Was very interested in this vid as I have exactly the same car, C250, same colour, same wheels, pano roof etc, 2011 with 65k on the clock. Had it for 8 years, best car I’ve ever owned, 37mpg everyday driving, 55mpg on a run, loads of torque. Surprisingly practical if you don’t have kids, plenty of boot space with the seats down.
Cure the sunroof squeak by tilting the roof, get a sponge and spray with silicone lube, then soak the rubber seal under the glass using the sponge. The seal dries over time and sounds like polystyrene!
I also have scuffed wheels, they are positioned very close to the nose so scuffing is a fact of life.
Lovely car though, I’ll keep mine for as long as i can until it starts causing issues. So far it’s just been general wear and tear.

    Had a 2012 C250 Coupe. Loved it.
I was a passenger in a friend's E Coupe and went to have a look the following week at the dealer.
Heart beat head and I bought the C Coupe same day on a good deal. Well that's what my heart told my head.
The front styling sets it off nicely - understatedly aggressive.
Always used its 200+ horses when called/needed and not thirsty, would expect 55+ on a motorway journey.
The panoramic glass roof was a good option to help stop the rear feeling like a hermitage.
Mine was the premium spec so had the heated fake leather seats and the intelligent lights that follow the steering in a Citroen DS fashion.
Yours should sell quickly and give the next owner a nice gentleman's cruiser.

Re: No one does this! With reference to spending money on a car before selling it. I do! Like you Matt I like to keep all my cars (currently all 4 of them) in pristine condition. If I were ever to take a car to an MOT and get an advisory, I would consider that a personal insult. And I’ve never had.
Mind you, when I’ve found that perfect car, the one that I would trade in one of my 10+ cars for, the car trader just looks up the price in whichever guide, then offers my that price. No consideration of service history, condition, cleanliness. I may have just as well not bothered. That’s why I currently have 4 cars. Soon to have 5 as I don’t trust the trader to vet the potential buyer to ensure they are worthy of the pristine example.
More often than not, I’ll buy a car, then start spending money on it to get it to the best it can be stage.
I’m lucky because I can afford to do so. But I think about cars like that advertisement “a cars not just for Christmas” it so much more than that.

I almost bought a two year old one (1.8 petrol) for £18k back in 2016. Nice colour and low mileage but I didn't like the dealer's attitude and so I ended up buying an Astra GTC with even less mileage for just £7k. It still keeps my backside 6 inches off the floor to this day and I kept £11k in the bank.
The Astra over six years on hasn't depreciated much but the Mercedes would have tanked.

September 2016 I bought a 2014 reg Mercedes C220 2.1 CDI Blue Efficiency Diesel with about 54k on the clock, paid £14,000 odd for it, was driven down to my address (SE London) from Newcastle. Had it for around 18-19 months before there were DPF regen issues and a leaky boost hose which kept causing the car to go into limp mode. Took it to Mercedes in Caterham and they charged £30 to diagnose it, ended up quoting me £110 (for a part I could buy for £55) and 2 hours labour at £220/hour, for a total of £550.
I ended up getting the car fixed at my home address by a dad's mate who has his own mobile mechanic business and he spent probably a good two hours working on it and did it for a bargain price of £80, plus me providing the part at a cost of £55.
Once it was repaired, for less than £150 when I was quoted £550, I part-exchanged it against a 2017 ford focus st-2 which was 16 months old with 5k on the clock. I got £8,000 for my Mercedes and at the time it had around 87/88k on it.
Early 2022 my Focus' engine literally blew up whilst on a dual carriageway, apparently a known fault with the ecoboost engines whereby a pipe that goes behind the engine can in some cases suddenly and very rapidly overheat causing a pressure build up and it bursts. Ended up selling that car for parts to co-part for £4k and now have a 3 litre BMW 335D X Drive.

It behaved terribly with the cheap tires that came with it... the rear was all over the place, especially when cornering...
Premium car needs premium tires!... that's my experience of driving different MB's for 37 years.. installed a new set of Goodyear Eagle asymmetric 6... a completely better handling car...
Went on a roadtrip to Germany this summer and it did 220km/h without feeling out of power.. or the steering feeling "wobbly"

I dunno. It's a relatively low-powered diesel. It's more of a show car than a go car. I'm not sure I'd put premium tyres on such a used car, especially if I were the kind of person who didn't shop around. As I am the kind of person to shop around, I'm pretty sure I could find budget premium-branded tyres for not significantly more, but many people just ask the garage to put on a cheap set or pair of new tyres. And here, you can see that the front got the cheap brand first and later the rear just got the same. The service history strongly suggests they didn't cheap out on anything else.

I had two of these the exact same model the second one was to replace the first after a drunk driver ploughed into at speed causing my car to role three times coming to rest back on its wheels. I was able to get out and stand up for a short while before collapsing the build and safety features saved my life that day. Great cars amongst the best I've ever owned the engine was fairly powerful if a little agricultural they still look great and are reasonable to run.

6 grand seems a lot for one of these, my advice would be look at a well kept slightly older clk with a six or eight cylinder and all the options. It is a bigger car and more luxurious, if you got an 07,08,09, clk 280 350 or 500 with many options and similar miles you get a different class of car for similar money, they are out there.

I had the same model for s few years and absolutely loved it. Never had a problem with it. Stupidly, I chopped it in for an SLK250, which, in 12 months of ownership, I had five DPF problems. I should never have swapped it, but hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it.
I agree with you, Matt, about having decent tyres on it. Mine had budget ones on when I got it and it would easily fishtail in the wet, if I wasn't careful. A set of Dunlop Sportsmax cured that. Keep up the good work Matt.
