Would you spend 80k for the A45??? Also: If you missed some of my new videos, here is the 2020 playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLAgd55y0S6JulRs5Yp7VfnseP6oH9iGpI
Would prefer a used 991 or used AMG GT which you can get for 80k. but as an amg owner and former a45 owner I will always love this kind of cars. A45 was my first Benz and I still love it. Even although I have missed to order the sports exhaust in my first Benz. 😂
me personally absolutely not! in this segment i would go for a second hand mk3 focus rs with a proper manual gearbox and if power would seem insufficient I would add a mountune package on it. In Germany those RS are around 25000 - 30 000 for a 2 years old car?! The smart AWD tech this Merc is using was more or less first out on the market with the Focus RS MK3.
Excellent review, Guido. 80K is indeed a LOT to pay for a car the size of a VW Golf. Very good looking car, though, especially inside. It's basically the new standard in terms of quality and design.
Man, great review again! Could you get a test drive of C 43 AMG or have you driven already - best of all worlds? Peugeot 508 GT also could be surprisingly good. Greets from Finland, going to visit Nordschleife soon. :)
Thank you! Yes, I did a few comparison tests with the C43 at Auto Bild. Always liked the engine and sound, but the fixed 40:60 AWD makes for a handling like the car is on rails. Not bad at all, but less exciting than the new Audi S4 and especially the BMW M340i, which I think is still the best car in this segment. Enjoy your time in germany!
Great technology statement this car is - but it isn’t a hot hatch imo: no front wheel drive, no manual and double of the usual price range. Still a great car...
Yeah man, why not. I own the Golf R MK7.5 as well. A45S is an awesome car really. Handling and performance just on the next3 level. My A45S Edition 1 will be next in my car garage next few weeks. 😜👍
The problem is this engine will not last long. Think about it: it’s half the engine of the 4L V8 with almost the same hp. My AMG Service Tech has said the same thing. Enjoy this as a lease, but don’t expect 100,000 miles.
@@TheGetawayer In Norway, a 2014 507 is double price of a 2010 normal C63. Would you buy 507 or normal one? Is there a big difference between the two in your opinion? Thank you so much for your advice.
@@TheGetawayer did it feel quicker than the M2 Comp and audi rs3 ? iv had both and only problem was the very short 1st gear on m2 comp (stick) and audi was better but little on and off power like the old school turbo cars!
@@26Tackle.reviews I think they are very closely matched, also from what I read in magazines who do testing. The BMW feels punshier to me and more violent in gear. BMWs launch control and rwd is no match from a stand still to keep up with the RS3 and A45 but at the top, I think its quicker even with a manual. That said the A45s engine felt great and I really enjoyed it responsiveness and top end. Hope that helps and I'm sure you will like yours! Let me know
No, I wouldn’t. Get a golf R and slap a stage 2 on it and it becomes so close that it doesn’t matter anymore. I’ll keep the rest of my money for track days in the golf or better yet, get a BRZ for the track.
Yes, I'm curious to see it. Drove the TT RS again for a review this year (maybe you've seen it?) and I loved it. That engine is a masterpiece and should survive as long as possible
For me this car is the embodyment of everything that is wrong with the car industrie nowadays. Including: small displacement turbocharged engine, artificial sound, front wheel biased 4 wheel drive, ugly busy design with lots of (fake) “bits” added to make it look sporty, digital speedometer, fingerprint prone materials etc. etc.
Im all for the analog stuff myself, but the interior here is a step ahead of the rest of this class. And people want tech! We all use smartphones, so cars have to keep up. Engines and drivetrains will get much smarter but less exciting than this, Im sure

Sooo expensive, better cars for same price. Still havent seen one, only a35. Mercedes is trying to be someone else. Comfort and luxury is mercedes, not agressive sport car. Bmw and porsche are the only brands that can build a true sports car in my opinion

Another great review Guido.
What’s next?
Had my A45S for 6 weeks. Finally run-in, and it’s just amazing - I love it ! Have to admit that it doesn’t sound as good as the Audi RS3 though !

Fair enough and thank you for watching the video anyway :)
Impressive hot hatch. Looks good. They did a great job. Tough price to stomach. Great review.

Thanks Matt, great to read a comment from you again, I appreciate it :)
Man, 425hp out of a 2 liter??? That's nuts! I guess you don't need 5 cylinders, Audi ;)
I'm sure Audi will respond with at least 450 hp :) That 5 cylinder has so much more to give
Now I order one after the car got Gidos blessings! 🙏🏾😊
Haha, I like your way of researching :)

You do have a point. What should we call it?
TheGetawayer ...let’s call it Performance MFC (Multi Functional Car)....🤨
TheGetawayer it’s no longer a hot hatch, it’s now a hyper hatch. AMG welcomes you to the new world of hyper hatch’s with hyper price to match
Great review 👏......when you reviewing an M5 Comp ?..
Driven it a bunch last year, but I think a new one is coming in the not so far future. So will see what BMW can offer for the next test ;)
Will the car undercarriage crashes on bumpers due to its low cut body design?
I had no problems during testing
TheGetawayer I see..thx man...Awesome video 👍. Keep goin’.

I would love to see you do a test in RUF CTR or SCR.

Shooting Brake I say :D
