Milwaukee Heated Jacket M12 - Before you buy

I recently bought a heated Milwaukee jacket and thought I would share my experience.
I have many Milwaukee tools powered by the M18 and M12 batteries. So when I discovered they had a heated jacket using the M12, I figured it had to be a quality product.
Well, unfortunately, it really didn't heat much to speak of, and pockets were not warm at all.
Best analogy would be if your cat lay down on your jacket, and you picked it up to put on, the warmth from the cat would be way more noticeable than the jacket itself.
I wish I had known before spending my money. You are better off with a good set of gloves and a well insulated jacket.

stick you hand under it and you'll feel the heat, your core isn't as sensitive to heat as other parts. at the same time you body is a bit picky about temperature if its too hot or cold you will feel it, if temperature is just right you wont feel it.

Don't want to point out the Obvious. If you have a heat source (m12 jacket) & you put insulation (hoodie & shirt) in between that heat source (m12) How the F do you think the heat from the m12 is going to get to your body with a thick ass hoodie a/w a shirt in between.???
I bought that jacket couple years ago, I bought one as snug as possible (with light t shirt on) so the heat source has a direct line to your body. If I need to be even warmer - the smart money is to put a jacket OVER the M12 heated jacket.
I am perfectly happy with it & you might have been if you would use it properly!

Negative... Tried being bare naked underneath.. Look, you are from Winterpig, so understandable that any remote heat is better than 40° below. But my experience is the jacket was a waste of money. I'd be better off with a bunch of Hot Pockets stuffed in a Hoodie.
Also the Pockets on the Milwaukee Jacket are supposed to heat up.. Uhhh.. I put bare hands in there... and didn't warm up at all. So that right there blows a hole in your theory.

@@CruisingTheLandjust a T under not bare. As your bought a jacket that is to big for its intended purpose it will not fit tight enough to transfer heat even with just a T.
Long story short - What Cha'll bought is to Big for it to function correctly.

A heated blanket works whether it's big or small, so that theory doesn't make sense either. And I didn't want to look like I was wearing hand me downs from a older skinny sibling.. lol

Having used heated motorcycle jackets before i can tell you this is not even a third as warm I do not recommend..

      @phalanx3803 3 месяца назад

last i remember those got there power from the bike so they could draw more power then a battery can provide with out using it up in a matter of minutes. and heated motorcycle jackets are much thinker both to keep you warm in the air flow and prevent road rash.
Edit : did the math a heated motorcycle jacket(Venture Heat’s Bluetooth Motorcycle Heated Jacket) is 12v 7A 84w, Milwaukee M12 Heated Jacket is 12v 1.4A 17w. to run the Milwaukee with the same heat as the Venture would eat a 3Ah battery in around 20 mins.

The problem here is you have a hoodie on between your shirt and the jacket. Wear the jacket against a t shirt without a hoodie on then do another review. It’s designed to be close to your skin. You layer on top of this jacket not under it. Review would be alot better if you wore it properly before making this review.

I am a lineman in the Midwest. I have the heated hoodie and with a jacket over it it's a game changer when working outside in sub freezing. Roughly 2h on high with 2AH battery.
