Guido, I always wondered what happened to you. Some of my best memories are of my (sadly deceased) nephew and I watching your videos. He found your enthusiasm for a particular Porsche power unit funny. Hoping you're around for a while to make more wholesome content. #teamgeiger
Thank you! Very sorry to hear about your nephew and touched that he enjoyed my content. Yes, I will try to post more regular this year. Some info on that is in the chat I did with my buddy, that I just uploaded. Maybe you want to checkt it out and post us a question for the next one? Cheers, Guido
Guido, What is refreshing about your reviews is that you have the opportunity to review comparable cars in both controlled and road circumstances. Thus, you are able to experience and report on how the cars perform in the real world under the same conditions. Too many reviews, particularly in the U.S., are conducted on closed tracks under conditions one would rarely encounter on the open road or day to day. With regard to the new S and RS Audis you point out that most reviewers quit when they first encounter oversteer and don't know how to maximize the technological capability of these suspensions. While the Audis may be less precise than a contemporary Porsche Cayman or base 911, they provide 99% of the handling and enjoyment with dramatically higher levels of comfort and technology, particularly on the poor road surfaces so prevalent here in California, so they do not spend most of their time in the garage as low mileage weekend toys but can be enjoyed every day. When I am back in Bavaria and Austria in the fall I always choose an Audi.
Thank you very much for the positive feedback, Donovan! I have worked for a large german magazine with track testing involved, including lap time recording. Sometimes it helps to show the development from one generation to the next, when you have this kind of data. Surprised included :) However, the road driving is where its all at unless you talk GT3s and stuff like that. This S7 is a sweet car, I hope you get to drive one here in germany! - Guido
@@TheGetawayer Guido, After I recently sold a 997 Cayman 911 Sport, I have been unable to find a good 2014-2016 Cayman S/GTS or base Carrera with the six cyl engine. We just replaced our BMW 530i Sport that we picked up in Munich in 2002 with a 2014 Audi A6 Prestige for comfort on long trips. So, as I couldn't find a good Porsche that fit my criteria of fun, fast, daily driver, I just added a 2018 Audi S5 Prestige that I find is great fun, and a perfect everyday drive, that I can still hammer on Hwy 1 South of Carmel through Big Sur and other twisty roads in Northern California. I would be very interested if you get the chance to test an S5 (or the harsher RS5) and compare them with comparably priced Prosche coupes.
Your best review yet . . . Why? The Video Inserts (Power Supply & Drive Train)...Are you serious! Happy anniversary & keep up the GREAT WORK! #CommitmentToExcellence
@@TheGetawayer Isn't it completely synthetic? I mean coming from the speaker. I find it really annoying as otherwise this car passes for a great motorway car. I see this S7 as direct replacement of the old A7 3.0 bitdi.
I don’t understand this car. Sound and same plastic tips we can do with 2-3k eur oem conversion kit and get it on Audi A7 55 petrol which is just 0.1 sec slower than s7. Add mtm tune and it’s a much better alternative on paper at least. Not to mention no tractor sound on idle
You cant compare the petrol to the diesel here in europe. The range you get from the diesel is much more comforting doing long autobahn drives and therefore is still great imho. I don't call the sound brilliant, but with all the fake noise we get these days, I have heard much worse. That E53 is not a great sounding car imo and I wrote a test of the CLS 53 too ( against the Panamera : www.autobild.de/artikel/mercedes-amg-cls-53-porsche-panamera-4s-test-13757965.html) massive understeer, less power than the old 43 engine. Not a car worthy of the AMG badge imo ;)
@@TheGetawayer Thanks for reply, i'm in EU and understand benefits of diesel, but for me RS / S range is less about fuel efficiency because there are so many more models a hybrid for a7 :) great review still, hoping to see more honest videos and that slide was a nice touch
TheGetawayer but not new e class amg , right? I would be fine with s4 fake tips but mid luxury / prestige cars ... fumes in winter that come from other car parts scream cheap
Your reviews are such a breath of fresh air from other youtubers. That powerslide had me double check of we were still talking about an audi here 😯
Thanks! I clearly enjoyed the car :D Cheers, Guido
Great point that most drivers won't ever realize this car's potential. They may enjoy the style and prestige, but will miss this car's true calling.
top class review (even I do not like the car a lot). glad to have you back. With that, are you back with "regular" reviews?
Thank you! Yes more coming soon, stay tuned :)
I'm glad to see you're still around. Back when I was into cars you were one of my favorite reviewers.
Thank you Steve! So you don't like cars anymore? :)
@@TheGetawayer Haha. Well, I've settled. Basically. Have a good one!
Always loved the looks of the S7s. Great review Guido!
Thanks Eric! I prefer this to the first A7 / S7, but both are very elegant- Guido
didn't know this video existed until you mentioned it on the M2 video.
Thank you for letting me know! Maybe I need to ask people to hit that bell :/
Great review. Audi really makes vehicles for those that love tech and stat sheets. Very forgiving
Thanks! Yes, they still improve noticably, which I liked alot. - Guido

I will try. Hard to justify to get cars if the views stay this low-😅 Guido

What's your take on the fake exhaust tips??
Ive seen worse, like on the C63 S f.e. Plus I like the sound, I think for a diesel its pleasent. You don't?

Great video, great explanation of the driving experience and dynamics.
Great explanation of that differential working, I doubt most people will get to experience it though. Thank you 😊
Another great review 👍
Glad you enjoyed, John!
Nice video!

Haha no, just a dangerrous junction :)
great review :)
Thank you!
I wish manufacturers would offer buttons and dials as an option instead of touchscreens.
As long as the touch screens work well, I think its fine. But often they dont

Was das Interieur angeht...Ja :D
Beautiful car and a beautiful review. 😎🇿🇦👍🏾
Thanks!
This car starts at $101,000 here in Canada. For that money I'd prefer a Panamera for a few dollars more, however, this is a great car.
You are very welcome!

Test drive the new 2020 BMW X3 M Competition.
Yes, but will my 1.8m skis fit inside?
I didn't test it, but its a spacious car :)
What would Scotty Kilmer say about this car? :)
Send him the video and ask ;-)
