Both are beautiful builds. As a Ford guy myself, I'm in love. My older brother and his partner had a 64 Plymouth Max Wedge they bought in late 66 from Blair's Speedshop in Pasadena California. They raced it for a couple of years. Also factory made to compete in Super Stock Class like the Fairlane Thunderbolts, it too had its "stock" exhaust hanging under it. He craahed it in 1968 in the lights at Lions Drag Strip when the left outer tierod end popped off the ball. From the right lane the car made a sudden hard left turn and backed into the left guard rail still within the lights and bounced off. Then the Camaro with a 427 centerpunched his right door and they tumbled down the shutoff. Totalled both cars. Time slip said 11.27 @ 127mph.
WoW I wonder if there's any footage of that I hope he didnt give up on Drag Racing
@@WoodysScaleModelGarage Well after the crash he bought a 55 Chevy Belair post to replace the Mopar. Put in a 65 Vette 327 with an Edelbrock C4B and a 750 Double Pumper Holley. 4.56 rear gears. Vette Rally wheels. As it was it would carry the front wheels through 3rd gear. He bought slapper bars, fender well headers, a locker diff, 10" slicks. But then...he got drafted. Quit his college classes and his job. Moved out of his apartment. Just before time to report, got a letter canceling his draft. Try to get back into life. 2 weeks later got drafted AGAIN. So the night before due to report, Thanksgiving 69, after dinner with the family, he went and enlisted. 3 years in Germany instead of 2 years in 'Nam. After that, back to college, got married, kids, etc. His 55 still sits in his garage waiting. The headers and other parts in the trunk. His 1st wife's boyfriend stole the heads and intake just before he filed for divorce. I gave him a Ford 9" with 4.10s for it about 30 years ago. So it needs some parts and work. Silver/blue metallic paint from the 60s is still OK. Needs to be buffed. Interior is in good shape, though mostly stock. Could use disc brakes and a roll bar and fresh tires. And a fire under his shorts...
Another couple comments on this.
1st: I agree that the Thunderbolt kit has a crappy teardrop. Otherwise good kit. But it's supposed to be s "teardrop". Not a "diamonddrop". Do you sell those teardrops?
2nd: I noticed that nearly ALL of the comments are from content creators. And I'm subbed to most all of them.
😎
Cool.
I'm diggin the builds there Woodman. I need to get one of those kits.
Thanks zippy
