My heart breaks for the woman who lost her unborn child. Expecting a child and being so close to the little one's birth is such an exciting time. Then...to have it die inside of her at 7 months. Jesus Christ. What a horror. This is a tragedy for all, but the mother, oh my god, and the baby, so sad.

According to an article by the Austrian broadcasting agency (ORF), the incident started at around 21:00 hours, at 21:04 people called the police, who arrived at 21:08, one minute later at 21:09, more heavily equipped police arrived, they gained access into the building at 21:11 and stopped the shooting.

There always is a reason. Not a reason that you or I would approve of .... but nevertheless ...
While it is possible that the person was a spree killer thus there is only a few reasons (such as insanity), it is also possible it was a targeted attack. In such cases there are many likely reasons. If you meant justifiable reasons then I agree that it is very hard to find justifiable reasons, likely impossible. One completely made up justifiable reason could be the attacker was held captive at gun point and the resulting dead are the escape attempt that failed. I find that low on the list of possiblities. This is one of the reasons we have law enforcement.
Anyone who's intimately familiar with the Witnesses and their doctrine/policies can imagine several reasons why this might have occurred. But no reasonable person would condone it, and even as an ex-Witness I agree it's a tragedy.

The fact that it happened a mere stone's throw from one of the biggest police stations in the world is shocking!

His name is Philpp F. He was 35 and a member of this community till 2021. He was a marksman and had a legal gun. (Heckler&Koch P30) There was an anonym witness a year ago who supposed that he had mental problems, as he hated religious groups. The police checked him in january 22 at home. Everthing was okay (arm storage etc.) He was never delinquent till yesterday. The police had no further treatment possibilities at that time. It is all very very sad. Specially as a pregnant woman lost her child.

I myself know members who left and were denied contact with family and friends. 2 of my cousins were in this cult, one still is and he cuted the contact to all family members 30 years ago. Definitly not God´´s will 😞

Here in the U.S., whenever there is a mass shooting like this one, a lot of the comments are mean and insensitive. Once again, my condolences to everyone involved.

as someone who has left the Jehovahs Witnesses however and knowing how you are treated i am not surprised this has happened. they shun you - everyone you have ever known friends and family , and many have severe mental health issues in the years following leaving , suicide and depression are rife , and as i feared would happen one day - the potential for someone to be pushed beyond their own sanity and do something awful like this , but as i say the individual bears the responsibility and my thoughts are with the dead and their loved ones , but in the aftermath there has to be a conversation about this organisation and the cruel psychological tactics it employs to control people.
