Police release footage of suspected shooter in Long Beach teen's murder

- The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help to solve the murder of a 17-year-old girl.
Briana Soto was fatally shot on March 26 around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of 11th Street and Lewis Avenue, police said in the days following the attack.
Police said Soto was speaking with her mother on the phone as she was walking home after working at McDonald’s. She was just steps away from her house on E. 11th St. near Lewis Avenue when the suspect shot and killed her.

I think this is the same suspect who stalked & attacked two different women in Long Beach with an iron bar on Jan 5th. The other location is 2.4 miles from this location. Video exists of that suspect, the police need to get experts to analyze both videos.

Possible too. Maybe a jealous ex or someone she rejected or just wrong place at the wrong time. There were several shootings in the area leading up to this incident so I wonder if it's related to local gang violence.

Look at the McDonald's cameras if they have them. My guess is she wouldn't give her phone number to some random guy who then followed her home to earn back his respect.

Certain parts but believe it or not, the homicide numbers are down about 2/3s from the peak in the 90s. It was wild then. One year had over 100 murders. The data I read recently showed 30 something or so per year.
