    I believe the circular, oval etc frames that dont have glass are for framing needlework. Embroidery cross stich etc. I have seen them a lot near needle work kits at the thrift store. You could use them for landscape photography like sunsets would be cool.

    Some of the Royal Haeger pieces were made in my hometown! I'm always looking out for them too. :)

    You talked about the Scandinavian Mugs/Teaset. I think that they are also Swiss - it looks like they are wearing the traditional Swiss clothes of the last century. Anyway - you can find tons of them in every thriftstore or fleamarket - handmade in Switzerland.

    The circular frames would be perfect for a nautical-themed porthole-effect

    I saw a lamp shade in one of the stores that had a bootlace-type border that gave me an idea that I might try on one of my lamp shades. So many lamp shades are so exactly aIike, I need to check and see if there are any lamp shade upgrades on youtube. The big "bulb" lamp you bought is really neat!

    I enjoyed the thrifting trip. I like MCM furniture and decor items but only enjoy buying them if I find them at bargain basement prices. 🤣

    A bit surprised you did mention the cost of the items, other videos you share the price. It's nice to know what items are going for in other areas.
    I'm in my 70's, my 1st job was answering incoming calls from customers placing orders in Sears catalog.
    I received a discount for working there, nice. I had a set of the mushroom canisters and coffee mugs, back then, mushrooms were the "in thing".

    Regarding the DANSK Tapestries dishware set: Dansk means Danish in Danish. Don't know the company though. I guess it's someone with Danish ancestry, because the sirname Larsen is also Danish.

    People flipping thrift items is one of the reasons that thrift shopping is no longer economical.

    • @livingwithlk
      @livingwithlk  Месяц назад +1

      I'd say it has much more to do with the state of corporations and the economy than hobbyists making money on a side hustle, but I believe when I mentioned flipping things in this video I meant that I would DIY it and change it up so that it would suit my style, for me. But I am all for someone reselling or DIYing somethign to flip it for cash. I think its fun to see what people find in their stores and/or what they can create with those finds!

      Mmm well maybe.🤷🏻‍♀️
      But I’d think they are genius for seeing an opportunity to make living or supplement their livelihood by reselling. So smart! There are plenty of people who don’t have time or simply don’t want to take the time for “the hunt” (which I love). I love the hunt for a good deal on a vintage item. More and more people prefer sitting in their easy chair and shopping on-line. Who would have ever thought we could buy “garage sale”items on-line?
      I think it’s more likely prices have gone up because more and more people are thrifting and thrift stores are seeing an opportunity to make more money! Also, the trend to reuse items as a way of saving things from the local garbage heap has really taken off. Thankfully I think garage sales and estate sales still seem to keep a lower price point.
