I just bought a M12 Heated Axis for our kids Elementary School security guard who is a retired cop..,he puts his life on the line protecting our kids and stands out in freezing NY Temps...Hopefully he gets some relief from this heated Jacket/Raincoat... can larger Amp hour AH Batteries be used?
@@technicalitems731 there is an adapter, part no. 49-24-2371. keep in mind that the m18 will be heavier. someone did a test with the m18 12.0 ah battery and it lasted 18 hours on the high setting
As some that has owned the milwaukee hardshell jacket (yes i know it isn't the axis jacket) I can tell you it works better if you wear the thinest possible layer under the jacket and if for whatever reason you aren't warm enough wear another layer over the jacket. thick layers insulate you too much from the heat of the jacket so it kinda defeats the purpose of wearing the jacket. It's also nice not having to tons of layers and all that clothing weight slowing you down on the jobsite. I wore only a t-shirt for 3 years with my first milwaukee jacket and m12 batteries, then I purchased power in motions 16v batteries to make the jacket even better. This year I bought a milwaukee workskin to wear under the jacket; Mainly to offset any sweating I do since the workskin solves that problem the tshirt wouldn't solve.
@@einsteindisguisedasrobinho717 It was last Christmas. Mine looks like the one in this video but mine doesn't have the heated shoulders. I love the heated hand pockets better.
I got a the tuff shell version and love it. The sizing guide that Milwaukee has listed on their website and forwarded to retailers are off. I ordered a 3XL but ended up returning it for a 2XL to make sure it fits more snug and actually utilize the heating. Great review!
this thing is amazing.. I was honestly about to quite smoking cause I hate going outside to smoke in the winter.. not anymore!! For real tho 5 stars amazing! No complaints
John Faber please still quit smoking...I smoked for 26 years and after 15 Attempts...I’ve finally quit for good No patches, gum, potions etc All that stuff does is prolong the pain Quit cold turkey!!!! I’ve been done for 4 months It does get easier
@vcg 2 things I want to see in this jacket. 1. Rubber on the shoulders. I'm a handyman and during the winter my shoulder bag slides right off. 2. Is the one key system. I misplace my jackets all the time.
Great for riding my Harley in Nov/Dec. Layered under my Leather and im set. Cheaper than a heated leather jacket. Only need one leather jacket and this heated jacket
Great vid guys. Very nice jacket. I have a few of the older ones. I bought after watching a much older video of yours vince even tho you didnt have one. Welcome to the club. They get wicked hot. Fun stuff
Maybe the 2018 version was good and warmed up but I recently returned mine back to home Depot because it wouldn't heat up. As an electrician working out in cold weather this sounded like an awesome jacket but I had to keep adding layers to warm up. Friend has one and doesn't keep him warm either.
I own last yrs tuff shell and I thought it was ridiculous to buy at first but I love it now, but this thing (axis) has got my attention I like the look , I like the shoulder and I may have to cash in my change jar to get one lol!
That would be worth having just to keep in the trunk incase your car breaks down on the side of the road in the middle of winter and you had to walk home.
Heated pockets would be nice but I don't work with my hand in my pockets. Would like to have inside pockets to hold the phone, velcro flap, USB port in pocket to keep it topped off! Best to build something based on in field testing. Still like the jacket, Best to buy a size up. I found them slightly undersized,
It looks nice! Seems like it would be good if you are standing doing work all day. I would hate the placement of that battery though. I think it would be terrible for skiing. Every time you sit down on a ski lift you would be sitting on that battery. Doesn't look comfortable for your back
Use the sizing chart before buying, if you buy a size too small the battery placement can be an issue. The right size allows the battery to move to your side when sitting!!
It would be nice if they made these in hi vis because most job sites require u to where hi vis specially the commercial and big company’s that are really big on safety because it helps them with insurance deals . To be honest I hate wearing a vest specially over my jackets because it’s snags and gets in the way. also I never forget my jacket but I sometime I forget my vest when I take it out to wash it. now I’ve leaned to keep an extra in my truck in case that happens.
It’s very important to get the jacket sized correctly, too small for your build and you could risk a kidney breaker if you sit down too quickly!! Having the right size allows the battery to move to your side more.
I love reviews on work gear! We don’t only operate and hold our tools. We wear them too! I don’t think you have done a review on magnet shoes and I’m thinking about picking a pair up🧐
Rick Walbridge same! I’m a plumber and I hate wearing my nice things to work. I have two pairs of red wings.. one for work that I really don’t care if it gets destroyed and the other one for regular use when I’m not at work. I’d never take them to work at all. I deciding to get the heated sweater inside because I can throw a jacket that will protect it on top
Go figure Vince you would make this video on the axis right before I bought the toughshell jacket today lol. I looked at the axis one first the local Home Depot didn’t have a size large.
I was so mad I bought my jacket last yr and found out the hard way Milwaukee makes 3 power sources and was mad I could not charge my m12 batts with the power source that came with my jacket ! I’ve wanted the power source in this vid since I found out and was only avail off the shelf by it self
Hey Vince where can I look online to buy the heated jackets and all the other great gear so I can be ready for this winter coming up? Plus I watch all your videos and I love them its helped me in my start of my HVAC career thank you so much keep the info coming love it mu brother 🙏
bout the gloves and jacket. gloves are sweet work really good. jacked not impressive. handwarmers barely get past room temp and the other heat zones dont really get hot enough to feel
home depot's website says they have the large 22 packout box for $56.00 went to Home Depot today because they said theres 3 in stock, looked all over but nowhere to be found :O
@@VCGConstruction Update: went to home depot and asked again and the same worker recognized me and we found them stocked in a bay up high hidden away and she gave me 10%off for the item on top of the sale already. I was just going to buy one but its a steal at $50.00 a piece for the large box so I grabbed 2 of them. Also I ordered my m18 milter saw for $250 from Homedepot. The Milwaukee tool deals this year have been great!

Yes you can use larger batteries
VCG Construction can we use the m18 fuel batteries like I use in my cordless impact? Or, is there an adapter?

Great video. I live outside Pittsburgh, and that is going to be my new winter jacket. Just another example of why Milwaukee is the best.
Becoming one of my favorite channels! Sharing with all my buddies and buddettes.
Thanks Andy we appreciate it!!
My son gave me that jacket for Christmas last year. It is super warm even without the power on. The best part is the heated hand warmers.
Wow mine doesn’t have heated hand warmers!!
where u get heated hand warmer model? thanks
@@einsteindisguisedasrobinho717 It was last Christmas. Mine looks like the one in this video but mine doesn't have the heated shoulders. I love the heated hand pockets better.
Some Milwaukee jackets have the hand warming element and no shoulder element.

I get that.... the thick shell version is great for work though as it can take a beating
I paid $120 for that on Monday a day before my birthday battery and charger included in my size I was so happy that day great review Vince
I got the tough sheet one as well but I like the axis more but there both good

Milwaukee just makes me keep wanting to buy more.
I need a second but can't find one anywhere in town. Both depots are out and same with both tool suppliers
I am glad you are reviewing this I've been eyeing it for a while.
It’s a good looking warm jacket even without the heat on!!

Well the jacket wouldn't hurt , BUT the 499 tag on the tools may lol

I'm here to decide if I want to buy one of these thanks Vince
Thank you, This video was very helpful.

Can I wear a tool bag and harness or will the battery be in the way

Never thought I'd have to charge my jacket
🤣🤣👍🏻
Was just about to buy one but having the awkward shape battery in the jacket whilst working would be annoying.
Can you feel the battery when your sitting down?
It’s very important to get the jacket sized correctly, too small for your build and you could risk a kidney breaker if you sit down too quickly!! Having the right size allows the battery to move to your side more.
I want to throw my hi vis hoodie over it cuz of job site rules and I wouldn't want to ruin it. Are the sizes accurate or are they a little big?
Vince hope you like the heated jacket and I have been using my m12 gen1 heated jacket and still love it
Do you think home Depot will put the pack out kit on sale again for 199.00 for their Christmas sale this year
I’d be shocked if they dont
Lowell Ma saw it today plus the gloves
