- A BAD START to our Northern Ireland Trip
Country number 17 for our full-time travelling family ☺️ and this time, it's one that's a little closer to home!
We literally got straight off the ferry and straight into a spot of trouble! But other than that little mishap, our first impressions of Northern Ireland are bloody brilliant!
A big thanks to P&O Ferries for sponsoring this week's RUclips Video ⛴️

There's so many youtubers here in N'Ireland right now. People normally forget about looking around N'Ireland and just go straight to the Wild Atlantic Way! There are so many beautiful places, so enjoy and stay a while. 😉
Thankyou, loving it so far!
I would suggest rather than attaching to the collar get a harness you can also attach a harness to a hard point in the cab of the lorry much safer for the dog in an emergency stop.
Yes, a harness prevents them from injuring their trachea by not putting pressure on them when they pull hard against the lead. We had a dog who had difficulty with a collapsed trachea😕
100% agree
I suggested this weeks ago please please get a harness.😢
We have a harness. Just typically rushed out and forgot it on this walk.
Nice video. Shame that this week's sponsors are an appalling company that treats it workers like dirt, pays virtually nothing, and then makes them redundant without notice and with a total disregard to the laws about redundancy.
Sounds like most companies tbh
@@wolveshat854 Not really. P&O are up there amongst the worst. Just read about what the company has done to its staff.
Sygic GPS
Truck & Caravan Navigation
I used to use this trucking.
It didn't let me down and it's ap for your phone.
I believe this video is about a motor homing tour to Ireland, not a sour grapes whinge about P&O, it happened forget about it now, and yes I was affected by it. Ferry companies are all the same, that's why they are registered in ports of convenience.
@@alanchandler254 If you your view is that everyone should just forget about it, sweep it under the carpet, pretend that P&O isn't a prolific abuser of its workforce, then you are either stupid or you are a liar.
To check the height of your truck. If you see either an AA or RAC recovery truck ask the driver to measure your truck. We all carry height sticks on board. The alternative is if you see a large car transport with several decks. They also carry height sticks due to having variable height loads depending on which vehicles they are carrying. It would only take a minute and it’s much more accurate than trying to do it with a tape measure.
Interesting video of our local village.
I noticed you guys parked up in the morning when I was dropping our boy off at the school across the road. You missed the walk in glenarm forest, which is teeming with red squirrels 👍
As a family we love dobble and exploding kittens. Both family card games. 😊
Me and the misses play Boggle a lot its a great game be good way of teaching the kids new words. We only play 4 letters and above though.
Ohhh we should get that one!
The Muddles is a great little game, our kids love it.
Haven't heard of that, will take a look. Thankyou!!
The game card game is great for family you work together as a team to beat the game 😊
Welcome to Northern Ireland! Hope you all enjoy it here :)
Thankyou so much ❤️
@@Touringwiththekids are you all planning on going down the wild Atlantic way in Ireland any time soon? Or are you staying up in Northern Ireland for the next while? Only asking cause I'm heading off to Galway in August and it'd be cool to meet you guys. Hope you don't mind me asking and I appreciate it if you want to keep your plans private.
Good video guys, Ireland looks lovely 💚safe travels ✌
Be carful on 12th July you will have loads of band parades it will be impossible to go anywhere
That aged well. I drove various places in both Antrim & Down on 12th. Never saw a parade.
@@hughmarcus1weird the main ones are Belfast Dunmurry Armagh and somewhere else I forgot
We like Dobble as a family game, nice and small to fit in the lorry😀
We have that too, that's good fun. Our youngest is a big fan
Welcome two northern Ireland make sure and stop off around castlerock downhill and the benone area yous will enjoy it with the kids and benone is the largest beach in northern Ireland.enjoy your stay maybe see yous about
Jimmy
I had to get out of the motorhome in Carcasonne when we ended up on the way to a low bridge. Really frightening isn't it? Well done you did that reverse easily.I love that the kids like the adventures and aren't looking at phones all the time. Well done you two.
Thanks Pamela! Carcasonne is gorgeous isn't it, hope you enjoyed visiting, apart from the manuevering of the motorhome 🙈
DOBBLE is an absolute must in our van, it’s easy to play and the kids love it. Enjoy your time in Island.
Thankyou! Our kids love that one too and doesn't take up much space which is a bonus x
Enjoying your content guys…you mentioned pup Rosie 4 mth old… a heads up, walking puppies for too long can harm their joints…around 20 mins 2x day n bathing time can be super scary for them and frighten them for life…with my two i make sure quiet n calm n take it slow at their speed …sorry if I’m saying what you already know…she is gorgeous lil four paws…take care…happy travelling
What an amazing view.
Have fun over there. I went to Northern Ireland last year and the North and Republic for a month this year. Loved it.
Piper is growing into the loveliest girl :) x I never knew Northern Ireland was so beautiful, thanks for inspiring me.
Try a harness on Rosie. My dog was a nightmare on the lead for years, and then I bought a harness. It changed her overnight! Enjoy your travels. Week 7 of not being a full time traveller is tough! x
lovely comment, thank you! We have a harness for Rosie, but typically forgot that day. Although she is still very 'pully' on that. Seems to be much better on 1-1 walks, but when it's all of us, she gets very excited!
@Touringwiththekids Just a thought, I've always had extendable leads for my dogs and it gives them a little bit more freedom which I found stopped them pulling as much. You can give her as little or as much freedom as you like with those leads. 👍
Nice video. Fun to see the kids enjoying themselves on the walk. Everything looks so beautiful and green there. Would love to explore Ireland some day🌿
So green and gorgeous!
Hey guys, i live in NI for several years, the north Antrim coast is stunning, but please try and get to the County Down coast, like Newcastle, the morne mountains
Thankyou!
Watched quite a few of your videos now. Plan to view more, great to watch….it gleams through the screen how harmonious you all are as a family unit….so heart lifting to see as it’s a rare thing these days… awesome conversion by all of you…like a bungalow on wheels with the cosy touch… 😊
Thanks Patrick, that's really kind of you! Glad you like the conversion and think its cosy too, that's what we were aiming for ☺️
Brilliant! You were in my own backyard as I live about 8 miles from Glenarm. Enjoy the north Antrim coast. Hope you stop off at ballycastle and take the ferry across to Rathlin Island were you might be lucky enough to see the puffins. Wish I could have met up with my favourite RUclipsrs as I love your channel. Enjoy Ireland. The west coast (wild Atlantic way) is actually where you get the wettest weather, so take your coat but the scenery is spectacular! 😎😕
Aww thankyou, lovely comment! Northern Ireland seems like a lovely lovely place. We've found lots off beautiful places that we can't wait to show xx
Hi, wow amazing your in Northern Ireland, but yes you would have got though what it know as the black arch ❤🎉🎉🎉, would love a meet up
Glenariff was glacial
Loved the little fella doing his commentary.. brilliant vid and editing was top notch x
Thanks so much! I love watching their bits back, because usually we just leave them too it, so don't know what they've said until we edit xx
Great vlog again guys some really nice places to go visit in our motorhome thanks for showing us looking forward to the next vlog take care the gowerz Portsmouth xx
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it. xx
we like to play Triominoes and Quirkle
Aw god I wish I knew yous were coming my direction, I live in ballycastle but I’m a hgv driver that does mainland uk work, I’m currently sitting waiting for the boat to Scotland 😆 have a great time
Thankyou 😄
Great job ❤
Thankyou x
I was buzzing when you said northern Ireland 🇮🇪 it's my favourite place to visit , so this was a great vogue and looking forward to the rest . I was well impressed with Jack's commentary on the camera about the waterfalls 😂 . Go jack !! . Also the ailsa Craig also has a nickname called Paddy's mile stone which is tour halfway mark to show yiur over into Ireland. I love seeing it 😂 . Keep up the great work and enjoy The emerald Isle 🇮🇪💚 .
Is it next week yet 😭😭🤭🤣
Thankyou ✌️ Jack did well there didn't he 🤩 Interesting about the nick name for Ailsa Craig, never knew that! xx See you next week. Hope it goes quick
My Mum bless her used to iron everything including undies and even hankies oh and who uses hankerchief any more haha I love watching your journals you are such a happy family Dave Beard
Oh a handkerchief... where would you even buy one these days!
dobble card game kids and grown up love it very additive
Yes!! We have a few versions of that too. Really good fun!
Pass the pigs is a great game too.😁
Ohh I've heard of that one!
Great video people. If your still in northern Ireland there's a great farm shop and cafe called chapmans farm shop in portadown great homemade cakes and fruit and veg and lovely cafe
Thanks for the recommendation! x
Another great video big fan snakes and ladders
Hey guys, I’ve been enjoying your channel especially as I’m also converting a 7.5 tonne to a motor home. Any tips on where to source external doors and windows would be greatly appreciated! Keep up the awesome work 😊
Love the video! I can’t believe you went to Northern Ireland. You should stay at Watertop Farm. Our favourite games are Top Trumps and UNO FLIP! Are you going to to Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge? We went to the rope bridge at 4pm and it was nice and quiet. Can’t wait to see what else you get up to. Love Beth ❤
Ohhh what's UNO flip? xx
@@Touringwiththekidsit is like normal UNO but it has different sides as well with bigger penalties such as +5!! We love it.
Love the content 👌 😊
Thank you 🙌
P&O sacked their staff and employed cheaper workers. Not a company to recommend even if they paid me. ❤✌🏼🙏🏼
We love Dobble. Have you tried it?? Love monopoly Deal
Yes we have a couple of versions of that one x
Welcome to Ireland hopefully you visit the west coast
kind regards Sean
Thanks Sean! Looking forward to exploring
Northern Ireland looks beautiful, I have only been to Southern Island and that is just as beautiful xx
Beautiful country so far! xx
Southern Island? A piecce of information in case you didn't know the most Northern place in Ireland is in Donegal on the North West of Ireland, not in the 6 counties of Northern Ireland.
Just subscribed 👍 . Just watch if you think of hitting Donegal . The roads are tight round the coastal areas . Would be a nightmare with your lorry . looks amazing though , a palace 👌 also spotted your lorry at the end of JP lamoureuxs Video in portrush 😎
Thanks for the heads up, appreciate it 👍
Hi
Saw little ones collar broke today on the video.
Love your videos . When you get the new collar. Please pop a tag on the collar. With your surname, Mobile phone number. Plus say we are travelling and dog is chipped. .its laws to have a tag. Also if little one did run off. They can call you. Not everyone has a scanner on them .
Rosie is lovely.
Ive got 30 disabled dogs. We had one just like her called Thomas Cook. He was born with a hair lip.
Just like in so many ways. Keep up the great work.
Big hugs from wheels to paws uk xx
Thanks for following our adventures! We actually have a harness already, but we typically rushed out that morning and forgot to put in on Rosie. She has a tag and a microchip too ☺️
Lovely to see my area of Dumfries and Galloway on your vlog. Wig Bay is a fantastic stop off. Did you take a run down to Portpatrick? Ailsa Craig is the 'stopper' of a volcano. It's where the granite comes from to make curling stones. You can take a boat trip to it. Ailsa Craig is known locally and affectionately as Paddy's Milestone 😊❤
No not this time, but we have been down to Portpatrick before!
Great video fam 👍💚👀🌷
Thank you 🤗
Guess who, Connect 4, i have fanily in ireland well dublin to be precise. Looks lovely have a lovely time and stay safe xx
Good picks! We have guess who, but not yet connect 4.
@@Touringwiththekids I'm in my 30s they were always games I loved to play as a kid 😃
WARNING ⚠️ if you exploring Northern Ireland all bridges are low so emm maybe be careful and most bridges are 2m more than it says
Thanks for the heads up x
I live in Northern Ireland and I hope that you have a wonderful time here.
It's brilliant!!
Next time you are coming back to Carlisle ,try and ring a firm called SGS glass he is a mobile glass fitter and my be able to help you fit side windows for the kids to look out of or get them made
Good night everyone I love watching your videos of you and your adventures in your motor home I hope you are all well and enjoying your adventures in your motor home please keep your videos going on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm
Thankyou!!! ❤️
Every time you guys board a ferry I always think back to when Rick was shitting it about driving up steps.
Haha that was quite a moment to remember 😂
Another great video
Thanks David, glad you liked it ☺️
I was in glenariff over the weekend doing Duke of ed did you see loads of groups of people with big bags on
Oh no we didn't x this was a little while ago x
Love the footage of N I . Try Tell Me quiz
Thanks x
U went larn first never done that trip ,I always do Belfast
Might be easier to get Rosie a harness. It helps will pulling 👍😍
Thankyou. We do actually have a harness, typically forgot it that day, but she still pulls alot on the harness too 🙈
On that sounds nice salted caramel. Enjoy the chocolate.🐕🐾🐾🇬🇧
It was sooo good!
Great Video, well love playing Hasbro Gaming Pictureka!
Will take a look, thankyou 👏
Exploding kittens is a great family game
Qwixx!!! Really fun game and doesn't take long!. We're from The Netherlands but my mum used to live in Northern Ireland, in Ballycastle!
Not heard of that game, will take a look. Thankyou!!! xx
@@Touringwiththekids Let me know if you can not find it, because if I have a mailing address I can send it! No need to know Dutch language to play!
@willathertoncaninetraining is a great beliver in the slip lead for training. As for my own dog a staffy i use a harness now with a attachment point at the front below her head as to prevent pulling and it works great.
As i see your on this side of the pond i hope you venture into donegal and vist glenveagh national park. In my local village of church hill there is a pub called Wilkins that have facilities for motor homes in its car park and if your ever in the area let us know and we will show you what a real cuppa tastes like lol.
There a large amount of attractions locally i could share with you but the comments isn't the greatest spot lol.
Like tropical world in letterkenny, the activity center, errigal. Beaches the list is endless.
Enjoy your trip fokes.
Hey guys, glad that you all arrived safe and well in Ireland. I am planning a similar journey soon so appreciate your video. Chill, have fun, embrace the culture and people and ignore weirdo comments on here :-)
Thanks Si! Hope you'll find a few ideas of really cool places to visit here for your trip ✌️
Lovely to see Northern Ireland, I've only seen the Republic for work (Dublin Airport to an industrial estate near Naas (pronounced neighs, like what a horse does) shows how green it is, but not much else!)
Have you managed to measure Tori's height yet - I had a spiral bound flip thing when I managed a 6.5 tonne truck so I could change the height it displayed when I changed what was on the back of it ... Even though I'd measured it I was still worried about low bridges, especially when they were not flat (sloped or arched)!
Looking forward to seeing more of Northern Ireland as you tour, are you heading south too?
We have one too, we are definitely going to remeasure just for reassurance and peace of mind!
Hi how are you doing
Family games, please try Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza, you guys will love it. Amazon less than a Tenner ha
Piper has played that with her friends, loved it!
Only 167 days till Christmas 🎄 😂
I live in Ireland
Awesome!!!
Welcome to my home! Enjoy!!
Thank you!!
@@Touringwiththekids would love the opportunity to let my wife see your truck. I built a xlwb Mercedes sprinter during lockdown, and I’ve told her the next build is a bigger one where we can travel and see sunrises and sunsets in beautiful places when we retire. She cannot get her head around what ‘bigger’ means. I need to show her how much space it provides!
Sad people aren't capable to read/comprehend, maps & atlases (use PAPER it lasts), to be able to navigate and explore themselves, using their own knowledge & research!! Using 'sat nav' takes people away from most of the hidden beautiful spots around the world, so living in such an area, I should praise 'sat nav' for their inabilities!! Educate yourself and learn something, get a MAP or an ATLAS, make physical notes and highlight routes to return and remember later. Take care & stay safe. Kia Ora from New Zealand. 💜💜
Just a tip, don't use Google maps in the south, you won't like where it takes you....
I would agree, having toured the south
Measure height and get sticker with height on sun visor
Know your height and buy a truckers atlas , throw the sat nav in the bin , atlas has all the bridge heights in it
No way is the bus as high as you , believe me
A good family educational game is Lubo 77 it involves counting and decision-making
Will have a look at that one, thankyou!
Awwww, Rosie in the shower 😊
It was eventful bless her, she wasn't a fan x
I love ironing! But mostly iron my sheets😂
Hehe, it used to be my Sunday evening routine!
You really need to accurately measure your truck's height. If it's 3.7 and the bridge is 3.8 you would have fitted.
We do have a measurement, but a re-measure is definitely in order ☺️
go south to kerry my friends more fun. 😁😁😁
Tell you what not going to get
Surfshark off u P&O
JJ Houghs Banagher
Are you still in Northern Ireland
Did you need any paperwork for Rosie? I have two Romanian rescue dogs who have passports. and they need rabies jabs but only an eu vet can enter details in the passport, are you considering getting Rosie a passport? Have a great trip love your channel.
We think we'll try and get her a passport, it's quite expensive to keep getting the animal health certificate
Welcome to Ireland are you going to head south of the border .
Yes 🙌👍
Great video! But please please please put Rosie in a harness, as she pulls so much she is going to damage her throat with a collar. 😊
She has one, typically we just forgot on this walk x
Having 3 girls and 3 boys ( now women and men) 😅
Try the old favourite
Top trumps card game ❤
Ohh we have that. Jack has the marvel version 👍
A harness would work better on the pup better control and not stressful for it and no chance of choking the pup .
Thanks Gail, we have one, but unfortunately we forgot that day 😂
Bus being a single decker will not be 3.7m high
Yeah I didn't think it was the same height. I think Ric was being optimistic
It's called a slip lead not a choker. Chokers are made of metal. Spaniels are know for pulling so getting a slip lead would be better. Just remember if you get a harness, it harnesses the power, which makes the pulling worse.
My spaniel is walked on a slip lead and has been from 10 weeks and has learnt to walk nicely on it after training
That's really good. May take a look 👍
How long will it take to see most of Northern Ireland ?
To completely cover Northern Ireland and also the Republic of Ireland I would imagine would take you to Christmas ?
Is it the plan to cross the border while you are on the island?
lovely lovely video ♥️🙏🏻🇺🇸💯.. ❌❌❌❌❌ 🐾
Yes I have a family game for 0:32 0:32 Mummy and Daddy being paid off P&O mum no food family
The chances of seeing any wildlife with three kids and a dig in tow have got tom be almost zero.
Hehe, well we like to remain hopeful 😂
Please get a harness for the dog that way you can control him a lot easier the weight is then in the middle of his back so much better for the dog and you ,you sure do take the kids to see some beautiful things the walk to the waterfalls must be so exciting for them ,enjoy your trip to Ireland 🇮🇪 take care and don’t eat all that Toblerone you piggy 🐖
We have a harness, just typically forgot it that day 🙈 Thanks for watching. Toblerone didn't last long 😂
@@Touringwiththekids well maybe you should buy two of them well it’s a cooker spaniel lol 😂
Can you go or
why.
If yiu get to Ireland get yourself and the children Cadburys it's much better here and Tayto crisps. If only staying in Northern Ireland their Taytos are okay. You can visit Tayto Castle in Tandragee if you can fit down the roads.
If you can fit down the roads? That’s a modified 7,1/2 tonne truck. There’s hundreds of them delivering parcels every day all over NI
Hi guys welcome to Ireland 🇮🇪
The Irish welcome you with open arms 🇮🇪
I’m going to say again what amazing kids they put a mega smile on my face well done to you mom and dad 👍☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Thanks! Much appreciated x
Grow some balls 😂
Cheers Billy 😂
ITS A SHIP NOT A BOAT EDUCATE THE KIDS, A BOAT GOES ON A SHIP🧐
Kid are kid
And if the think it’s a boat
It’s a boat
You are a grown person
Shame on you
We’ve always called it a boat , maybe the kids correct 😂
Re: Christine and Paul's negative comment. Children usually have their interpretation of things, please don't insult their parents, in my opinion the children are getting a fantastic education, please be more thoughtful with your comments 😊
It’s child not Kid, kids are baby Goats 😂😂
😂😂
