I keep my life simple in saying no to leaving the house after 7 pm at the Moment to prioritize Sleep and rest during pregnancy.. i feel it just overwhelmes me every time I‘m out and about after it‘s dark outside😂

I was listening to the announcements at my church this Sunday and just blown away by all the programs they offer. The culture of busyness is everywhere. And i do struggle with guilt that we are opting out and living a simpler life. Thank you for the sweet, gentle reminders ❤️

@AM-bm2xw I definitely agree over the guilt of opting out. I am constantly being confronted when I refuse a request to go somewhere or do something. Why don’t I holiday? Why don’t I go out for spa days? Why don’t I treat myself more? Fact is, I am most happy when I’m home. Pottering in the garden or walking down the beach. I gave up on the whole superficial beauty thing years ago. My hair is natural. Nails are natural. I still do a pedicure. I still do my hair. I haven’t let myself go. I just use oil now on my face and hair. All the products have gone. People still insist on buying them for me. I’m grateful…and so is my local food bank! I hand them in there and ask them to give them to a mum who needs a boost. That makes me happy. People do not seem to understand people like us. They want to change us constantly. It can be exhausting.😢

My church offers a lot too but what I do like about that is we can go to what the Lord is leading us to go to for our own spiritual growth and leave the other programs for those who need them. Of about twenty things I could take part in, I only do one! Just my two cents!
      Love this channel

Maybe it’s why many of us can’t hear God speak… He spoke soo much to people in the older days. If He’s the same, today and forever, then what’s changed? Maybe, the answer, is “us”.

I love your title: extreme simplicity. That gives me so much peace. I recently resigned by exec level corp job to continue in my coaching business. I needed extreme simplicity. I keep my routines and food and exercises and clothing as simple as possible. Work on one thing a day. No complex exercise routines. Just everything as basic and simple and straightforward as possible. Thank you for your amazing content! 💛

YES! Thank you. I have told people that minimalism is about keeping what is essential to me, but then non-minimalists argue with me that minimalism is about not owning anything, and essentialism is separate. I keep stating that they work hand in hand together. Beautiful video. Keep it up.

I moved into the minimalism space about 2010 and haven't looked back. Less is truly best for me. It's calmer and quieter. Reducing how much stuff I had, the clothes in my closet, my books down to a curated, high value few - all were steps I took that improved my quality of life bit by bit.
The biggest step I took though was just 2 years ago when I gave up owning a car. When I look at the pace of my life now, how authentic I am, how happy I am, how peaceful and relaxed I am, I know this was the biggest change that I made and had the highest pay-off.
The quality of my life experiences increased when I gave up owning a car. The convenience of owning a car and having access to every person who extends an invite, every excursion that is happening all over the city, and every event diminishes the value of attending all of them. By making access less convenient, I have higher quality friends and higher value experiences.

I was burned out as a licensed therapist. I stopped saying yes to everyone and everything and just stopped. I moved from California to North Carolina in June and live simply and spend time with my grandkids. I try to live mindfully and prayerfully. We have five kids all but one are out of the house daycare school and apprenticeship by 9. I was used to hustling and rushing and being productive for almost two centuries and it started with our fourth child I just didn’t want to do it anymore. Now I prioritize my mental health by living in the present moment enjoying a walk wirh the dog time with my last baby then a hot cup of coffee with my husband when we get home before a spurt of productivity during the first nap and tell you what I get more done now than I seemed when my days where filled with rushing worrying and „keeping up“. My children are calmer and happier and when life does get crazy or sends a curve ball we all manage as a family and help each other out. ❤ slow living for the win 🥇

I’m in the slow early stages and lately I’ve just been “letting go of the rest” I’m trying to use my favorite and best versions of things I have and trying to let go of the rest. Once I use up the best I move to the second best until I can have less and have only my favorites. It’s not extreme it’s not fast but it’s working for me.

I used to feel so pressured to buy and do all the things during holiday seasons, so much so that I begin to dread them. Now, we do what we can with what we have, and if our house doesn't look like a Christmas wonderland or we don't hit up all the festivals, that's ok! We still can have a meaningful time together baking, watching a holiday movie, or simply coloring a themed printable.

Hi, I a mom to four. I slowly started a simple living/minimalist lifestyle when I had my 2nd baby...but I lacked some support at the start and became discouraged. Now, more recently my hubby has come around in his thinking and it has become a family project to be more intentional, get rid of excessive stuff, and say no. I am encouraged by your videos, thank you!
We are working on detoxing from technology (or that is our next step in January). We have been de-cluttering physical stuff, and working on the "in the one in/one out" rule.

Glorious and true!!I’ve been working on this for a long time. When you have a large family, it’s so easy to have a lot of stuff even when it’s just essential stuff. We just had our first huge snow today in Western Colorado and it was so fun to see the excitement and get out the snow gear. We lit the fire played Colorado monopoly for five hours straight, used the sand toys for snow play, threw snowballs you know the whole bit was so wonderful. Still I was definitely feeling a bit visually overstimulated by the coats and hats and gloves for 12 people, but I have found that extra is a bit necessary because they do get wet or muddy when they go outside and then it’s nice to have a back up to go out again… this is the fun part of having all four seasons I suppose. My friend who moved to Hawaii was so thrilled to donate all of her winter gear.lol😅 flip flops for the win 🏆

I am struggling with saying No, especially with my family - my mum, my mother-in-law, they are both crazy about seeing my kids/their grandkids...after years it´s overwhelming to devote them 2 days every week...after saying it´s gonna be every other week my mum started hating me, not talking to me... Please tell me, do you do less family gathering too? How often is it normal? Was it fair from me to cut them off to see them less often? I feel terrible and relieved at the same time.

There is no way you can have every room, every closet, every table or windowsill surface covered with knickknacks and bric-a-brac and then say with a straight face, every bit of this is important to me.
Nope: that’s called hoarding. Hanging onto stuff your mind won’t let you discard because Grandma Nice owned it in 1906 or whatever.
When you take a firm look at things and realize what you are using, what really holds value for you as when needed, you will discover you only needed this much and not a warehouse full of things, like a carpet of leaves in a forest all blended in like sludge.

When you embark on a simpler lifestyle, don't expect approval. That's the really hard part! Most everyone will fail to understand and perhaps even "feel sorry" for you. And in our current system of unbridled consumption where owning the next thing is the norm, you may even have a great deal of difficulty convincing yourself.
In truth, neither excess consumption nor deprivation typically brings happiness. Unfortunately, and as is most often the case, you'll most likely know the answer when it's too late. I was your age yesterday and I'm in my 80's.

@ true her continue has value and would appear to be of honest intent, but the less is more and value yourself over money lesson ….then does not alone with a self help course for $300-$400. Many other with the same life values have channels on RUclips or other platforms, but they are not selling over price courses. My point is her professed core values do no t aline with an overpriced product. Yes, girl can make a living ( we all do) , but her “mission statement” does not equal her actions. Do as you will, follow who you will…..but she is no different from those selling everything else in life she then spouts the opposite….. does not vibe
