You might want to rename this to an "unboxing" instead of a review. Useful information, but nothing on how well it works or picks debris up or how well it tracks/maps. Still worth the view. Thanks.
*I absolutely love this thing for cleaning all flooring surfaces **MyBest.Tools** even does a great job on throw rugs. Highly recommend! Cuts cleaning time in half!*
It should have came with one! The updating models with smart mapping however have added no-go zones, in the map details you can add areas you want the Roomba to avoid.
supra2nv do me a favour when you get it please, test if the new extractors fit the 980 and run and for shits and giggles if you getting with the self empty unit see if the 980 will dock itself with it and if that triggers the unit.
fantastic, my hope is that the extractors work and run in the 980 that way when I replace next I might get them if they better then the 980 stock ones.but my big interest is with the new unit, my hope is Roomba or a third party will release a bin upgrade for 980 so you can get the unit and replace the bin and have that benefit.
dear, thank you for the video.... I would like to know what is the input voltage AC of the charger, you can find it written on the adapter or manuals... can you add video to show this information..., note: at 4:19, you start to check the charger but because you were moving it, I was not able to read the small writing of input voltage... regards.
Nice video, the roomba i7 looks great, I noticed that the output voltage of the charger is 20.5 v and 1.25 Ah, similar to the old charger, have you ever swapped charger with your roomba 690?
I have not ever switched them, but they should both just the same as they run the same voltage/design for the base. Wish I still had it to check for sure though!
I bought the i7 yesterday. Robot software : 1.0.8. But when I try to update the new software for this robot, it still spinning on my phone, can not start update ( no smart mapping ) !!! Reboot, clear data, clear cache … but no luck !!!
Thanks , I just restart my router and still can not download. Called iRobot customer service, they say : Not now, they will release new software on later this month ! I use my old 980 and will return i7 tomorrow !
I can't attest to how it performs on dark carpets, but I used to have an issue with my Roomba 690 getting "stuck" on a stair ledge; the i7 does not seem to have this issue ( I believe this happens due to the lack of light ie possibly similar to dark carpet situation? ) If I do find out though I'll report back with a more constructive answer.
Hi, I just bought an i7 as well and mine didn't come with the power cord. I tried chatting with irobot to at least find out how many amps the cable uses and they don't know (and even told me to buy a new dock). Can you please read what it says on the tip of your power cord? I need to know how many ampers it uses. Should be 7A, 5A or something like that. I'd appreciate that. Thank you.
@@EconomicalGamer thanks, but that's not quite it. Can I send you an email with the image of what I'm looking for? I'm desperate. Today I spent 20 minutes on a long distance call will irobot from Brazil and they also couldn't help me.
They have e5, e6 series model exclusively for Costco and Sam's Club for under $400. It is the same new series of Roomba minus the mapping and the Vacuum suck bin. The e5, e6 has Wfi phone and Alexa support for under $400.Mapping does not necessary means you get better cleaning. Plus at Costco you can return the Roomba 5 years from now and get your money back.
I bought the iRobot Roomba e5 5134. Its an awesome product but, very dumb. It zig zags around and bumps into everything. This i7 comes to the base very quickly! unlike e5 which it would look lost and take a few minutes.

Hi, did you have to pay extra for the virtual wall barrier? Mine didn’t come with one and it was the same model. Thanks!

Sweet robot! Mines on the way from iRobot. Can’t wait ^v^
Awesome! It's funny how a smart vacuum can be so exciting lol
EconomicalGamer my Roomba 980 needs company ^v^

Carl ok I will test this for you. My I7 + should be here in a couple days :)

@@thanhtran_ohio2286 Damn... I'm sorry that didn't work for you 😞 I know the update took a really long time when I first took my Roomba out.
would love to see how it performs on dark carpets!

Abhishek Sethi works fine now on dark carpets. iRobot solved that issue
@supra2nv i would love to see it in action it would be awesome if you can take a video because if that is solved i am picking it up from costco tmrw
Abhishek Sethi I will have my robot this week. Does Costco carry the i7? They carry the e6 I believe.
@@joejee01 I'm not too sure 🤔 you'll have to check their website
do you still have the 690
I do not... Unfortunately a sacrifice was made to get the i7 😫

The indication of power I could find on the cable stated [300V] 😖 hope that helps

Where you buy it?
I purchased mine from Best Buy.
The 980 maps the room them forgets. This one remembers
