- Special forces officers arrested a 38-year-old man in Sulzbach in the western state of Saarland following a wide manhunt. Another man, aged 32, was later arrested in the same area without resistance. The arrests took place about 37 kilometers (over 20 miles) from the scene of the shooting.
The suspects will be questioned to "reveal if there are other perpetrators," according to a police spokesman.

RIP German police officers !!!🙏🙏🙏 Respect from Poland !!!
Dankeschön from Deutschland
what if it's about corruption and organized crime
There are no POLICE Officers in the FEDERAL RESERVE of GERMANY, they are disguised clowns, in cooperation with private buisness offices that claim they are a legal jurisdiction, etc., and carry out one armed robbery after the other.
@@titanoboanrw4466 You most welcome :)
imagine murdering two innocent people to avoid a 1500€ fine..speechless
'One of the men left their ID at the crime scene'
Sounds about the intelligence level of a man who would turn a poaching charge into a double murder. RIP
for the illegal hunt, he woul become 2 or 3 years in prison, for murder, especaly double murder 15 years, and the fact it were police officers is likely life sentence, tehy will never able to leav the prision
@@fesco4752 I doubt they were to go three years for poaching, I would suspect a suspended sentence.
The police officers in Germany are used to work in a much safer environment than their American counterpart. I recall seeing a female police officer in the U.S. being interviewed. She said "I am smart so I stay alive till today".
Prison forever! No sunlight for them!
They'll walk free after 20 years, guaranteed. Same thing happened already. in 1975, Rudolf Rebarczyk, along with a complice, killed a police officer after they led the patrol car into a forest where they ambushed them. After having served not even 20 years, he was released and, in 2011, killed another police officer in pretty much the same manner.
Now, since in this case, it's the murderers first murder, he'll walk free after 20 years, just like that other guy. Permanent incarceration as a penalty is not part of the german justice system. A "life-sentence" in Germany, even though so named, is not actually a sentence for life. Usually, it's 15 to 20 years of prison and after that they'll be released. There's also the so called "particular severity of guilt" which means that people, after having served their sentence in prison, will remain in prison as long as they are deemed a threat to society. However, the Federal Court of Justice has ruled that such people are *not* prisoners and enjoy more freedom and rights than normal prisoners. Each year, they *have to* be assessed for potential release. Therefore, it's never really a question of "if" somebody is released but a question of "when".
@@srccde Yet German overall crime rate is lower than the US once you figure in per capita of population. There must be way more to this story than a law and order system
@@ph11p3540 It's simple: German justice system is about resocialisation, not punishment.
@@srccde Law is not for only resocialisation but also for providing punishment, as well!

The poachers cant be smart. Its better to pay a fine for illegal poaching than going forever to prison for killing policemen.
One was a Male Officer and 2nd Officer was a female! So Police Officers not men!
@@WICKEDMAN85 you are not a native English speaker, are you? If you were you wouldn't have made that silly commen.
@@WICKEDMAN85 You are correct. The correct term is “police officers”. The use of “policemen” to refer to a mixed-gender police force, is a near-antiquated holdover from the era when only males were police officers. (Some older people still cling to outdated language.)
I am few of lucky ones to be pulled over twice by German police. Both times I was driving renal vehicles crossing Polish border. Few differences were they pull you over from the front while strobe lights say follow me and arrow points. Also they travel minimum of 2 officers per vehicle. It feels very personal, never ok when good gets shot. Germans don't have gun violence problems like we do here. RIP 🌹

@@elqord.1118 I corrected the comment (hope it helps some1): "This is such a sad story. I feel bad for their families. May the 2 rest in peace and the shooters face the law."
I think German autocorrect (most likely on a mobile device) and a grammar mistake in the first sentence was the culprit.
*families, you are writing english
@Peanut Butter Sinn?
I feel so sad for those police. I watch Achtung Kontrolle all the time and the police take a very relaxed approach to traffic stops because there is often never real danger. They are always polite and conversational, explaining everything to the person being stopped, so they really were ambushed and did not see it coming at all. So sad.
Good!! 2 bad guys off the streets.
Rest In Peace for the officers who were shot
Prayers sympathy and condolences to their families and friends.
We’ll do e German police!!
There must be a law now that when you’re being checked at night, you must remain in your car and let the police complete their check.
The police are always relaxed because nothing like this ever happens, because the culture of police and citizens is very relaxed and conversational. So they didn’t expect this at all.
tragic accident
. so sad for everyone affected
Shooting 2 cps hardly qualifies as an accident...
Imagine running from the crime scene then remembering that ID left at the officer.
Most probably they went to drink for the last time.
He could have left it there on purpose too lead the police to the culprint, fearing for his own life as he was a witness of murder too. Who knows.
@@NotUnymous I had a similar thought. One suspect was unaware of the other’s intent to murder the police officers, and was taken by surprise. His identification papers were already in the possession of an officer, who was checking them. The non-shooting suspect was shaken and did not retrieve them, but went home to wait for his eventual arrest.
Isn't this an everyday occurrence in USA?
No…this occurs 10-20x per day…. I remember hearing more people were shot dead in Chicago over A Summer weekend than the Entire year, in Entire Europe. So sad To hear this… I brag to all my usa friends how safe it is here…. But it is… this was a random act of violence…wrong place, wrong time. Curious to what and where they bought the guns
No, in the US, it's the other way around: Cops shoot unarmed & innocent civilians (usually with dark skin colour)
This is kind of rare in germany since regular people dont get guns that easily
Regular people don´t get guns to easilly, but "no regular" people like criminals I´m sure thwy get it very easilly. And normal people don´t go around killing people , neither in the US.

This is why animal abusers should be locked away.
Now two young officers have lost their lives along with the untold amount of wildlife these cowards murdered.

It was just the matter of time n we need to know their nationality .....
Main perpetrator is German, most surely, last name is very German, and first name Andreas Johannes, according to the German news
It's not the nationality that you need to know.
He is natzi German lol
There was the similar situation in my birth city, in my birth country. Two policemen were killed during a patrol at night. Later all police forces of the city tried to find the murderer. Many times policemen pledged to find a suspect, but it was unsuccessful...
Where was this incident AK NL? It's rare to find unsolved Police murders but still tragic.
Novosibirsk City in Russia.
Old habits die hard.
Don't expect to see the mug shots of the arrested. Germany has crazy privacy laws for disclosing even convicted criminals. The best you can expect to see is some stick man figures as the arrested suspects. Oh, and they give convicted nice free room and board and food too, in the name of human rights and criminal behavior correction.
And the arrest efficiency is not because excellent polizei work, but just dumb luck for the criminal left the ID behind.
There still are some pictures of him in german press also his full name and the city he lives in. But you're right since he is arrested now there is no need to publicize his name or face and those articles will probably be deleted soon
Yeah it may be too nice of a treatment for the likes of murderers and rapists but because it is not dehumanizing like other prison systems the reoffending rate is much lower in Germany.
@@rogkfbfodkfiof4447 Why is there no need? Cruminals' name should be published publically.
@@koushikdas1992 If they served their time and have learned from their mistakes there is no need to treat them any differently from anyone else. Also publishing their names would drag their relatives and friends down with them and those are innocent.
@@koushikdas1992 German law allows to publish the details as long the person is a public danger, once arrested he is not a public danger and his privacy needs to be protected. Violating the laws makes you not loosing your rights. Imagine you are falsely accused, but everyone knows your face in connection with a crime you never committed....

There's going to be many people hurt by this flash light. Its probably just a cheap made flashlight. It will also cause fires in unwanted places.
We still dont know the identity of the shooter in Heidelberg few days ago. Strange.
Not that strange since the police published the name of the suspect they were looking for - one of them forgot / left his papers on purpose idk - on site. The Heidelberg shooter shot himself before he was identified.
Otherwise the name of the shooter wouldn't be publicly known at all.
Shooter killed himself in the act, they are two independent cases, most certainly
@@PlaceNetLukas so you cant identify corpse now???
@@harukrentz435 That's not what I meant. With the shooter dead there is no need to publish their name anymore, a lot of people who might do something like this would be encouraged if their name and picture would be plastered all over the news. Remember the people who were killed and injured but don't give the shooter a stage - especially if they're already dead.
At least that's my opinion and one German authorities share.
on what basis does Germany allow weapons for civilians? Are there regular (like bi-yearly) checks, mental health checks, psychological checks? (kind of what a pilot needs to do .. proof of regular a flight and medical tests to keep flying)
The basis is pretty much proving an acceptable need (mostly "being a hunter", "being active in shooting sports" or "being a recognized historical collector in a field that overlaps with firearms"), all of which comes with training requirements ("Sachkundenachweis", basically demonstrating you're safe around firearms); sports shooting also brings with it a certain number of competitions that you need to partake in to keep your license active; also you get background-checked for criminal history and membership in anti-constitutional organisations, but a psychological-medical check is only required if you are a young adult (below 25 years) - basically proving maturity. In some rare cases, an occurrance proving you're suffering from rage and lack of self-discipline or something like this might affect your gun ownership, but generally there is no psychological checkup.
It’s basically impossible for a regular person to obtain a firearm in Germany.
You have to have a clean criminal record, be an active part of a shooting club (attend at least twice a month), your home gets random searches to check whether everything is locked up according to law, several mental health check every few years, very extensive school before you can get a license,
And all that is very expensive so basically only rich people can afford it.
Unless you’re a criminal then it’s a s easy as buying some crypto and ordering online.
Also there are a lot of unregistered firearms in family possession.
@@m4d_al3x Not really, actually. Easiest is being a hunter, which doesn't even require you to hunt or just having access to hunting grounds. And there are literally millions of gun owners in Germany.
You have to prove that you are a poacher.
Then you can own a hunting shotgun.
Yes as already mentioned it’s first and foremost hunters (round about 400.000) or members of shooting clubs (afaik more than one million) who have licenses to own firearms and use them at shooting ranges or in the hunting area.
Pretty much nobody has a license for carrying a loaded gun in public, only security guards for money transports (or jobs like that) get a license to carry loaded weapons in public.

The two arrested guys are Germans. Why are you asking, racist?
Thought Europeans didn't have guns
One person with a gun doesn’t mean all Europeans have guns.
Usually, they don't. The two suspects were hunters (who have special permits), it seems.
The guy had a hunting permit and therefore guns. He literally dismembered a dear when the police arrived to arrest him.
Depends what you call europeans but generally speaking weastern europe has very strict regulation and people don't feel like their life is threatened every time the postman knock at their door. South East Europe is full of guns including heavy assault from previous wars and the next cooking.
