Surprised you saw so few people. Did that trail to the lake a couple months ago and it was PACKED! Looks like you had fun though!
I've done Hermann Lake a few times ...last time probably 3 years ago and 3/4 way up was snow and think Lake was iced over...also done Butler Gulch though many years ago think Butler had an abandoned mine
Did this hike at end of a June when there was still quite a bit of snow left. Didn’t see a soul after the lake.
Citadel is still on my list. From what I read all routes to Citadel require some bushwhack, with the one from Dry Gulch being the easiest
We could see a trail from Herman Gulch that went up to the Citadel. That didnt look too bad. Looks pretty crazy up at the top.

Nick, with Alltrails you cannot get wrong, are you using it? download the map then you have it no matter the signal or not...
I dont use it. Cotrex is also really accurate. I just try to read the land off the isobars on the GPS. I dont want to make it too easy. Lol
That was a beautiful summit, picture postcard! As you were showing it I was thinking the same thing you could see all of Colorado!
Nick - I asked you about Pettingell Peak a couple of videos ago, and you said it was on your bucket list. Thanks for getting around to hiking it. Incredible hike. I’ve done Herman Gulch several times and will continue to hike it, but you’ve convinced me that Pettingell Peak is not for me. Looking forward to the next one.
