I really wish there were more car dealers like him around. Fixing items that are only advisories and fixing tears in seats that are barely seen.
It's sound business sense (to me anyways). If a car is prepped to a high standard, it's way less likely that someone will turn up on your doorstep moaning, when something goes wrong. If you ever watch the guys on "Salvage Rebuilds UK" - they have the same "just fix stuff" ethos and I think that shows respect for the customer and will make people come back again (like the Jag owner in this video). Deffo need more dealers like Matt.
@Duncan McEwan very true. Its a shame everyone doesn't have this attitude.
@James Cameron disappointed to hear this? If its true? Been looking to buy something from him.
@@jamescameron314 car trader just needs profit. Once unit ( car ) ready. And can be dealt. Has a set figure in mind. Bad dealers doing no prep deal. But you just get the auction car and a wash and a blind MOT. That’s the difference.
@@duncanmcewan1049 this is true but you can't catch everything and there's always something that can go wrong that you could never have seen coming. The water pump in my recent purchase popped a core plug, and lost coolant. Luckily it was spotted before it did any damage, but it was unlikely anyone would catch that in a pre-purchase inspection, unless they x-rayed the thing first :D
I imagine that there are some in the trade who started out like Matt, but got burned badly a few times and decided it just wasn't worth the expenditure up front, and thought they'd be better off taking their chances and thus ended up moving over to "the dark side" of corner-cutting dodgy dealing! You'd hope that the good ones are always rewarded just enough, in the medium to long term, to make it all worth their while.
You've made a profit, and your reputation is excellent.
Good car for dogging. Large boot area, no privacy glass, self levelling suspension, boot mat, nice and discreet.
ALRIGHT HIGH PEAK, HOWS IT GOING, WELCOME BACK
BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN
CARVERTICAL
Haven't seen the video yet but I reckon it could do with a good clean, new mats and new number plates. Oh and those little scratches will probably buff out
THISSSSSSS IS A ......
I say that every car needs a good buff now 😂
Hi Matt, Seeing as that is fast turnaround car I would be very happy with that profit. There are other positives, the guy buying the car was very honest and you are also very honest. The best deals are ones where both parties go away happy, your customer will be very happy that you went the extra miles and got the seatt fixed and the brakes replaced so he will not have any bills on that car for the next 12 months. Hopefully he will recommend you and you will get further sales in the future. I am a roofer and I always go the extra mile and as a result I get loads of business from recommendation, what goes around does come around. Getting good stock is always difficult, doing RUclips has worked out for you on this one, hopefully you can get more stock this way.
Hi Matt I think that's one of the nices car you bought in a long time, considering the mileage it looked really nice, the guy that bought it has got a real bargain. Cheers Phil form Newark
Thanks!
Phil - It's like it's a different era. When I was younger in the mid 80s, a car with mid 90k would be "avoid like the plague" territory. Now, that's just about bedded in ! Deffo better quality builds a lot of the time.
@@duncanmcewan1049 Hi there your so right about most of the UK car of the 80s
I like this guy, I wish there were more people like him among us.
I’ve said it before but after watching this one I’ll say it again. I’d happily buy a car from you Matt as I’d be confident in the knowledge it had been properly checked and prepared 👍
Well absolutely that's the mantra of his car business.
People see on here what he does in preparation and like he's says builds relationships
that's the idea of these uploads and the youtube channel, to inspire your confidence and sell more cars.😉
at the end of the day Matt profit is profit and keeps your stock moving i have watched many of your videos and it's nice to see someone who takes pride in his job and does it proper IE prepping the cars proper for sale as you do i would happily buy a car off you not many like you in the trade 👍
Yes, what else should it be other than profit? If you value your time, it is more than just about a high turnaround. 🥴
Stock is profit, profit is stock, that comment made you sound like an utter co...
Came for the car, stayed for the History lesson 👍
Very honest trader and always goes above and beyond where most others wouldn't .
Always find these videos helpful great advice
Nice work Matt, I enjoy your videos very much. You're a true car enthusiast and entertaining to watch. Thanks mate!
Great vid as always, especially the history lesson
What a refreshing way to do business. I'm glad that you are getting a positive sales benefit from your videos.
Well Done!
I love how genuine you are. Keep it up! I really enjoy watching your videos.
Great video as per. Lovely car - just adds to the value fixing those small defects and details. Something i feel a lot of other dealers would miss.
Great video and service as usual Matt. Is was in the market for mid size estate a few months ago. Don’t like the BMW 3 series, so was between Merc C class and Audi A4 avant. Went with newer Audi in the end but would have been happy with one of these too, lovely car
Nice car, stuff like new discs and pads are to be expected really on any car a few years old. Good that the channel has helped your reputation - buyers feel a sense of confidence and trust in your cars as they know you prep them properly and don't skim which is a worth a lot with a used car IMO. Not a bad profit and you sold it on quickly so all good👍
Nice car matt and a quick turnaround the man's got a good motor there and that's better than having it sat on your forecourt for weeks great video as usual and nice to see you know the dogging sites lol 😆
Great work Matt. I'm actually thinking of buying this exact one myself (albeit in AMG Line Premium Plus Trim). Need to upsize from my mid 20s BMW 1er Hot Hatch and pretend to be a practical family man now that I've turned early 30s. Better this than a Qashqai though! Really impressed with your honesty and eye for detail, fixing those seats was a real class touch when you consider how small the imperfections were.
Looks like someone’s had a good buy. I went with my mate to collect his new C220d estate a few years ago and liked it so much that I ordered one as soon as I got home. I’ve been really pleased with mine which has the newer, quieter 2 litre engine. For me it’s just a perfect everyday car. The only problem is I have no idea what I could ever replace it with.
Nice video and a history lesson to boot.
I would say the riskiest thing is driving to buy a car in a Jag XJ because after that everything else could seem very ordinary.
Mat for once a car that didn't need a good buff ! Great video FyI in gran Canaria last year we got in an e class with 890k on the clock no issues. Great video again wish more car dealers had your personal integrity and values.
Hi great video as always, very nice car look forward to your next video always enjoy them
Nice buy Matt. Personally I’d stretch a bit to get the E-Class because I always found the C-Class had a cheaper interior, but for just 10500£ that’s definitely got some profit in it.
Completely disagree with this one, E class interiors of around the same era (2014-2018) feel a lot more dated than this C class.
@@deltaneutral2783 E class is better in every way
@@deltaneutral2783yup agree the E class got updated later on so the C class has a more updated interior. I bought a 2017 C250d AMG line premium plus and what a car it is
I have an E Class and a C Class. They are such different cars I don’t think comparisons mean much. When I get in the C Class I feel nicely ensconced in the cockpit with the bolsters wrapping round me nicely. Great for shooting around town and whatever. For my frequent 400 mile plus drives however it doesn’t even begin to compare with the E Class. It’s so spacious and quiet.
Anyways, both cars are great cars. I’ve had 3 Es and 5 Cs over the years, enjoyed every one of them and never had any issues apart from having to replace a door lock on two of the Cs.
Anyone should that has either of these models should feel grateful that they get to drive such lovely cars.
E class shape changed in 2016 with the updated digital dash on the premium plus which I have the earlier e class has the dated dash 2010-2016
Great Question and Video, I think you are still going forward, so yes I would. Great content and thankyou for that!
Big thumbs up.!....loved the history lesson....oh nice jaguar too .
I am no fan of mercs, but this one was so mint (plus the put effort from Matt), that i really liked it.. :) Bravo!
Always thought the 2.1 d merc engine was a noisy tractor and a large white estate doesn't do it for me. The new owner though has the assurance of Matt's preparation and service , which goes a long way in that business.
Yes, have boat anchor engines- same basic engine in all the DPD Sprinter vans.
Fairly depenable though, I've 100k+ of pretty reliable motoring out of my w204, other than regular servicing its only had a leaky oil filter housing and a waterpump. But yes they are a bit lacklustre and unrefined by modern standards.
Matt, just watched this in full at work. You’re an absolute gent. Your profit came second on this and the customer care came first.
👏 How many car dealers could really say the same? I live
local (ish) in Timperley, and I’m looking to upgrade my old 1 series next year. Your garage will be the first place I check before I go anywhere else. Well played fella. Bravo. 👏
I had a C220 a few years back as a company car when the model was first launched, I loved it. It went all over Germany/Austria and Switzerland in 3 years, was such a comfortable car. After 4 hours on the autobahn I always felt relaxed at the end of a journey. I swapped it for an Audi A4 which tbh I preferred but the C class is still a great car
Mine was a company car then I bought it
Great video from Matt yet again i wish all used car dealers had your integrity mate.
Just shows you that honesty does pay. Well done.
Another great car video and a history lesson to boot. If I was in the market for a motor, I'd be on my way down.
Great Video Matt , Love the way you put the customer 1st
I always enjoy your videos and seeing how the trade works. Now if only you had a Beemer 530d touring in I would come knocking at your door! After a lot of thinking that is what I have set my sights on as my retirement present to me!
Reminds me of a Navy Blue E250D Company car I had in 2012, the day I got the 'brand new' car with 85 miles on, there was a huge rip in the passenger seat. I asked the transporter driver why there was a rip in the seat. He couldn't speak very good english so I phoned the dealership up and got a very stern 'well it wasn't there when it was loaded on the transporter, so it's your company's responsibility'.
Found out that a salesman had damaged the seat and tried to palm it off to us as if I wouldn't check. Ended up having the entire seat replaced at their cost, with three months worth of courtesy car (merc GLA) as they ordered the wrong seat to begin with (non electric seat).
Now I check all items before i accept and sign for a delivery.
We’ll done Matt I think that you might just change the worlds view on the motor trade one car and customer at a time 👍👍👍
New subscriber here! just going through my lessons right now and I have absolutely no idea about cars, I've really enjoyed watching you video's and when I see a car I'm always looking to see your thoughts. Now I want a jag xf for my first car thanks to you.
Hi Matt, another educational video as well as entertaining lol and some profit too, things are looking good, all the very best from Nick the Lexus guy in Wolsingham.
I have said this about you before Matt,I admire your integrity.A very rare thing in the car trade and in the world generally.Another great video.👍🏼
Thanks
I think Matt drives a Range Rover; though I'm not saying the Hyundai Integrity is a bad car (or was it a Honda?) 😄
I've said it before, how can a punter suss (?) out a dealership like this? There's no real way. No code that a dealer swears to. (There's an idea!)
I spent a few weeks searching and visiting dealers for an MPV on behalf of my then boss and his family on a 3 year assignment from their home country.
Not a reassuring experience.
Well done and you deserve an easy one now and again. 🎉
Great review Matt, thank you👏
Great car - nice to see someone actually looked after this car!
i always enjoy your great CAR VIDEO content.😉
Yes, there is a C200, which is sluggish. I had a 2015 C250 estate and loved it. It gave me 60mpg on a long run. I replaced it with a 2018 E220d which I need for the extra space.
And was the E220 just as economical? only ask as thinking of buying one.
I did the same! I had a 2015 C220d estate which I bought with 75k on it at 3 years old. Sold it after 4 years with 97k and got an E220d Premium estate. The C is a great car but the E is so much better. I got a late 2016 which is still on £30 tax, cream leather and sunroof. Much more space and really so smooth and relaxing.
I drive a C200. While it doesn’t have Tesla like performance, it’s nippy enough while staying under the speed limit.
@@oneshotrally Yes, definitely. Go for the late 2016 onwards, with the better, 2.0 engine with the nine speed gearbox. Like everything, the economy is dependant on the way you drive. I regularly go from Gloucestershire to Nottingham so visit family and, traffic permitting, get 63mpg, using eco driving mode.
@@davidorama6690 In the UK most will be running on diesel. I think the C200 is a petrol unit which will have a very different character. Of course opinion is split but I am in the diesel camp but each to their own.
Another brilliant video Matt.
Love the videos keep up the good work
Thanks!
The buyer has got himself a really good 'un there. One of your best, Matt. Lovely car - and no privacy glass - Whoopee!!
Top content as always Matt. Keep doin what ya doin. 👍
Thanks!
That white van was delivering parts for one of yours!! Great result. Welcome back to England the buyer! Cheers
Didn't expect the history facts at the end, love it! Have driven a C350e (work pool car) a few times, and it's lovely. Has air suspension as standard which is very cosseting. Fancy a C-Class coupe next myself, great cars.
Great video - your best to day. Especially your parting comments. Profit isn’t a “dirty word” plus you didn’t make that full amount as I dare say you had to pay your mate/employee when you collected the car, then fuel (for both cars) and your time. Then the tax you need to pay on the profit and other overheads.
Love your videos and next time I’m in the market to buy I’ll be in touch. 👍
Hi Matt good informative video as ever with a good story line plus profit.
Thanks!
Nice looking car, great review as usual.
Bought one of these last year, with the Premium Plus AMG Line. Lovely car to drive and it looks very expensive for what it is. I took your advice and got the Gearbox services, Surprosingly main dealer mercedes was the cheapest option. They also dealt with a buch of recalls on the car that were outstainding.
Done a trip from Edinburgh to Windsor and back in April, managed to get 56MPG average and in super comfort.
a great video and a great history lesson. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it
Another great video Matt. A good car too.
More history added to the videos Matt loved that bit.
Exactly like one that i've bought. 2015 C250d, except it's an amg line. However, coming from w221 s class, every possible material I touch feels so cheap. But the economy is great ! 🙂 Keep them coming Matt ! 😀
That’s the trouble. Once you’ve had an S Class everything else is inferior
You are a good man Matt!
I've got a 68 plate 220d estate, average mpg is 56,on a long run I can get as much as 78 mpg, smack the sport + button and 0-60 is under 7 seconds. Comfortable, economical and good fun to drive when you change the driving mode. I love it!
I like them. I’d have one as a daily car
I drive a 2016 c250d! I love it. They’re a great everyday. 👌🏼
Such a nice car, I'm saving to buy a car from you hopefully later this year! 😊
I had a 20 plate C220d on hire from Enterprise Heathrow, great car but I found it a bit squashed as there's no foot rest. Nice car though and very good at a touch over the speed limit cruising up the M6, stable and not too much road noise.
Great video Matt 👍
Excellent episode
Another nice car nicely priced and good information to go with it
Matt you are an absolute star!
Nice car Matt and the Jaguar you went to Leicester in was a beaut also thanks for the history lesson 😅
this is worth the watch for the james town reference alone!
Hi Matt if you’re confident that there will be no warranty claim then we’ll it is a fair deal for you. As this was a quick turnaround and not sitting on the lot for weeks then that’s also great. Cash flow is king and let’s hope you get a few more of these online quickies.
Great review.
I was particularly interested in your thoughts as I have a very similar vehicle as my daily driver: 2015 C220d Sport in black and I have to say, it's a really nice car to potter around in.
It's comfortable, quiet and extremely economical on a run. Merc wagons are inherently quite cool, in my opinion, and this is my first one.
Main criticism is that it doesn't have a start/stop button, but everything else is spot on for my needs.
Hi Matt, Great video once again. I have recently been toying with the idea of buying an Estate car or station wagon as we call them here in Oz. Just so happens the MB C250 was one I was considering along with Audi A4 and possibly a Skoda. Maybe you have swayed me to the C250. Thanks for history lesson. Maybe include a fun fact in every video.
You make this seem so nice, almost effortless, and not just the video the whole process. I'm not saying that to decrease the value of the work I'm just saying it because it looks like a dream job for my perspective. Great videos and great cars, good job Matt.
love your honesty and love your car
Nice one, Matt... 👍
This amount of win is staggering Matt.
Nice video mate
Thanks for the history lesson
thanks Matt nice car and video
Great car and brilliant job on it by the way
Good honest profit for not too much back breaking work- result! 👍👍👍👍👍
I can only echo what people have said before matt great video from an honest guy ,
Credit to you for preparing it properly, even when you had sold it.
Love the car 💕 great vids matt 👌
Love the history fact, lets get one in each episode please
Very nice car and spec, and I’d think also reasonably reliable, especially compared to the 6 cilinder versions. Also great to see it without the tinted windows for a change. This guy bought himself a nice one👌🏼
The 6 cylinder diesels are great once maintained. I currently have one and far less timing chain and injector issues than the 4 cylinder engine.
Hope it stays that way mate! I won’t tell you too much about the 6 cilinder diesel I had, let’s just say I had a different experience🙈
@@dickpeuten1988 please do tell me the issues mine hasn’t been flawless by any means iv had to do oil cooler seals and thermostat on my motor same car had to do front abs wheel sensors and both rear suspension level sensors. Had just as much issues with my 4 cylinder Vito though so I’m not hater of the 6 cylinder just yet.
A true car guy. Happy the C250 made a decent profit. 👏
History lesson, motors & sharp wit all rolled into a single video. Excellent work centurion. Yet going to dock 10 marks for yet again still no HM leg gag slipped in for good measure.
8/10 must try harder.
Hahaha cheers
I learn a lot from this channel. Now i can add history to that list as well
Haha thanks
Another class watch with a bonus history lesson 👍🏼
Thanks!
Hello Matt
I hope your well?
I love your honesty
That is a beautiful car I love it
Lisa UK xxxx
Loving the haircut !!
Good video Matt ,a pound profit is profit mate ,nice car ,i find it amazing this big estate is cheaper to tax than my neighbours 1.0 Yaris lol
Great jumper nice colour decent car too. Top job 👍👍
Love your work 👍
Got a bit excited when I saw you were in an XJ despite it being a Mercedes video 😂
Do like the C-Class, just wish in the UK MB had offered it with the other bumper which ment the 3 pointed star was on the bonnet and not in the grille. Perhaps I’m old fashioned but like my Mercs with the star where I can see it
Hi Matt nice car £1507 is quite a good profit too.Keep those videos going.
