Anyone using it as an actual looper over other devices out there? I always tend to use it as a delay or just a single on-shot machine. Genuinely curious to see the results of a loop based performance or track made with the Blooper :)
I use the blooper in my live rig as a guitar looper at the end of my board that gets midi clock from my Elektron machines, see vid... ruclips.net/video/23ct3uJYjEo/видео.html Mono is all good when looping a guitar ;)
I use mine as a looper into stereo effects with a Boomerang III at the very end. Exploratory looping that I can then save and repeat via Boomerang, in stereo
Blooper is one of my all time favorite pedals. Bought it to use with my bass, hadn't thought to bring it into my modular/synth pedal chain. Dope ideas in here!
I think you can make it sync to midi clock - there's a chase bliss video "midi unscripted" or something like that involving the blooper where he jerry rigs a cable to make it happen.
I use blooper on myguitar rig and I sink it with my Digitakt so mono works for me. BUT it's SOOO fun to get freaky with it. Like adding modifiers that decay over time and I've got a tape loop that slowly eats it's self. Which is pretty convenient for setting up my next section of a live set.
MIDI sync on Blooper is not nearly as problematic as people seem to think. Start with stability and modifiers turned off, set quantize to 1/2 note, and stay ahead of the cue. If wonky behavior occurs, try restarting the metronome or backing sequence - on Digitakt, at least, the way it sends persistent clock can cause issues for Blooper but they’re resolved with a stop and restart. This sounds maybe complicated but I think it’s manageable and worthwhile for the pedal’s features. If you’re using it with guitar, it also sounds great as the last part of a mono signal chain before a stereo pedal like Strymon Deco! Blooping in stereo, sorta
Another cool and highly inspirational video 👌 Also wanted to say that I've just received the Press Record corduroy hat from your shop, and it's nicely on par with your channel's content... superb quality! 🙌 😎
Respectfully, because i have ALWAYS dug your content….but “worst looper???” Bro….You ARE BUGGIN!!! Blooper has FANTASTIC features like automatic crossfade looping, supreme pitch adjust (SP 202 good), and a dope filter (hi and lo)…but immo keep all that quiet and let y’all cats keep sleepin.
Thanks for the support Liveguy! For me the way I like working with loops, the workflow of the Blooper is tough to build tracks around. Which is why I end up using it more as a delay pedal than anything. Still though, it's "one shot" ability to play a sample or loop it with weird trippy effects is a ton of fun and that's the closest I've gotten to using it as a looper.
@@RickyTinez they are coming with a stereo mk2 blooper soon and any gripes you might have could be fixed in the mk2 version. Chase Bliss is dope because they listen. I honestly wish they would make a sampling beat machine but i know thats asking too much haha. But their pedals all sound fantastic.
@@therealliveguy they’ve explicitly said that a MKII isn’t coming anytime soon. The guy who did the software for the Blooper is too busy and it’s too large an undertaking for them to start from scratch in the foreseeable future.
That filter effect is cool, but I can get something similar (I know it's not the same) with a monotron delay. Still looks like it would be fun to play with.
Going to take a longer look at this video and see if there is enough here to keep me from selling mine.. I backed this on Kickstarter originally, but it has alot more then I will ever need unfortunately. All the secret squirrel hidden functions and the plethora of dip switches is a bit of a turn off in practice. Trying to cram a bunch of functionality into a stompbox form factor just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
That's a good question. I think I keep coming back to the blooper more because I have the 2 modifiers at a time instead of the single one on Habit. So I love being able to filter AND pitch up at the same time. Also, Blooper feels a bit more predictable. Habit can go off doing its own thing and if you forget to press record you'll never hear it again hahah
Hello, I've got a question about how to change the MIDI channel on my CBA pedals. I can't get it to work with Ableton. I know that I have to unplug and plug in again while holding both switches and then send Program Change. But I don't know how that works in Ableton... I have 4 CBA pedals and I would like them on different MIDI channels. But I can't figure it out.. I really hope you could help me out.
Totally understand your concern about not being stereo , it wasn’t made to take a stereo signal so we should know this before even trying to sample a stereo source. Blooper is absolutely wonderful pedal. In my opinion, it’s a starting point. Let everything blossom into stereo after the pedal. Love your channel. Also, i definitely be droppin some of your tracks when I play out. 🙌
@@LoVeAmBiEnT have you seen the mood mk2? of course you did, but finally that s the one for me. I have some mono and stereo machines so of course I d Luke my pedals to be stereo so I can hook at least a mono duet. Anyway thanks for replying and good luck man, love what you re doing
Definitely not the worst looper out there. If you think that then you are bad with your timing. Sync it to daw clock and you can get almost perfectly synced loops.
If they do id be surprised unfortunately from what ive been able to gather. Memory and process power for stereo would be a lot. Plus a bigger package more costs turning people off but id buy it in a heartbeat. Definitely not the worst looper, what hes doing right now is looping lol.
Chase Bliss… I think they need to stop and have a think, it’s the wrong enclosure on this the MOOD etc etc.. too many pots, switches in odd places, dip switches on the back? Mono? seems they’re stuck hunting for guitarist customers whist making effects for Dawless jamming ? Brand and product management refresh could be good here….
Mood MKII is fully stereo and has their best control layout yet. I would agree that some of the pedals lend themselves to DAWless jamming while others are more guitar centric, but as someone who does exactly those things, it doesn’t seem like a problem to me
@@noahzeidman508 Your welcome!!The reason why I'm on here is that I'm looking into getting the Blooper as my early chain Looper..I have the Mood 2 further halfway in my chain in stereo... have you got the Blooper and if so would you recommend it?

Absolutely! Blooper is far and away my favorite asynchronous looper (with Tensor being a close second), primarily because it rewards exploration.

@@mattlowerymusic can you comment a bit on the Tensor/Blooper pluses and minuses?
I love when you apologize for going down the rabbit hole, bc I am always totally engrossed in those moments too as the viewer.

All you need is a MIDIBox (Disaster Area or Chase Bliss) and a TRS!

I LOVE that tape effect with the additive mode.. especially for single notes here and there that go on
Bro is onto something. Also super jealous of the octatrack mastery

With that mod A on, it sounds a lot like the crystallizer plugin from sound toys. That gives me a lot of ideas!
Just impressive to see you play the octatrack as well as blooper like an instrument! Now going back to my Dynacord Echocord Super 76 😂
Youd prolly really like the Thermae since you're using it this way

I use my EH 16 second delay the same way, with a little bit of mod and its so lovely
So great, Ricky! Just out of curiosity, is there a difference between Blooper and Habit abilities as a delay?

6:20 instant stank face
U could always grab another so that way it would be stereo. More possibilities rhythmically too
✌️😎
Ooh or you could record each side separately (left right) In two takes 😮😁🤔
You can midi clock sync 🕒
Have you tried the new firmware? also, midi tempo sync works for me although a bit janky.
Yes, midi sync works quite awful, I heard the only way to fix it is to send it to CBA maintenance.
Run your mono out from the blooper into any stereo pedal and boom, it's stereo now.
Am I crazy for thinking the price on this pedal isn't justified? Too expensive for a simple delay pedal.
“Sample something - make it weird.” merch coming soon I hope! 😂
