and surprise surprise, there's former Ubisoft staff involved. Seems like a big part of the actually good staff at Ubisoft went to that studio (Sandfall Interactive).
If i recall in regards to Hyper Scape One of it's issues(besides being a Ubisoft game in general) is that the game has a pretty high skill floor and somewhat steep learning curve for new players especially compared to the likes of PUBG and Fortnite. Because of that, the game ended up having a hard time garnering new players into the game and on top of that, the game isn't promoted all to well. The only time i heard about the game is during its Launch and its Closure, barely anything else when the game was still Live.
@2:13 - Thats actually a good way to describe the AAA market as a whole for me. Theres a body but theres no soul left in them. The only one I have loose hopes for is GTAVI, and even thats generous at best.

Would likely be the same thing with DBZ if I wasn't too broke to afford it.
Assassins Creed will always be one of my favourite franchises, but I fear that we won't get anything else after shadows. Maybe some competent company will be able to pick up the IP if they go bankrupt, but I don't dare to hope.

About the Japanese investigation of AC: Shadows: I think there were exactly one right-wing fraction of government and one particular politician that wanted to get some noise about it and that's it
9:43 - China has countless shell companies across the world buying whatever they deem worth it. And when it comes to governments approving this kind of transaction, it is always about money.
what's funny is that western corporate is still missing the correct play: invest in technology that figures out how to make the product itself an NFT of sorts. you buy a game? it's an NFT that can be resold with 'royalties' but also can't be copied, shared, or erased by the publisher at a later date if entertainment companies had any sort of sense, they would stop trying to microtransaction everything to shit and start trying to improve the value of the primary transaction
I remember seeing hyper scape about 2 times and though that this would be awesome game to play when will it releases, forgot it, and now were here, sad :(
"You just don't get it" Yeah, I don't. Because every time I ask for clarification on how NFTs are "the future", those clowns never give me a straight answer. Almost as if there isn't a straight answer in the first place. No wonder NFTs are dead.
Majority of people do not even have confidence in crypto in general. Many of us see it as a passing fad, and I personally haven't seen any evidence to convince me otherwise. The fact that Ubisoft still hasn't figured this out is laughable. Someone really needs to fire their social R&D staff.
I dunno man, video started strong but then you got to Hyperscape at around 3:30. The fake laughing and the "2 years" that you emphasized over and over again. That makes the game actually sound better than it was. Most of the Battle Royals that launched didn't even last that long, died in less than a year. Then you talk about how you didn't even know it existed, and how we probably never heard of it either. Yeah, I heard of it. Lots of people did. Many people tried it. I'm not defending the game, I tried it and didn't like it at all. But this whole sequence, the way you phrased it, just sounds like you don't know what you are talking about.

Wow. They just made Warhammer, but you don't actually have the figurines. Absolutely appalling.
If i recall in regards to Hyper Scape
One of it's issues(besides being a Ubisoft game in general) is that the game has a pretty high skill floor and somewhat steep learning curve for new players especially compared to the likes of PUBG and Fortnite.
Because of that, the game ended up having a hard time garnering new players into the game and on top of that, the game isn't promoted all to well. The only time i heard about the game is during its Launch and its Closure, barely anything else when the game was still Live.
3:02 "Yeah that's Ubisoft." So simple, yet so true. Solid video essay.
@2:13 - Thats actually a good way to describe the AAA market as a whole for me. Theres a body but theres no soul left in them. The only one I have loose hopes for is GTAVI, and even thats generous at best.
Sparking zero for me has a soul, and it's what i needed from a game for a long time.
@iuze814 Happy to hear that! I'm not a massive Dragon Ball fan myself but it looks good and everyone is having a great time with it.
@@NGU14 Me neither, but even I am tempted to play it outta principle and because the gameplay looks fire! Sorta like how Gensou Skydrift, Gensokyo Defenders, Luna Nights, etc., still managed to attract me despite not being much of a touhou fan and kinda makes me wanna play the source material.
Idk when it happned, but I've started to really look forward to Mujin videos. His commentary, the accuracy of investigation, and the script really showcase a talent for the craft. No, this isnt a chatGPT or bot message lol
This is just that "Am I out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong" Simpson's meme but with gamers and NFTs lol
Ubisoft is the Internet Explorer of companies. Slow to realise other companies have moved on to better brighter things.
OMG I do not want to see miniatures being destroyed. I wonder if they have ever heard of ppl collecting them.
Not a positive feeling seeing miniatures break!
A new mujin video yass
Was waiting for this video drop. Just like the drop in Ubisoft’s stock!
That "gameplay" looked like a darkest dungeon mod... the hell was that?
wow on my birthday xD. thanks for another great video mujin!
happy birthday, i hope your cake isnt an nft 🙏
@ me too 😔
@spacebug5686 😂😂
lasting 2 years is ALOT more than OTHER games can say, concord for example got fucking taken down AFTER A WEEK
that 60 dollars for an nft? you can buy 2 to 20 games on a steam sale instead.
Classic ubisoft move.
Love it when game executives are losing money 🤣🤣🤣
Feel bad for the employees tho, they definitely gonna be fired so the executives, CEO can keep their salary untouched
As if they could crack into Games Workshop's market share with digital figures.
Play Warhammer and actually own the expensive miniatures.
And they can be customized! And it's fun!
Ubisoft is also removing Dx11 from rainbow six siege in the next season so players are forced to play Dx12 and since really many pcs dont support the newest version of it they are forced to just uninstall the game theyve paid for 🤔
The assassin's creed point is staggeringly overblown.
ONE japanese politician wanted it investigated, and there was no "fan outrage" in Japan.
63 thousand dollars for a figurine...only slightly more expensive than Warhammer 40k models.
Mindset of Ubislop
- Make "game" (i couldn't recall the last time they make "game") for no one
- Mad at their "customer"
- Wondering why they flop
- Still Mad at their "customer"
- Screw them we just go chinese then
- Also sprinkle some NFT and late trend for extra sauce
Aw yis! Mujin video! Thank you, boss.
I got comfortable not owning their games, I think they should get comfortable not owning their company🤷🏼♂
Bro even me as an cryptocurrency traders and blockchain users for years, Me myself HATED NFTs, Other than a badge for a project, they are USELESS and mean nothing in it.
16:46 That joker laugh bro
Man I could do a better fight with toy soldiers
2024 is about to have a worse ending than ever and this is just one of them
It'a believed the reason Mirage originally got an AO rating was because it was originally going to have them.
Self-Note: *_SEVERE_** MISOPHONIC TRIGGER!* *_SKIP OUTRO:_** **19:40** ---------- END.*
It's been a while since I didn't heard about Not Functional Testicles
Great video as always, Mujin, thank you for updating us on all the stuff going on. Please take care of yourself!
Also I’m so sorry but all through this video I kept thinking of Mujin’s Vtuber model holding one of the NFT from the video over a flame, just like Furina in that one trailer 😭
It was funny tot Buick abt tho, I wish I could see an art of it lol.
The devs behaving like this is frankly embarrassing, I feel so bad for the employees. Also that ending “logo” of Ubisoft was gold, hats off to however made that totally accurate and not-at-all-unofficial logo!
Again, great video! Mujin’s cackling during the reveal of the gameplay was the highlight tbh.
Ubisoft is basically the equivalent of a Kick streamer of the video game industry at this point.
It’s like the devs are low-key rescuing us from their own management's bad ideas by showing up late to trends
1:07 hold up now 🤨
wat
"Ubisoft is like your one friend who's late to the party by 3 hours every time, so you have to say that the party is 3 hours earlier."
Video starts at 14:30
Seriously.
bump for the algo
idk what it is about mujin's laugh and how he speaks but its so different from other youtubers and its so good
The only Ubisoft game I *really love* is
*Just Dance* That shit was my childhood and I played every single version of it.
Can Ubisoft go out of business already please?
About the Japanese investigation of AC: Shadows: I think there were exactly one right-wing fraction of government and one particular politician that wanted to get some noise about it and that's it
9:43 - China has countless shell companies across the world buying whatever they deem worth it. And when it comes to governments approving this kind of transaction, it is always about money.
Notification squad
what's funny is that western corporate is still missing the correct play:
invest in technology that figures out how to make the product itself an NFT of sorts. you buy a game? it's an NFT that can be resold with 'royalties' but also can't be copied, shared, or erased by the publisher at a later date
if entertainment companies had any sort of sense, they would stop trying to microtransaction everything to shit and start trying to improve the value of the primary transaction
ai is not the future
Ubisoft - the 'gift' that just keeps on giving....
Just discovered your channel, great commentary, got a new sub ✌
H1Z1 MENTIONED RAAAHHHH
It's not that the trailer has such a big dislike to like ratio, it's that both numbers are so small. Basically no one watched it.
What a weird upload time
When you compiled their failures into 1 video like this i actually felt the pain which isn't surprising. RIP Ubisoft
ubislop gonna flop and go bankrupt with assasin screed shadows
I remember seeing hyper scape about 2 times and though that this would be awesome game to play when will it releases, forgot it, and now were here, sad :(
"You just don't get it"
Yeah, I don't. Because every time I ask for clarification on how NFTs are "the future", those clowns never give me a straight answer. Almost as if there isn't a straight answer in the first place. No wonder NFTs are dead.
14:09 GOG. Small game selection and you need space, but you own the copy.
13:50 ermm... CS skins... are NFT... with no blockchain... at least, its protected by Valve...
I'm not a fan of Ubisoft. I think the last game they made I liked was... oh god, I just looked through their catalog, and I never liked their games...
UbiSLOP!
Ubisoft doesn’t realize how vindictive gamers are. You piss us off we aren’t buying your games
Majority of people do not even have confidence in crypto in general. Many of us see it as a passing fad, and I personally haven't seen any evidence to convince me otherwise.
The fact that Ubisoft still hasn't figured this out is laughable. Someone really needs to fire their social R&D staff.
"The ship has stamina"
What, am I using my own damn mouth to blow wind??
Agreed
