    Hi, Jon.
Another good video. Informative and to the point. So important to do inventory especially the way eBay treats our stock sometimes. I like the way you do it. I'm going to incorporate that into my process as well. A couple of things to add, if I do find something that's not on my shelves, I do not kill the listing as well, but what I do is specify quantity zero, at least temporarily so that if it is a lost item or was sold I don't have to have a problem if someone wants to buy it later. Once I find it, I go back and update the quantity.
Also I think it's important to do inventory from the other end, meaning, go through all the listings in your store, one by one, and see if you, in fact, have the items on the shelf, because many times eBay will relist an item that you already sold (as you know) and you don't want to have that problem of not being able to fulfill an order you do not have because you sold it already.
Just want you to know that I did take your advice a while back and I go into my "ending soonest" listings on a daily basis, kill some of the older listings, sell similar and modify them accordingly. This does keep your inventory fresh, flushes out any mistakes you made and picks up some of the problems that a full-blown inventory would do automatically. Plus I get the benefit of having 10 -20 extra 'new' listings each day in addition to the actual new listings that I put up.. I think it helps.
    Thanks for the content.
    Mike

I,too, will notice items occasionally fall off listing. I don’t think any fall off is part of an algorithm. I think it’s do to some error in the process.

I believe the best way to avoid headaches while reselling is to avoid selling on Ebay at all costs. Out of nowhere this week, like thousands of others complaining about it, Ebay told me in order to get paid I had to upload my drivers license. That's fine, I uploaded it 3 days ago and they still haven't bothered to look at it. I pay them over 40k a year in fees, and they can't take a moment of their time to verify my information they requested? I called them and was very happy to explain that until they remove that hold off my account pending my drivers license verification, I will not be shipping any of the 100+ orders I have to ship. I have no problems pulling 500k worth of inventory and moving it to Ebay's competitors if that's how they want it. Keep in mine that I have a 99.7% feedback rating, my metrics are above average, and I have 0 defects.

the sad news is, your 100 items means nothing to eBay

    • @stevenhaffley9852
      @stevenhaffley9852 2 года назад +1

@@HustleMagnets It's 18,000 items, but the feeling is mutual, with so many listing tools out there that back your inventory up, it's easy to cross list to a competitors website with the click of a button. Ebay is going to realize someday, they can't appease the shareholders if nobody is selling anything on ebay. They can cancel as many integrations as they want like they just did with spotify, the only thing that's going to keep people from leaving is if they learn how to treat sellers fairly.

Seems like most eBay channels are basically people bragging how well they did. How much they made, or a huge mistake they can solve. Rather than sharing the good the bad and the ugly with some tips from big to small. I'm only like 7 months into this. I feel like if I were years into it I'd still have more to learn. So its nice to be here feeling like I'm watching a peer rather than a competitor shown how perfect they are.

We are all in this together. With soooo many items to list I don't see how I would look at everyone as a competitor. Thank you for watching the channel and being a part of it all.

Whenever I find an inconsistency that needs to be addressed I up my price by $900. Gives me a chance to investigate further or fix an issue without likelihood of buyer involvement. Then I can sort by price when I have time and fix all my $900 items.

I think I may have dragged a folder of images(big listing whole folder for one) into my 'listed' folder as well. Images on my HDD. Just found it while watching this video so that could be one way we are making the mistake.

I woke up this morning swearing I wasn't listing another thing until I did my first inventory.
So I have about 100 items cross listed across 3 platforms (40 on eBay) and I'm just going by memory. Just a room with the items piled in boxes. I have no clue how to even make an inventory system or even a spreadsheet! Time to watch some videos and teach myself though bc this is not working. I sold one item twice already bc I forgot to delete it. I bought stick on labels, 4 huge totes with wheels, 3 3 drawer rolling cart for the lipstick/makeup.
Any tips much appreciated, like what you wish you had changed with your first inventory system?

Use the sku area in your eBay listing to not only tell you where the item is (“bin A” for example) but also to show what other sites the item is listed on. This way when it sells on eBay you go to those sites and delete these listings. This is why I wait 30 days before cross listings on eBay to lessen the chance of double selling an item. Hope this gives you some ideas.

I’m still looking for a solution to the problem of having items not selling and being automatically relisted. with hundreds or thousands of listings I’ll find items on my shelves that haven’t sold in months. I formerly used the 30 day auction ending to re-evaluate the listing and make adjustments that will help it sell. Since the required auto relist I’m looking for a way to keep track of items that aren’t selling. Any solution??

How do you prevent items from sitting on the shelves unsold with the automatic relist? I used to use the 30 day listing and when an item didn’t sell I’d make changes to the price or title. Now with automatic relist I have no way to do so. Any advice?

In some cases you may be improving a listing for an item that is not there. If I am finding 20+ items with a 500 item store, I can only imagine how many of these you have with 24k items.

According to the metrics, before I upped the promoted listings advanced from $10 - $50 a day, I had only sold 2 items from using this process. I would be very unhappy about spending $10 a day to have sold 2 items additional in 3 weeks.
